What do you like best about the product?
Absolutely love the APM. It's always quick to find out exactly what the problem is. Also, deploy lines are great for helping diagnose performance regressions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that the servers product is deprecated and the front end monitoring is poor at best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps us to diagnose performance bottlenecks.

What do you like best about the product?
Well-organized, almost live views into system capacity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to export charts for permanent storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Load/performance testing and monitoring. So far we've been able to debunk false assumptions about what the system is actually doing.

Comprehensive, but more complex that we needed

  • April 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Well documented monitoring features, good functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
Web interface was quite clunky and cluttered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring the performance of our Rails web app. New Relic helped us identify choke points in our code.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider Rollbar or Skylight as alternatives if you are looking for simple performance and error monitoring for a Rails app.

Helps identify problems quicker than users can see it

What do you like best about the product?
Installation process very easy and it was no difficulties along the way. The interface is very intuitive. Their free plan allows to use it even for very small projects/companies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Android/iOS app is buggy and not many features, so checking performance on the go is not so comfortable. Price is not that big, but it basically doubles the cost of a server.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying errors and performance problems before our users will report them via support requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As it has a free version and very easy installation process, it is definitely worth trying. For small companies/projects basically, there are no close competitors to this product.

New Relic, APM can help you diagnose production issues

  • March 27, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that New Relic is a SAAS solution. I dont have to worry about keeping up with updating a server application on a regular basis. We get new features as they roll out. The agent is simple to install, but some of the plug-ins can be a challenge.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support can sometimes be a pain to work with, since most of our experience is creating tickets and emailing back and forth. Instructions for some for some of the plugins is sometimes not adequate but has become better over the years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a way to tie together performance data with application errors. Many of our teams use it to help diagnose issues by narrowing down the issue to a specific time and looking for correlations between performance problems and application errors.

Not quite as useful as the desktop version

  • January 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you're looking to take a quick glance at your application's performance graphs while you're on the go, you can do that here.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its value is limited because no one would realistically address an issue or do extensive debugging on a mobile device. I feel like they are trying to simply tick the box off that says "Has mobile application", rather than give engineers a tool that they could realistically use to resolve problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to maintain an eye on application performance when I'm out and about. That's not a positive thing, because it kinda messes with the whole idea of work-life-balance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the desktop version with all of the tools.
