What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Domo is that it brings together a wide range of powerful tools such as Magic ETLs, Workflows, Data Connectors, and visualizations into a single, unified platform. This integration saves me from jumping between multiple systems and makes data management, automation, and reporting much more efficient.
I also appreciate the ease of building data pipelines visually through Magic ETL, the extensive library of connectors for integrating with external systems, and the ability to quickly create and share dashboards with stakeholders. Domo’s permissions and governance tools also help ensure that data access is controlled and auditable across teams.
Overall, Domo simplifies complex data operations and enables faster decision-making, especially for cross-functional teams that need access to real-time insights.

Areas for Improvement in Domo:
1. Workflows Lack Flexibility and Intuitiveness:
While Domo Workflows are functional, they are not intuitive and come with a steep learning curve. Once deployed, workflows cannot be edited, which limits agility and forces you to rebuild from scratch for even minor changes. They work best when dealing with data already inside Domo but are not as powerful or flexible as external tools like Make or n8n for broader automation needs.
2. No Semantic Layer:
The lack of a semantic layer makes it harder to standardize business logic across datasets and reports, leading to inconsistencies and increased maintenance overhead.
3. Domo AI Chat Needs Maturity:
Even with all AI readiness checks in place, the Domo AI chat still struggles to interpret queries accurately or return reliable answers. It feels underpowered compared to other AI copilots and could benefit from improved context awareness and language understanding.
4. Embedding Limitations with Domo Everywhere:
Embedding capabilities are limited. For example, it's not currently possible to embed custom apps or forms directly into our website using Domo Everywhere, which restricts how we can extend Domo into customer-facing or external platforms.
5. Limited Form Customization and Availability:
There are very few customization options for forms in Domo. Forms must be part of a workflow or custom app in order to exist, which makes quick, standalone form use cases difficult or impossible without additional development.
6. App Bugs and Filtering Issues:
There are noticeable bugs when working with Domo Apps. For instance, when copying dashboards into apps, filters often lag or fail to apply properly, leading to a frustrating and unreliable user experience within the app environment.
7. Charging Credits for Usage Reports
Domo charges credits for accessing certain usage and governance reports, which feels unreasonable. These types of reports should be included as part of the platform’s core offering, especially for a business intelligence solution. As a BI company, I expect more transparency and access to usage data without additional cost.

Domo is good
What do you like best about the product?
It’s easy to use and aggregate data if you don’t have a data warehouse
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to find training sometimes limitations on creating special admin groups. Also once a user is created they have to say with that data set or it goes away even if they leave. This might have changed. Integrating with a database tool 2 to 4 weeks to find the right person

My company didn't have a data warehouse in place when we needed to start creating dashboards, so we were able to use the Domo connectors to bring in data from a variety of sources and build dashboards quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of folders make navigation/organization a bit odd, and I don't feeling the admin/data governance is very intuitive. Also, there's some weird quirks about drilling down from the visuals.

What do you like best about the product?
We've found Domo to be an extremely effective tool for building dashboards from our Jira instances. Its native Jira connector makes it easy to pull in data across multiple projects and instances, while Magic ETL allows us to clean, transform, and normalize complex issue data—no heavy SQL required. This has enabled us to create dashboards tailored for engineering teams, QA, and leadership, providing visibility into sprint progress, backlog trends, and SLA performance in real time.
Domo’s flexibility and ease of use have allowed both technical and non-technical users to derive insights quickly. Automated refreshes, custom alerts, and role-based sharing have improved cross-team collaboration and reduced manual reporting overhead. As our data needs grow, Domo continues to scale well and has become a key part of our reporting and project tracking workflows.

What do you dislike about the product?
Domo has been a powerful tool for building dashboards from our Jira instances. While some customization does require a bit of engineering effort—especially when working with complex JQL queries or transforming nested issue data—the platform is intuitive overall. Its Magic ETL and native Jira connector make it easy to shape and visualize data, and once set up, dashboards provide real-time insights across engineering, QA, and leadership with minimal maintenance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing advanced dash boarding for our needs.
One of the easiest data visualization platform to use
What do you like best about the product?
Domo is super easy to use. It is a one stop solution to manage all your data, clean data using ETLs and create visualizations. Their new app feature is my favorite it makes navigating through cards so much easy and generate valuable insights from the data
What do you dislike about the product?
All the new features such as apps and AI capabilities are not completely developed yet but I am sure these will also get better with time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have data flowing from number of sources and with Domo it is easy to import all the data in one place and process and clean the data using highly efficient ETLs. This reduces processing time drastically and also makes it easier to manage large volume of data from multiple sources
Part of our Campus Initatives
