A very good tool

  • June 01, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the alerts feature that alerts when there are slow transactions. There is the cross app tracing feature which I have not used but sounds promising. It has got a lot of good documentation on how to use the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not very intuitive due to the nature of the problem it is trying to solve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Monitoring the server.
2. Pre-empt app down times before it affects the customer

Simple & Inutitive

What do you like best about the product?
NewRelic is a simple and intuitive solution that gives detailed performance metrics for every aspect of the environment, in real-time. I love the amount of detail I can receive on very detailed aspects of my software. I am able to view app performance down to specific lines of code. This allows me to see what the code is connected to, effecting and the resources being used.
What do you dislike about the product?
The paid solutions are a bit pricey unless you are looking at it as a scalable solution for your future growth. The only other thing I can think of is that the learning curve is a bit steep for inexperienced users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main business problem we solve using New Relic is the prevention of disasters before they occur. Using this analytic tool we have witnessed a few incidents real time that could potentially effect production users - which we were able to isolate and use emergency change control to fix.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try out the free version first before hopping to the paid solution.

Excellent tool for application and infrastructure monitoring

  • May 09, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of deployment and data capture offers great value to cost of implementation. The primary feature usage is APM for application health and transaction monitoring giving a comprehensive overview of activity lifecycle. Synthetics great tool for post-release regression analysis and uptime monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface and navigation switch between things like APM, Server, Synthetics and Insights are a bit clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application and infrastructure monitoring with alert integration with other products as well as proactive system maintenance and problem identification.

One of the best testing platforms that I've used

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Good interface, they keep it simple. Also, the email notifications are perfect, they come in right when we need them most.
What do you dislike about the product?
I actually wish that they would offer more features (not something I would say about most tech companies that don't do any ONE thing well), but only considering the price we pay. But nevertheless, it is still worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run a website where patients can find and connect to doctors in Latin America.

What do you like best about the product?
I 've been using newrelic for more than 8 years, it was always very reliable and giving me detailed analytics data

Its produce line is growing more and more, i personally think maybe it is time for them to split their products and re-build their UX
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issue analytics

New Relic great for server monitoring

  • January 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
New Relic is a fire-and-forget solution where we set it up once to monitor and report on certain servers, and now it just works and continues to monitor for us and alert when there are issues. Frankly, once we set up the email monitoring, we haven't had to log into the service itself in months- it just continues to work and let us know any time there's an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are few frustrations or other things I particularly dislike about the software- honestly, it has issues so infrequently we barely have to think about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We operate a number of servers at remote sites that are difficult for us to monitor directly, as they are behind the firewalls of the customers. New Relic allows us to maintain visibility to these machines and maintain confidence that they are continuing to operate as expected.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very useful if you require monitoring the state of servers distributed over a wide geographic area

Solid APM for a growing startup

  • January 16, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great interface, automated alerts and general information about the performance of my application. The support is great and I like that it integrates with other tools like PagerDuty.
What do you dislike about the product?
For an early stage startup, the pricing is a bit challenging and wish there was a more basic starter tier. But its a small investment for huge value.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring the performance of cloud-based applications is critical to understanding choke points and also figuring out ways to keep high availability for my customers. Using NewRelic enables me to easily monitor the performance of the application and get automated alerts. We integrated it with PagerDuty so my Ops team can also pinpoint issues detected by PagerDuty using NewRelic. Great service!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There's a lot of tools that are available to monitor performance, but New Relic is by far the best I've seen. You are using a name brand that comes with lots of benefits like great support, documentation and upgrades. You can trust in a vendor that just filed for IPO :)
