OnPrem migration to Cloud

  • February 08, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
The UI flexibility is smooth; capabilities are the same (some additional even) as the previous on-prem version. The necessity of having a physical server (or VM) on-prem is eliminated, and we can manage it from anywhere.
What do you dislike?
The setup is a little bit rough and requires some technical expertise however this is expected with a solution as complete as a firewall and specially a checkpoint one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main benefit was the elimination of a server/vm on our datacenter and the usage of a cloud solution.
Having all the features on the cloud was also a benefif because some products when migrated to cloud solutions lose some features but not his one

The cost of implementation is not the best
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now with a very complex environment, mixed with on-premise and cloud, you need a robust solution like this

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Reliability, support, and industry leadership. They are able to help with anything we need and have been an excellent partner.

The older software that's going away had limitations. Newer software is built to handle what's needed today.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Perimeter security, monitoring and maintaining our B2B VPNs, compliance for all regulatory requirements.

Very robust product for mission-critical use

  • January 27, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
The product has clearly demonstrated a great improvement in performance while stopping unwanted packets, with a very high relevance of the IPS.

Installation and configuration is becoming more intuitive and impressive.
What do you dislike?
One of the things that needs to be improved is the configuration of VPN tunnels which is still quite complex when compared to competing products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the product to protect our customers' data hosted at our DataCenter, it clearly fulfills its mission and with very high performance.

Excellent technology

  • January 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
We have been using this technology for the last five years, always without service interruptions and without significant problems. Experience tells us that it is a technology we can trust.
What do you dislike?
It works excellent in enterprise environments, but we think it needs to evolve into the concept of collective intelligence to serve parts of our network that are more citizen-oriented and not internal employee-oriented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
VPN, FW (layers 2 to 7)

Multi-Domain Big Infrastructure's NGFW

  • January 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Check Poing NGFW is very stable, scalable and no performance issues on working. Tradational and next-gen firewall features works well. User interface is user-friendly.
What do you dislike?
Configuration and deployment are little bit hard and time-taker. New Syslog component(Log Exporter) are still developing and changing, Syslog format is still not stable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Main firewall features like application control, url filtering, anti-bot, threat emulation, anti-virus protections come with no performance issues. High network load is not affecting the mode of operation of the solution, unlike the other vendors products.

Simplified Network Management And Powerful Network Protection Of Your IT Assets

  • December 08, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
Good experience with overall configuration, implementation and troubleshooting. Implemented VSX solution and completed full network segmentation by provisioning a firewall context (VSX) for every security zone (LAN, DMZ, VPN, Management, UC, etc...). This provided a high level of protection and visibility of traffic

Firewall manager makes it easy to group firewalls based on their security zone (DMZ, VPN, etc..) and push policies in bulk to them. Additionally, using VPN communities, FW manager simplify VPN deployment and building Site-to-Site Mesh connectivity between our corporate offices.
What do you dislike?
In some cases, some services can drive up CPU and cause performance issue. Also during our security team's Penetration Testing, some firewalls would generate alarms about packet loss and high CPU.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- It facilitated network support, discovering root causes of different issues, and general troubleshooting.
- Provided security segmentation for different network zones (DMZ, Wifi, UC, LAN, Border, etc...)
- Centralized/simplified management by using Firewall Manager

What do you like best?
Smart Console provides a single pane of glass that allows the IT-sfaff to manage the environment and troubleshoot issues easily. The UI decrease the hours required to complete a task. It also incorporate compliance and audit control validation into the system. IT-staff can construct a single policy across all enforcement points in the Infinity architecture. A unified policy table that combined threat prevention and segmentation policies. SmartEvent allows consolidated event management and export.
What do you dislike?
SmartEvent blade, with a large number of security events/logs and are trying to find the correlation with the help of SmartEvent blade, it may impact the performance of your Check Point management server. That requires additional licenses for Check Point management servers. It should be inbuilt with a management server. With the increase of traffic volume, the required resource/hardware to be properly run the production goes up. Hardware engineering to architecture flow to have it more efficient.
