Fast Media Optimization and Delivery for Modern Web Applications

  • January 22, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like Cloudinary's on-the-fly media optimization, automatic resizing, and format selection. The fast CDN delivery and the simple APIs make media handling efficient and scalable for us. The initial setup was also easy, with API keys, SDKs, and clear documentation making integration quick. Basic image optimization started working almost immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cloudinary can get expensive at scale, transformation pricing isn't always predictable, and advanced features have a learning curve. Better cost visibility and simpler pricing tiers would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Cloudinary to solve media performance and scaling issues, automating image and video optimization while reducing load times and manual handling.

Essential for Startups, Seamless for Ruby on Rails

  • January 09, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Cloudinary has a generous starter tier that helped our small greenfield startup get off the ground. It's great how it supports a wide range of SDKs for any language or platform, which is a huge time-saver for us as a Ruby-on-Rails platform, especially since Cloudinary supports Ruby and Rails out of the box. The UI is friendly and makes it super easy to manage and tag our uploaded assets, so we can confidently delete outdated variants without worrying about impacting production assets. Cloudinary's integration with ActiveStorage is a seamless drop-in solution, which made it extremely easy to set up by just installing it and copying their sample configuration. These features make Cloudinary incredibly valuable to our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing does ramp up quickly. Once you start hitting thresholds, it gets comparatively expensive versus other solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloudinary makes it easy to store images, generate variants, and optimize them for different formats. It supports Ruby on Rails and integrates with ActiveStorage, which saves us development time. Its UI helps manage assets confidently, avoiding accidental deletions.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Cloudinary's feature that allows me to test transformations, which I find very handy. It also handles quite large files well, and the process is quite straightforward. Using Cloudinary, I can upscale images by four times, producing results that are quite sharp with a great level of detail. I found the initial setup very easy, and everything was up and running within a week.

I would like to have a way to upscale videos. That's a feature that is missing, and I would like to be able to buy additional credits without having to upgrade for a bigger plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloudinary upscales my images effectively, changes formats, and adds masks and watermarks. It handles large files and provides sharp, detailed results, simplifying my image transformations.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how Cloudinary allows me to store images on the cloud with ease and retrieve them without needing to compress or edit them beforehand. The ability to store images using their API and then request them simply by calling the URL with appropriate parameters is incredibly convenient. Cloudinary handles transformations and other tasks in the background, which saves me a lot of time and effort. Furthermore, setting up Cloudinary was quite straightforward, and its integration through API calls is greatly simplified, especially with the assistance of AI. Overall, I enjoy the service a lot because it performs exceptionally well, even though I have mentioned some minor concerns.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the UI of Cloudinary to be somewhat complicated and feel that it could be more modern and user-friendly. Additionally, I feel that the pricing can become quite high once a certain threshold is reached.

What do you like best about the product?
I greatly appreciate Cloudinary for its ability to easily sort and share all our visual photos and videos, which is crucial for our campaigns that involve many different media. The sorting feature using metadata is particularly remarkable, it allows me to quickly find what I need and saves us valuable time. Moreover, the simplicity of using Cloudinary, especially during the initial setup, was very pleasant. The installation was done easily and quickly, which facilitated adoption by our team. Overall, these elements make Cloudinary very valuable for our daily activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I browse through all the visuals, they sometimes take a while to display. Improving this aspect would be a plus.

Simplified Media Management with Cloudinary

  • December 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I greatly appreciate the metadata function in Cloudinary, as it allows me to efficiently sort and catalog our files. It is particularly useful for specifying vital information such as shooting dates and locations, product codes, as well as primary and secondary materials. Moreover, it facilitates the distinction between creations and raw visuals, and offers great utility for managing different file formats and orientations. By using Cloudinary, I can also avoid file duplicates and easily retrieve documents thanks to detailed metadata. This makes the display on our website and our Google campaigns much smoother and more organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
The video studio feature on Cloudinary does not meet all my expectations. Ideally, I would like to be able to edit videos by adding text and integrating Excel files for translation to create adapted versions for different countries. Additionally, it would be very beneficial to have basic effects and transitions available to facilitate video editing directly on Cloudinary, which would allow us to have only one visual for all our languages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Cloudinary to avoid file duplicates and easily find our files through metadata, as well as to store and transform our assets for our site and campaigns.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy way for our large company to use/look through all creative assets while having the correct URL needed to be used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when scrolling through large amounts of assets, it becomes laggy. I wish there were an easier way to locate images or if there was some way to search details of an images and it were able to find it.
