Email backups without the fuss

  • September 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Druva inSync as our primary Office 365 email and One drive backup solution. All users in our Office 365 tenant have their email and one drive protected with Druva inSync. We're able to quickly backup, monitor, and restore data as needed. We simply worry about what data to backup and not about the infrastructure to perform the backup.

InSync was easy to deploy. I spend little time managing the software.

I was able to protect and restore our data without the need for formal training on the software. Everything was simple to use out of the box.

Most issues I have can be solved without opening a ticket. But if I need to get in touch with a support agent, I can open a chat request and within minutes have a tech on the end assisting me. The few tickets I had to open were resolved on the first call.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some errors can be a bit cryptic as to what the problem actually is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to get email and one drive backups extra hardware. This is completely handled in the cloud.Druva inSync provides backups without the extra costs and overhead of managing on premise hardware
We protect our Office 365 environment with Druva inSync. We have email and one drive added to backups, then Druva will sync that data between our AD environment. That way you'll be able to see an individuals users cloud applications under a single user profile. The backups run seamless. I rarely have to do anything in the admin console outside of check job status.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you need Office 365 and one drive backups, look no further.

Druva inSync - Solid and Reliable backups

  • September 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Druva is easily the hand's off backups. It takes some time to configure initially, but once it's fine-tuned it's reliable. Easy to upgrade remotely, along with solid reporting. We haven't had any issues with it running, and backups are available at any time along with a history.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have users with Mac Bootcamp and you need to be on a specific version, and then upgrade it for the device to report correctly. If you don't, the backups will overwrite each partition. Outside of that, Druva has been outstanding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for endpoint backups, in case of emergency. Luckily we haven't needed disaster recovery yet, but I have made use of the restoration for endpoint upgrades.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a solid backup platform at a reasonable price. Easy to do recovery and recovery time is solid. Can't complain.

Druva Insync

  • September 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it automatically backs up data without backup up the unnecessary files. It's user-friendly for end users to automatically restore when a laptop is replaced or a hard drive crashes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some sort of document 'versioning' would be nice - if it has that already, I've not experienced using it or know about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backups for laptop swaps; it's easy to backup and restore.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
N/A

Druva inSync provides complete data loss prevention including data encryption on endpoint devices

  • March 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva inSync enables eDiscovery for data stored on endpoint devices.
Provides complete governance solution for the physical devices includes Mobile devices

app-aware deduplication reduces the storage and bandwidth utilization

Utilizing our 2-factor encryption scheme, Druva’s approach to encryption key management ensures data
cannot be lost or corrupted, as only an encrypted token is stored per user
What do you dislike about the product?
If there is a network interruption, the ability to perform a backup and queue the file for later transfer when a connection is available would be handy.

AWS storage recovery model takes way too long

After upgrading to new version, the ability to roll back to the older version in case of any issues.

Initial backups can be lengthy and consume a lot of bandwidth. This is true for any endpoint backup system. Druva has methods of avoiding this (CloudCache) but with our workforce those methods didn't apply, we have too many field/remote users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are Backing up all our Laptops of engineers which holds lot of research data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are planning for one stop solution for all the components and integrated to Cloud as well

Incredibly simple and cost effective

  • February 14, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to set up and start backing up data to the cloud. We saw 15x deduplication rates which has saved us a significant amount over standard data protection offerings that require hardware or tape.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it allowed us to back up our local Oracle instance, but that's not supported today.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were seeing our data sizes growing and it felt like the hardware and tape guys were happy to just sell us more hardware and tape capacity. We heard about Druva from Gartner and liked the idea that we could store this all in the cloud at a lower cost than adding more hardware. We also liked that since it's an "as a service" offering we pay as we consume it, so we don't have the overhead and capex costs associated with hardware. We also have visibility to the deduplication and realize we were saving multiple copies and paying for more storage. With Druva Phoenix they dedupe it before moving to the cloud so we can see the dedupe rate and we pay less. We have seen a 15x deduplication rate and in the first 9 months a TCO reduction of almost 40% so far. We also have workloads on AWS and feel that Druva's new apollo offering will allow us to protect all out cloud applications, workloads and on premise data with one pane of glass, making backup and recovery easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely recommend this solution if you want something that is as a service. It's simple to set up and administer, my back up guys love it. It's saved us significant money in the short term, so far. They use AWS as their back end, so I know it's safer than even my security internally.

A Silent Partner

  • January 03, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our company has recently started using Druva and it has definitely added a piece of mind. I have always carried around a thumb drive, backing up to it whenever I remember to, and knowing we now have everything important updated to a cloud based back up daily gives a sense of security for our data. The software is straightforward, easy to use and is configurable and managed by our IT department.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far nothing to dislike has arisen, software works as expected and does a good job.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In a digital age filled with soft data and ever changing laws/requirements, having everything backed up is the best way to go. This software provides a simple solution that gives peace of mind and security.
