What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have the backup hosted inside our facilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
It happened once that, if an update was needed on the server, there was data corruption after and the product was not functional until we got in touch with Druva.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wew are able to have a backup for all the users enrolled and the ability to restore at any point.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Solid Choice for user backup - easy-to-use management console, great support

  • March 25, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva works well and it works silently. It's virtually no hassle at all for the end-users and they don't know it's there, which is what matters to them. The backup and restore process is very smooth.

Users are able to easily add and remove files from their backup folders all from within explorer. They also have the option of managing it online.

The admin console is straightforward and very easy to use. Important data is listed right on the main dashboard for a pleasant at-a-glance view of the environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
On our end, we've had some issues with our firewall letting all of the Druva traffic through. We've allowed the specified ranges we've gotten from support, but it seems like there's still some that doesn't fall under the specified ranges, requiring some extra work on our end.

The other thing I dislike is the process of restoring any files that may have accidentally been deleted. You can only restore files 1-at-a-time and you have to do it all completely manually. It's not a smooth process and it could very much be improved upon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backup and business continuity. It's great being to have a secure backup to the cloud that's reliable. The restoration has really come in handy for those times that a hard drive has failed.

Druva inSync Cloud - Set It and Fortget

  • March 25, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Once the product has been deployed, maintenance and administration is very easy. All can administrative tasks (configuration changes, upgrades) can be done centrally through the administrative console.

Email alerting for possible issues (no backup for x days, configuration errors) can be sent to both administrators and end users.

PST backup that allows for block level backup of large pst files rather than the entire pst blob.

Block level backup, so only changed file blocks are sent over the network rather than the entire file.

Stored file dedupe and compression have been great. Are total client backup set is just over 19TB, however we are using 3TB of space as part of our SaaS license.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product can be temperamental to using bandwidth shaping technologies (we had issues with Fortinet traffic shaping). The product frequently "checks-in" with the administrative console, and if these packets are lost or delayed the client will be considered offline. We have resolved the issue early on in our deployment through whitelisting and remove all traffic associated with the InSync Cloud.

Initial deployment was a bit tedious due to using particular script generation, however this has been resolved through InSync's AD mapping product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
End point system backup across all end user systems.

We have a number of systems that are predominantly remote and do not connect to the corporate network. Having backup on these systems has allowed us to rapidly recover from both hardware, and software related issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to consider backup windows with the total amount of users that will be backing up during a period of time. Multiple clients (especially on initial backup) will attempt to send data using as much upstream bandwidth as you allocate.

Great for endpoint backups and excellent service.

  • March 25, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva inSync is one of the only endpoint backup products that gives us the option for an on-premises install. The backups are fast and efficient and easily managed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Migrating the product from one server to another was not as easy as we expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a backup solution for our off-site laptops which allowed them to be backed up to our data center. Druva inSync allowed us to keep the backups in house. The management console is very easy to learn. This product has saved us a lot of time.

Druva inSync is a winner!

What do you like best about the product?
Manageability of this product is so easy. I love the interface and the is very straight forward to making changes. setting up users, deploying via GPO, making changes after the deployment, Mac support using Windows wildcards. I also love that we can put users on hold and have the license recaptured. another great feature is that we can get super fast backups as the system does an amazing job at de-dupe and compression. the system also backs up user state, so icon placement user background etc can be easily restored when upgrading a users computer. 9/10
What do you dislike about the product?
undo changes would be nice, drag and drop and also being able to copy profiles. I would also like to see a way to share sub level folders with different permissions over the parent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
sync to cloud for our remote and corporate users as well as share between users. super easy and even though we are only a few months into it, the product has a super comfortable feel to it. when we have had to go back and do restores, even user-state restores the process is simple and fast. This product is a winner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Contact their sales team and get a demo installed. this product has what you are looking for and the support is VERY responsive should you run into an issue.

    Logistics and Supply Chain

Great backup solution, easy to manage/integrate.

  • March 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the integration with AD and the ability to map using profiles. The profiles allow you to map using OUs and select different server locations (for different GEOs) for better up/down speeds.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be confusing, and AD mapping is not always straight forward. However once you get past the learning curve, things become substantially easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to Druva we had a complete lack of backup solution. Druva allowed us to easily push a backup solution to our users and protect our data. We also enjoy utilizing it's restore features for when we upgrade our users to new laptops. It makes it easy to restore their computer to how it was.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to create an infrastructure using AD Mappings. It will make adding new users significantly easier, especially when adding users in different geological locations.

Ease of Use and Just Works!

  • March 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Only had one issue in the last over a year. It is great and great service!
What do you dislike about the product?
I already discussed this with them - when there is a problem or the service is down it would be nice to have a email sent out to inform us of that instead of having to create a ticket and wait.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every day users issues. This software is very easy to use and users can figure it out without having to call each time.

    Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Good service for our data backup requirements.

  • March 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy setup of the system and ease of use once installed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboard interface could improve. The different login for user and admin could be centralized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ITAR restricted data backup
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good system to use.

Review of our Druva inSync Cloud deployment

  • March 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva is easy to deploy if you use GPO rules or SCCM, we even were able to use Munki for our Mac users. It was fairly easy to lock the installer down to only mass deployment installations using a generated token. We used the cloud version and so didn't have to worry about setting up onsite storage even with users who had several GB of data we didn't need to restrict what could be backed up.
What do you dislike about the product?
We're an international company with users all over. In order to setup AD mapping we needed to create several profiles for each country we have users in and there's no way to clone previous profiles even though they'd be the same except for the location. The AD mapping is also very limited, you can only match on country and department. Because we have a few different backup profiles based on department we ended up needed to create some PowerShell tools that update the security group because we just have too many discrete departments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Were able to deploy the backup solution worldwide for the first time and have it be almost completely automated from on boarding to off boarding.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With a few tweaks you can completely automate on boarding and off boarding of users, make sure you put as much of that in place from the beginning.

Druva inSync review

  • March 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the simplicity for the end users. Once things are setup and running they take care of everything. It is rare that they call in for help with a restore or adding a folder.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to set it up so that a top level folder is configured on the server side, and the user could deselect sub folders under that top level folder.
Really a minor annoyance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are protecting more and more laptops every day as we roll this out. It has already saved us several times!
