A nice and functional learning platform that has its own merits and drawbacks
What do you like best about the product?
- The website itself is fairly simple and straight forward to use, with many different functionalities and tool for both teachers and students to use.
- Clean and simple user interface with clearly labeled functions and elements.
- Available on different platform such as PC, Mac, Android and iOS for better switching between devices.
- Include a lot of great learning functionalities such as discussion boards, notification center, calendars, its own test and exam platform...
- The ability to integrate with different APIs from different companies to extend its functionalities even further.
- Great team working functions such as video call, team board, contacts...

What do you dislike about the product?
- Annoying lockdown function that automatically logs out user after 30 minute of inactivity. Please at least give me the option to change the amount of time before logging me out or prompt a check box to confirm if I want to log out or not.
- Does not have an autosave feature. I have many time lost my work in the process either because of network error or the site automatically log me out without saving my work first. Major annoyance.
- Notification should be organized by subject first, then chronological order to make it easier to keep track of and find. Also new notifications sometimes doesn’t show up in the control panel.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently using Blackboard as a companion tool to study at George Brown College. This include receiving, viewing and archiving learning materials for every courses; receiving notifications and messages from instructors, professors and the School; tracking dates and time for various different events using the calendar function; collaborate with other students in my course, group and also with the professors; carry out group tasks using the group work functionalities. This website helps my everyday learning at the college and helps bringing pretty much any tools i needed for my study into one platform. When correctly implemented learning with Blackboard can be a lot of fun and can get a lot easier for me to get everything I need. This help me achieve better result in my study and simplify the process in doing so.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can overcome the slight learning curve to fluently use the platform’s functions and spend some time to navigate them, you are going to appreciate the many applications and functionalities that it provide. The ability to integrate with other learning and teaching tools like McGraw Hill open up more possibilities for you. There are some quirks and pretty big annoyance such as the auto log out and the complete lack of autosave but these can be easily fixed in the future. This platform will help you simplify your learning and teaching experience and is a step in a good direction for the new age of modern education.

Blackboard is a great tool for use in a university setting, allowing you to create fully customisable course pages and to monitor use of resources and assessment submission.

While the interface is fairly easy to use, it is a little clumsy at times. Changes don't always save.

Blackboard makes it easy to coordinate large university courses and to provide students with resources/information.

Get to know how blackboard works, especially within your own industry, before you roll it out.

What do you like best about the product?
I have used blackboard for years and like the versatility it has in regards to classroom tools. There are various ways to upload content and have students upload as well. The best part is the turnitin feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard is not very user friendly and requires a lot of calls to customer help. Even then, things do not get solved right away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefit is that multiple students can be on the server at once. It is also helpful to put everything electronically in one place for a class.

The part that I liked of Blackboard learn was the overview. For me as new user it was really clear where I could find the information that I needed.

I disliked the maintenance, sometimes the site was down for maintenance. So that could be a problem, because at that moment I needed the information.

Most of the time I used it for learning for, because i'm a student.

I like being able to upload assignments on here and receive grades

I don't like that it is constantly crashing in a school environment

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can send out announcements to my students. I also like that I can upload course documents for students to view.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that I sometimes send out announcements on Blackboard and I'm still getting complaints from my students that they are not getting notified by their email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The conversations tab is really useful. It's nice that my students can all have a discussion in one place, and if one student has a question they can ask it to the class, which is nice because another student probably has the same question.

What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard Learn is good, makes different classes clearly distinguishable and has sections for all documents for students.
What do you dislike about the product?
Copying course material and importing for future courses is difficult - I usually end up contacting support for assistance.

Student interaction and interface is manageable, tracking student engagement is easy and accessible.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can see when assignments are due when I look at the calendar. I like how I can edit which classes show on my homepage.

I don't like the layout, it is very outdated. Needs a sleeker look

It makes it easy for me to keep track of due dates and emails you a confirmation when you turn an assignment in.

At first, the homepage can look overwhelming, but if you go to the edit section you can edit how much shows up on your homepage and filter what pops up.
