Easy Onboarding but Outdated Features
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Domo is pretty easy to get familiar with. This ease of use makes onboarding smoother and helps in making processes easier to flush out.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's outdated, ETL doesn't have as many features as a data warehouse would, SQL capabilities are limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Domo for data management and cleaning our data. It's pretty easy to get familiar with, which makes onboarding easier and streamlines processes.
CEO
What do you like best about the product?
There is an ease of use to the platform and everything is integrated well. It’s nice to have ingestion and visualization in the sameplatform
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing model is opaque and complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives me valuable insight into how my company is performing.
Quick Reports with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy Domo is to use and that it is compatible with SQL syntax, which makes it easy to create Beast Modes and custom calculations. Setting up Domo was very simple, and it helps me create quick ad-hoc reports that would otherwise take me hours to do in Excel, allowing quick sharing with stakeholders. I appreciate using the Domo API call to export to Power Query, enhancing my workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has poor window functions and it's not very flexible when it comes to how I want to display custom formulas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Domo to create data transparency and quickly generate ad-hoc reports that would otherwise take hours in Excel, making it easier to share with stakeholders.
Feature-Rich but Needs Streamlining
What do you like best about the product?
I like Domo for its features and filtering options. The availability of good options and its online usage are beneficial because everyone can use it. The initial setup was pretty easy as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Domo a bit clunky to use, with too many buttons to press. It would be better if it were faster, with fewer buttons, and more automated or user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Domo for building reports and exporting to Excel. I like the features and filtering options, and the online usage makes it accessible to everyone.
Powerful Features, But Needs Refinement
What do you like best about the product?
I like Domo primarily for its Magic ETLs and its ability to centralize data from multiple sources. Magic ETLs are a strong core feature. They’re icentral to how my team builds and maintains our data pipelines. Domo also makes it relatively easy to build dashboards and present data in a visually appealing way, particularly through cards and apps. The wide range of connectors, especially for Salesforce and Eloqua, is a key reason we use the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that some newer features are being rolled out before they’re fully ready, especially Domo Apps. More noticeably, the AI-powered tools often feel underdeveloped or not sufficiently thought through for real-world workflows. Another challenge is visualization flexibility. The current set of chart and card visualization options feels quite limited compared to other modern BI tools. Additionally, the sudden shift from an all-you-can-eat model to the credit consumption model has been disruptive. The lack of a gradual transition has significantly impacted how our team experiments, iterates, and develops in Domo, fundamentally changing our workflow and discouraging exploration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Domo solves the problem of centralizing data from multiple systems and enabling analysts to transform and present that data within a single platform. It allows my team to build and maintain data pipelines using Magic ETLs, connect to key sources like Salesforce and Eloqua, and deliver dashboards that make insights accessible to stakeholders.
User-Friendly but Challenged by ETL Bugs
What do you like best about the product?
I find Domo very user-friendly, which makes it easy to use, especially for nontechnical users. It's pretty easy to share dashboards across teams, which adds a lot of value. I like the filters and the controls that are available.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of little bugs, especially in the ETL process. It doesn't process large datasets that well. The initial setup was a bit hard because it required a lot of data to be introduced and the ETL process was not that straightforward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Domo concentrates all my data into one central place, enabling data creation and visualizations. It's very user-friendly and easy to share dashboards across teams, and it works well for nontechnical users.
All Salesforce Data in One Place, but Needs Easier In-App Tutorials
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to see everything data pulled from Salesforce in a single place
What do you dislike about the product?
I need more guidance on how to use all the features. I wish there were an easy, readily available tutorial that could pop up when needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Domo helps alleviate the need to refer to and cross-reference multiple reports by syncing accounts and data on a single page.
Intuitive for Quick Simple Powerful Reporting, but Complex Needs are Hard to Support
What do you like best about the product?
domo is extremely intuitive for new BI platform users. you can easily stand up a small reporting cycle without knowing the platform in a single day
What do you dislike about the product?
the abstraction of no-code greatly limits the ability to improve or enhance processes. the more complex reporting architecture and needs suddenly become massive complicated and are no longer intuitive and there are not nearly enough resources available between both Domo, Inc and the community to be able to help support and troubleshoot/instruct
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
domo does a lot for us, centralizes business logic and produces reporting and visualization, it's also being considered for AI platform uses since many of our users are familiar with Domo versus a 3rd party AI platform that is a bit distanced from our business logic and data.
Domo from a Transitioning Career Perspective
What do you like best about the product?
Great environment as someone switching careers from design into a data-centric position. I've learned so much about data wrangling, data transformation, and really been able to enhance my design skills through the data visualization tools available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Transitioning our non-profit instance into a consumption-based model has been a bit rough. Conversations with staff have flip-flopped across several different people and it's a bit anxiety-inducing as our current contract is coming up. We don't have large staff so as much as I like using the product, this potential transition is scary, especially if we can't renew our contract as a result of increased cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is a great way to join data from multiple platforms, big and small. We're able to reconcile data between platforms, visualize data, and have real time updates for our users.
Powerful Features, But Needs Better Tutorials for Easier Learning
What do you like best about the product?
Clean interface. Visually appealing display of data that leads to new insight.
What do you dislike about the product?
Steep learning curve once beyond the basics. Needs to have better online line tutorials, similar to Adobe products. Where each lesson builds on the previous.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualizing data allowed me to better identify problems. Namely, things that felt like huge ongoing problems, were in fact not. This allowed me to redirect my energy to more productive tasks.
