Empowering marketing and business to accelerate customer growth
What do you like best about the product?
We use Tealium IQ to manage thousands of our marketing pixels and build customer segments for optimizing our customer growth. Before we implemented Tealium, it was a long, arduous process to keep marketing data up-to-date across our site. With Tealium IQ, we have moved ownership to our marketing and martech teams, which empowers them to track, update, and optimize our media efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
With any new service, it takes time to properly audit our current pixel implementation, write up scalable specs, and prioritize the work within our dev backlogs. However, once we got Tealium implemented, we've accelerated our tag management, and have given much needed time back to our tech teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved the manual task of having to add/remove/manage pixels, giving time back to our tech teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Analyze the time it takes to manage your current tracking pixels and data. I guarantee the initial investment will pay off in multitudes.
Easy way to manage our web site tag integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Tealium allows us to easily manage what tags load on what pages in a GDPR compliant manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current GIT integration of tagging code is fairly primitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping the trust of our customers with respect to the data we collect and share with out partners.
Easy to use yet powerful
What do you like best about the product?
Open platform with tag templates for most martech vendors. Flexibility with using extensions to provide solutions specific to our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can have a better sorting since most of it it's in a row form.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It powers most of our martech solutions and it's easy to use and maintain.
Outstanding Centralized TMS Platform

Automating customer interactions with AudienceStream and measuring for success!
What do you like best about the product?
AudienceStream offers up an easy to use interface to set up custom segments to enhance your customer targeting. After configuring data sources with your desired actionable data points, it is a breeze to create audiences based on behavior. AudienceStream is THE one-stop shop to centralize your data and activate your audiences in real time through your existing MarTech stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have a technical background, in all aspects AudienceStream is the next best thing since sliced bread! If you don't have a technical background the initial configuration can be challenging, however, this is the case with any platform implementation. Once configured properly a growing user base of analysts can really take the reins and soar with the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AudienceStream is solving a growing number of business questions every day. Within the platform, we are able to target the right audiences at the right time with the right action. We are able to re-engage our readers and drive them back to our sites, measure the most successful touchpoints for a given segment, and ultimately drive our target conversions.
Initially, we implemented the basics like retargeting on offsite channels to drive return visits. We are currently in the midst of building multi-channel campaigns to drive online orders. And just around the corner, we are planning to deliver customized onsite messaging and personalized experiences on our site in real time.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Invest the upfront time to design and architect your solution with Tealium. While the platform can basically do anything, attempting to connect every platform and do everything at once has the potential to lead to disastrous results. Start small, iterate on measurable success, and grow the complexity of your platform with a clear end game in mind. If you follow those steps you are certain to be successful and see returns on your investment in no time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our initial use cases included replacing our cart abandon emails through another 3rd party service, which has been surprisingly simple, immediately saving money. Also, strategies for replacing internal manual processes with Audience Stream doing the heavy lifting have proved very fruitful. Coordinating campaigns against specific audiences has been especially easy, where it certainly was not before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Build strong use cases and procedures for governance
Anything is possible with Tealium AudienceStream
What do you like best about the product?
It kicks off with a bang:
It comes with robust analytical tools and tracking mechanisms right out of the box. They have a responsive and thorough deployment team who are committed to ensuring that it's configured to meet your specific needs right out of the gate, no matter how nuanced.
The solutions are scalable.
I've used Tealium AudienceStream in my previous company as well as my current company. Each company had wildly different use cases, but Tealium handled them both with aplomb. No matter the project, I never have to stop and ask myself whether Tealium offers the functionality. The one time they didn't have a solution out of the box, they built a custom connector for us.

What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a while to understand the difference between some of their products.
There's TiQ, which manages tags.
There's AudienceStream and EventStream, which process user's activity (per your specifications) in real time.
There's AudienceStore and EventStore, which store the data generated from AudienceStream and EventStream as semi-structured JSON data. Without an extract-transform-load (ETL) process, there isn't much you can do with this data. However, you can build one for free using Python. If you want to build an ETL like this, you should do the following in python.
import json
import pandas
Since this is a list of semi-structured json objects, it needs to be restructured before it can be parsed. use this line of code:
data = "[" + data.replace('}', '}, ', data.count('}')-1) + "]"
then you have to get that data to be recognized by python as having a json structure. use this:
json_data = json.loads(data)
then you have to normalize this data. use this code:
df1 = json_normalize(json_data)
There are more steps that must be taken after this point, but that will get you on your way.
However, if your organization doesn't have someone skilled in Python, you will want to purchase AudienceDB and/or EventDB. Those services convert the semi-structured data from audiencestore/eventstore into a table that can be queried using SQL.
So in short, there's nothing I don't love about Tealium. It just requires effort and business logic to maximize your results.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to stitch data about our user's behaviors when generating quotes online to sales that are later made over the phone. Without Tealium, this would not be possible.
AudienceStream is Awesome
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and the way it has allowed us to connect many disparate data sources to enable more granular segment and audience building.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to publish versions live to the site, we can only save as.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many siloed sources of data which would cause weeks of dev resources to build pipelines between the systems is not needed anymore. We can do everything we want to connect the sources of data in Audience
