Kion allows easy management of all our customer environments.
What do you like best about the product?
I use Kion on a daily basis and love the ease that it allows me to manage multiple accounts. The controls that we can use via CloudRules and RBAC Roles help us limit access when needed, and also add important CloudFormation templates to our AWS environments. I also love the ease of integration between our Active Directory and how we can use security groups in AD to control access in Kion.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found that navigating through the 'Organization' tab can be sometimes cumbersome and it is not always easy to find an account or OU that you are searching for. Even with the search bar on the left, clicking on a Parent OU won't reveal all of the accounts as there may be another OU layer between Parent OU and accounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our most important need is to control access to our customers for their environments and allowing engineers with different roles to have different levels of access. Kion helps us accomplish this task seamlessly and even allows us to create customized roles when necessary to provide flexibility to our customers.

Great governance solution with financials and compliance built in.
What do you like best about the product?
Kion allows customers to centralize financial reporting, compliance reporting, account/subscription access, and identity management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much, could use some work on scalability for very large enterprises.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance at scale and cross-CSP.
Kion has the ability to be a lifesaver for Enterprises at scale.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability for Kion to have inherited rules similar to AWS SCPs from one place, regardless of the cloud can not be spoken about enough. Having one "single pane of glass" for GCP, AWS and Azure is incredible and Kion does it the right way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kion has a steep learning curve, and while it takes some time to get to understand the nuances of the product, once you think you get through the curve, they release new features that you have to learn (not that new features is a bad thing).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kion has provided me with the ability to manage federation into all of the CSPs, Compliance scanning for all CSPs, Budgeting and Forecasting for all CSPs, and because of this we can manage what would have normally taken 4 other tools in one place.
Good product with more potential
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to easily login to any cloud management consoles or APIs that I have access to
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of CLI SSO support; I would like to have access to multiple AWS profiles without the need to manually edit my AWS config files every time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I personally use it for getting quick access to cloud management; our business also uses it heavily for account creation and billing support
Love the tool and greatly improved our cloud governance and Access management processes!
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use UI. Cloud Governance is easy to implement. Love the API first approach which helped us to develop custom automation processes for access managementment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to improve the app performance further. Waiting for the event-driven architecture to better improve performance. Need better automation processes for budget management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud governance, Access management, and budget management. It helps 1000+ users in our org to login into AWS accounts and perform their day-to-day actions. Also helps with account provisioning automation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Would strongly recommend to other users who are early in their cloud journey to adopt kion and build a cloud governance strategy for their organization.
The best cloud governance solution out there!
What do you like best about the product?
Kion helps us maintain security, compliance, and financial control throughout our cloud infrastructure. It has numerous templates that support all of the large cloud providers including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure!
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to consider anything about this product as a dislike. The only thing that comes to mind is that it would be nice if the dashboard page was a bit more customizable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kion helps us to ensure that specific security templates and configurations are applied to all of our cloud accounts. It allows us to control who has access to which environment and the capabilities that they have in those environments.
So far from what I can tell I can see that Kion can be useful for Gov customers.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the single dashboard to view multiple clouds. I am still very junior to Kion but I can see it being very useful across multiple clouds, Azure, AWS and Google. AWS IAM sounds like the best piece of Kion.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little difficult to configure. And PAYG Azure subscriptions are not supported by Kion which makes demo of the product difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kion has been assisting some of STS customers and engaging with us to complete the setup.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Better documentation in the setup.
A great software, backed by an excellent team!
What do you like best about the product?
The software continues to improve over time and the team is responsive. The platform itself also provides an easy way to view costs and deploy these 'cloud rules'.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being one of the larger customers, we run into issues and bugs others do not. Examples are our users generating extra entries that clogs api requests and our cloud rules having issues deploying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing our users to easily access their accounts and for us to easily deploy accounts in minutes. We are definitely more productive and it has allowed us to do other work.
Very useful for having a central portal for logging into every account.
What do you like best about the product?
As a It's super easy to just find the account I need to log into, grab thee login credentials for a quick CLI command, or bring up the console for more detailed work. My managers can let me view the proper accounts that I'm supposed to have access to. My managers like the ability to quickly send cloudformation scripts to new accounts to comply for compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The billing options seem very useful, but it never feels like it's up-to-date. I always have to go back to the AWS billing console to be absolutely sure that the stuff on screen is the right information. When using credits to pay for accounts, the billing info just doesn't show up (it says I spent 0% of a planned 10,000). Perhaps this is due to misconfiguration, but I don't feel like I can trust it as a source of truth when it comes to billing. The API is also confusing, lacking in features that also should be there (why can I create a billing account/source?) and changes very often, making it unreliable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to manage a bunch of accounts at once. We have an account that manages important DNS, we have accounts for specific projects, and we have our own dev accounts. It would be a nightmare if I needed to manage these credentials manually.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
See how it compares to using Amazon SSO.
