BlackBoard - easy virtual platform for academics
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard is very customizable. I can directly grade the assignments online without having to download them which makes my job efficient. Blackboard has various features including ability to share documents, take virtual tests/quizzes, and communicate with your course instructor.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find some of my classes do not get archived after the end of the semester and that needs to change. It is very slow on mobile devices
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blackboard brings great amount of information in one place in a great user interface. For someone who teaches multiple courses, it saves lot of time . With Blackboard, I can communicate and interact directly with students and sort out most of the problems without having to meet them personally.

What do you like best about the product?
System that all students can use to access grades, course content, etc. it's pretty user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding multiple content at the same time is extremely difficult. For us, an admin has to remove someone from the course and that is frustrating. Some of the wording on the site doesn't make much sense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's extremely multi-purpose, so students understand the platform which is really good. There isn't a lot of reteaching how to use blackboard, and so many colleges use it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Update the user face.
It works and is simple but could be more user friendly

It is simple and relatively easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many ways for it to error out, for example, if you're taking a test and your page freezes or you have less than perfect internet, then it refreshes automatically which kicks you out of the tests.

It's easy to have group discussions in a secure "location"
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a secure and user friendly program just be prepared to be understanding to the students who have connection issues or issues with tests/projects locking accidentally.

Can be difficult to navigate if you don't know where to find something. Not the most intuitive.

Collaborative learning. It's easy and accessible. Doesn't require being in person to work together.

It's a good system for our students to use for online classes, coursework and everyday communications.

There are a few tabs that I believe are unnecessary.

Benefits the students and allows for a more remote experience.

What do you like best about the product?
I really liked that as a professor and a student, I could use Blackboard for both academic pursuits without having multiple profiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main layout didn't always please me since some of my older classes still came up first on the list when I signed in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blackboard helps professors and students alike stay organized in their academic involvements. I also know, as a coach, that Blackboard was the base for any of the sport psychologist's or nutritionist's information/advice.

The notification system can sometimes be difficult to use.

Blackboard helps students to be more organized and allows professors to better communicate with them. It is an all-in-one interface that is very helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is important to remember that Blackboard does require some training. When students are using this software, they will have many questions. However, with time, it becomes like second nature to the user. It is also helpful to understand that the professors that use the software need to become more familiar with updating their grades in a timely manner.

Have had issues with integration in the past.

Our school is educating the students with blackboard.

Blackboard got great customer service and technical support. They reach out to IT department of my school quickly for issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard's app on a mobile phone requires you to buy. You can't use that for free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solved my problem for helping my students to learn better as a teaching assistant. It's easier to communicate with students in terms of information and material.

It is easy to use. Lots of documentation available online. Great support from Blackboard support team.
Great as long as you have the Server Power
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard is one of the best Online Classroom Software available if you have the server to support it. Our entire department and most of the University incorporate the technology even if they teach in-person courses. Blackboard is fast, efficient, easy to understand and use, and quick to get set-up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Technical support for Blackboard is often put into the hands of our Local IT staff who do not act as good support technicians for the software.
Lots of users = server connection issues. Ensure your server can support the load, server switching has been problematic for many of our faculty.

Delivering high impact, quality, and up to date classes online for today's traditional and non-traditional students. Effective communication, discussions, graded activities for in-person classes.
