Perfect tool for business

What do you like best about the product?
tracing and analyzing is the best one for performance. The first perception assumes that APM is about speeding up some arbitrary method performance and the second assumes that performance management is just about discovering that something is slow. Neither of these two is what we at dynaTrace would consider prime drivers for APM in production. So what does it mean to have APM in production and why do you do it?

The reason our customers need APM in their production systems is to understand the impact that end-to-end performance has on their end users and therefore their business. They use this information to optimize and fix their application in a way that has direct and measurable ROI. This might sound easy but in environments that include literally thousands of JVMs and millions of transactions per hour, nothing is easy unless you have the right approach!

Therefore real APM in production answers the questions and solves problems such as the
What do you dislike about the product?
Your screenshot is blurry and I cannot make out the text. Also, I am not totally sure how to capture the failed/success/timed out status on a PurePath, therefore it would be a struggle to recreate a measure at this point. Updating is not an option as we are headed into peak season.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
application availability was the problem and its improved a lot now.Dynatrace gives you the ability to see applications the way your customers do, which allows teams full operational insight. This insight is the key ingredient to stay competitive in today’s market.

Awareness into where performance matters most
Know each customers journey and interactions with your application
Prioritize performance optimization based on real digital-business outcomes
Better collaboration with IT around a common language based on digital experience
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a really very useful tool for application monitoring and application availability

Deeper insight into Application Performance

  • December 27, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Their synthetics testing is amazing and has helped us a great deal. The ability to see how our application is performing for our end users is what matters most to us. We can performance test all day and night but it will never really give us a true picture of how it performs across multiple ISPs and different geographical locations. This has really helped us realize a lot of our bottlenecks and helped us scale accordingly to meet customer demand in certain areas. A bonus for us is that since Dynatrace acquired Keynote, they have done a really good job at merging the benefits of both tools into a single service platform. Also their customer service is fantastic!
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is great but the licensing could always be cheaper. With the every growing tool set of Ops teams, we find it harder and harder to budget for tooling while ensuring we still have the proper insight into our applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our ability to accurately measure our site reliability and uptime. We are currently leveraging the DynatraceAPI to gather metrics and send them out to wider audience on a daily basis and at the same time get a true benchmark of how all of our applications are performing across multiple providers and geographical locations. We also using this tool to help us better gauge customer impact during our postmortem process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Now with the acquisition of Keynote, Dynatrace is certainly a top contender in the APM/RUM space.

Dynatrace Performance Monitoring

  • December 21, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Installation and application instrumentation is relatively easy. Once instrumented, Dynatrace AppMon collects a lot of information out of the box. All of the data is accessible from easy to create charts and dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation of client software that is version dependent on the Dynatrace AppMon server can be a little tricky to navigate in organizations where installing software on a workstation must pass through security checkpoints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace AppMon helps to narrow the focus of performance problems so that you start looking closer to the problem. It also provides the ability to understand how problems affect customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend the time to learn how to navigate Dynatrace AppMon. There is a ton of valueable data collected, but it will take time to understand how to find what you need.

Find, diagnose, and resolve critical production issues.

  • December 21, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is really fantastic at automatically gathering all performance data and doing intelligent analysis to understand the health of our systems. Having all the performance data tied together across systems has helped us track down critical and difficult issues and resolve them quickly. The 'purepath' technology that traces a customers interaction from their browser through all the systems (web server, JVM, database, and other interconnected services) ties all the information together to help us see the big picture and more quickly pinpoint problems. This deep dive capability is truly one of the biggest features to help us out in the past. We've been reviewing and starting to take a closer look at the new Dyntrace AI feature. This feature takes all the data points and does an automatic analysis of a million pieces of data to help determine root cause of problems automatically.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is little that I dislike. I've been using the tool for many years and have seen great improvements in the capabilities and interface. Clearly still moving in the right direction with the intelligent analysis built in to help pinpoint performances issues quickly. I expect to see continued improvements in this area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We monitor performance and use the tool to detect degradation of service to our customers. It has been essential in diagnosing and resolving critical customer issues. We have realized the tool has tremendous capabilities that help diagnose and resolve some of our most difficult challenges. The UEM functionality is also helpful for
