    Financial Services

Offers a lot of feature at a competitive price

What do you like best about the product?
3CX is very easy to install, manage, and maintain. There is an academy section on the website that contains many tutorials and educational articles. They also have a forum that anyone can ask questions about 3CX issues and members and staff help users with their experiences.
The pros can be listed as follow:
1-Easy to Install
2-Easy to manage
3-Extensive feature list
4-Low licensing fee
5-can run in a small VM
6-The phone system works great
7-It delivers whatever it promises to deliver with no bug!
What do you dislike about the product?
Although 3CX offers many great features, it has some downsides as well.
The cons are as follow:
1-Too many updates
2-Some updates remove features which were available in last releases
3-List of supported hardware is very limited
4-However, you have to pay for the maintenance annually, it provides very little to zero support from 3CX
5-3CX support is not helpful based on my 5-year+ experience of dealing with them
6-Lack of enterprise features such as Barge-in on ip-phones
7-Even though 3CX has been around for 15+ years, it seems like a startup with an immature product that needs constant update and development
8-3CX changes user interface in new updates which is very annoying for end users. It requires re-training the users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This phone system is ideal for small size businesses that don't want to break the bank over their phone system. When there is a client who doesn't need advanced features and has a tight budget, I would suggest them to use 3CX.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a very cost-effective, easy to manage, and robust phone system for small businesses with no special or complicated requirements.
It delivers what it promises and it never has a bug (maybe missing features but never a bug).

3CX

What do you like best about the product?
The product has proven to be highly versatile across multiple platforms
What do you dislike about the product?
Most problems are audio related - specifically (I think) issues with the browser and windows.
Many of our users have to reboot to get the product to finally work for a meeting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for our WFH situation with this pandemic - very good cross-platform tool
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hands on labs and allow for an adoption period - don't pull the old tools until your team gets comfortable with the new ones.

Affordable and robust PBX system

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Deployment of phones is a breeze and with the correct workflow it does not even require removing phones from the box until it is time to plug them in at the user's desk.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the upgrade feature was easier. When there is a major upgrade, you must backup the system, uninstall the old version, install the new version and restore the backup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using the provisioning templates to push out multicast paging settings that allowed us to replace old intercom systems with the voip phones.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do the trial and try it out. You'll probably love it.

Easy to install the mobile application and it is very straight forward to use. Given the current COVID situation and lockdown, this product has helped making working from home much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web meeting can be a bit tricky to setup. Also the mobile app can be a bit buggy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in education and we have used the webmeeting feature to deliver content to students.

We have also used the product to continue meetings and maintain communication remotely.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent, flexible platform with a good feature set.

5+ Years Installing and Supporting 3cx

  • April 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of its deployment and agnostic use of SIP Trunks and hardware
What do you dislike about the product?
The technical support really needs some work. This has been a point of contention since day 1, 5 years ago and has really never improved. The staff there are difficult to work with and often are very unhelpful. Extremely unhelpful would be best described. Almost instructed to be as unhelpful as they are. We have basically had to learn on our own through trial and error with very little manufacturer provided backing and support through questions and issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost of entry barriers are the biggest sell point. We can deploy a system for near close to what normal ISP or Telco is charging for standard POTS lines with old key style PBX systems. This is the biggest win in my book for 3cx.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find an integrator or partner that can help you with deployment and questions along the way before you start out with 3cx either as an integrator / installer or for in house use. This will save you a lot of headache and hours wasted on finding answers that someone else has already been through before you have. The price of entry and the features are the best attributes to 3cx but plan carefully before going live.

Dissatisfied

  • April 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Not a fan. Too many outages and lost business opportunities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mobile App crashed constantly. Experienced 8 outages in 3 months, not a suitable solution for call center or 24x7 environment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have moved on from 3CX. The platform was not reliable or resilient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your homework, consider who the resale partner is and how technical they are. 3CX is not friendly to deal with directly, you will be required to work through a partner for break/fix. Expect outages to be resolved with no communication or RCA.
