Great Customizable Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The Domo platform has proven to be an exceptional tool for data management and analysis. Overall, it is a great platform that stands out due to its ease of use and a wide range of functionalities. It's user-friendly, good performance, data manipulations, connectors, ETL, sharing data and privacy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Areas for improvement are Statistical Analysis. Domo's Beast Mode could benefit from more statistical analysis functions (i.e. median function).
More chart options would enhance the platform’s ability to visualize data in different and potentially more effective ways.
The platform could improve its filtering capabilities by adding more options, such as the ability to hide specific dimensions or measures from users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help my company with data-driven decisions. Manipulate data and merge from multiple data sources to get custom reports.
Awesome BI Tool
What do you like best about the product?
User Interface is awesome. ETL functionality is super cool. Beast mode calculations help in achieving desired results easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain funtions are not supported in Beast mode and ETL. Cannot resize card tiles to specific sizes in dashboard. Dataflow Trigger rules fails when on overlap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Day to Day Operations reporting. KPI Tracking. Large data summarized into actionable insights and quick overview.
Make business decisions based on data.
Great data visualization, but limited on back end
What do you like best about the product?
Domo is easy to learn. It's very intuitive and you can learn what you need to do quickly.. Makes it easy to use on a daily basis. It has great features for data visualization.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit limited when it comes to the analytics tools. Hard to combine data within DOMO.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualizing our data and sharing itout with the organization
Extremely User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Just like the title says--Domo is extremely user friendly. When showing a new user how to navigate, you basically just have to show them the filter views and how to use the date ranges (which isn't difficult). After that, they can pretty much navigate themselves and find insights that are interesting to them.
The coding is pretty intuitive and Domo lets you know if the coding is accepted and valid. The only thing that would improve this process is if it would actually point out the part of the code that isn't working. That said, the knowledge library has a lot information in it and comes in useful quite often when the code isn't working or when you don't quite know how to do something.
Domo excels when being used for visuals. If you're looking for a software that makes it easy to pull in data and create visuals based off of it, this is it. The development team continues to add more features and to make Domo more capable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The coding language for Domo, while not difficult, is slightly different from other languages. It's mostly intuitive, but there are a few quirks that you have to be aware of. They're still working on developing some aspects, as well, so certain things like user editable fields are not currently an option. However, they are continuously improving and working on adding more functionality, so I don't find this to be concerning. It is not a CRM, so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't it (yet--maybe they'll develop that in the future).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to Domo, we didn't have a great way to visualize our data (other than through data sheets and Excel graphs). This has made it easy to have many visuals and tables that automatically update once the data flows have updated. For those of us who are more visual, it has been amazing. Insights are easy to find and easy to retain. With the data streams that we have coming in, it's easy to merge them into tables to show more visuals and insights than we ever had available to us before. We are also finding that there are many people in various aspects of our business that are able to use the software for tasks or data that we hadn't thought of before.

Robust BI Platform for Technical Users
What do you like best about the product?
1. Domo allows for the creation of tailored data experiences. As a Domo creator, you have great flexibility and control over what the user sees, and how the user can interact with the data.
2. It is easy to automate user managment on Domo, even at large scales.
3. It is easy to create new content on Domo. New creators can be trained with little effort.
4. Domo has an abundance of visualization types to answer the vast majority of business questions. There is also the option to create custom visuals with D3 Bricks.
5. Domo has excellent customer support, with teams available at all times to help with technical and nontechnical issues.
6. Domo has extreme flexibility with regard to ingesting and writeback of data. Tools like workbench, webforms, and file uploads make it easy to get data into the system. Email reporting is reliable and helpful.
7. Data lineage tools make it easy to maintain complex dataflows.
8. Magic ETL is straightforward to use and easy to maintain. Notes and comments can be left at each step allowing for documentation of rationale behind business calculations.
9. Smart text is very helpful for displaying the latest time of dataset updates, informing the end user of recency of the data.
10. Jupyter integration allows for sophisticated manipulation and visualization techniques.
11. Doc cards allow for the embedding of business procedures into Domo. Version history is included with this feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. There is a high start-up cost (capital and time) to establish a useful data warehouse.
2. Internal proccesses and procedures must be created and maintained to ensure that all Domo creators on the instance are creating cohesive content.
3. Once the schema for a dataset is created, it is hard to alter. Changing column names has a ripple-down effect though downstream content including datasets and cards, breaking content.
4. The alerts are relatively simple, preventing the user from creating alters / triggers on detailed data events.
5. Domo requires the use of a mouse, which slows down development times.
6. Domo lacks the ability to mass-edit content, applying similar changes to multiple cards or dashboards at once.
7. Dashboard management is clunky. The order in which dashbaords appear on the left ribbon must be determined manually. There is no option to rank dashboards alphabetically, etc... This is only a problem if the instance has many dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Business facts: Sales, inventory, headcount, etc... Helps maintain and enforce a single source of truth.
2. Report automation
3. Analysis: Efficient Staffing, YOY performance, geographic location of customer base, etc...
Easy to deploy and used to implement end clients' KPI dashboards and various metrics
What is our primary use case?
We use Domo to implement our end clients' KPI dashboards and various metrics.
What is most valuable?
All our client SLAs and daily and weekly dashboards are tracked on Domo. Since all our SLAs are available on Domo, we use it to predict whether we will meet our SLAs. The solution has the flexibility of using multiple connectors. We write our custom code to integrate with Domo and then generate insights. The solution's integration is very easy and friendly, and anybody can learn it.
What needs improvement?
If Domo had a Copilot feature, you could interact with the graphs and talk to the graphs and tables.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Domo for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution has good stability.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used a different solution called Tableau. We switched to Domo because it was better than Tableau in customization and ease of deployment.
How was the initial setup?
The solution’s initial setup is very easy.
What about the implementation team?
The solution’s deployment took a few weeks.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is deployed on the cloud in our organization. The solution's visualization feature is good and meets whatever most of our customers want. It has all the standard charts and typical drill-downs, and it's quite easy. I would recommend the solution to other people who are considering using it.
Overall, I rate Domo a nine out of ten.
