Independent Data Layer That Delivers
What do you like best about the product?
Tealium Customer Data Hub stands out for its strong real-time data collection and activation capabilities, allowing businesses to unify customer data across multiple touchpoints efficiently. Its tag management system is highly flexible and reduces dependency on development teams, which accelerates implementation cycles. The platform also excels in event-based data streaming, making it easy to trigger personalized experiences across channels. Additionally, its integration ecosystem is robust, enabling seamless connectivity with a wide range of marketing, analytics, and data platforms. Overall, it provides a powerful foundation for building scalable and data-driven marketing strategies.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the main downsides of Tealium Customer Data Hub is the learning curve, especially for teams without prior experience in tag management or event-driven architectures. Initial setup and governance can become complex as implementations scale, requiring strong data discipline. Additionally, debugging and troubleshooting in real-time pipelines can be challenging without deep technical knowledge. The cost can also be a concern for smaller organizations, particularly when compared to lighter-weight alternatives. Finally, while the platform is powerful, some UI elements and workflows could be more intuitive to improve day-to-day usability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tealium Customer Data Hub helps solve the challenge of fragmented customer data across multiple channels and systems. Before implementing it, data collection and activation were siloed, making it difficult to build consistent customer profiles or trigger real-time use cases. With Tealium, we can centralize event data, standardize tracking, and activate audiences in real time across marketing and analytics platforms. This has improved data quality, reduced time to market for campaigns, and enabled more personalized customer experiences, ultimately driving better engagement and more efficient marketing operations.
CDP Experience
What do you like best about the product?
That you can transform attributes and create new ones based on the events ingested. And that there are a lot of connectors for activating data. Also the new features about AI are really interesting
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot of steps to create attributes and configure audiences, and the same goes for functions. Still, it’s good to know that new features are coming to improve this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us create customer profiles by identifying who our customers are and what their main attributes are. This makes it easier to activate personalized campaigns and communications, and to run them across multiple platforms.
Effortless to Use
What do you like best about the product?
The structured setup allows for a highly scalable and customizable data foundation. While it requires upfront planning, it ensures cleaner data, better governance, and more reliable downstream activation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tealium Customer Data Hub often requires a complex and time-intensive setup, as teams need to carefully design data layers, event schemas, and integrations upfront. Without strong planning and technical expertise, implementations can become misconfigured, leading to downstream data quality and activation issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
t simplifies managing multiple analytics and marketing tags while ensuring consistent tracking across our site. This reduces manual effort, minimizes errors, and allows us to quickly deploy and update tracking without heavy engineering support.

Powerful Personalization That Drives Meaningful Business Outcomes
What do you like best about the product?
It's a powerful tool that allows us to unlock amazing personalized use cases in our mobile and digital space to create meaningful business outcomes. We've closed the blind spots in our digital space and engaged in very personalized journeys for our existing customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The time to learn the tool and also code/configure the data extensions and functions to enable follow-on use cases requires specialized knowledge and centralized teams. Looking forward to the intuitive AI layer that is coming to empower our power business users and product teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Closing blind spots in our digital customer journeys and helping us capture incremental sales opportunities, coupled with personalized journeys for customers to help them re-engage where they left off when returning to our mobile app or website.
Helps Us Target the Right Customers
What do you like best about the product?
It helps target customers for the best profit by making sure they’re reached based on their profile and what they like or dislike, which supports retention. It’s also easy to use and straightforward to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven’t found any reason not to like CDH. I’m also not sure why this section requires 150 characters about things you dislike—it feels like it’s prompting negative feedback.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Assisting with tagging proper customers for things that relate to their customer profile. Cost savings in ad cost. Assist with customer retention as the information is appropriate for said customer.
Low-Code Ease, But Needs Better Version Control
What do you like best about the product?
I like Tealium Customer Data Hub for its low-code environment, which reduces overhead by not requiring everything to be coded in JavaScript, and the ease with which I can publish and deploy changes. It's nice that it operates separately from the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the version control and GitHub integration lacking, especially since we have no public repo available. It's also difficult to navigate the version history in TIQ. Additionally, the migration was tough at first because we didn't understand the low-code environment and vendor templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tealium Customer Data Hub for tagging in marketing and analytics. It's a tag management system with a low-code environment, making it easy to publish and deploy without coding overhead.
Tealium Empowers Marketers to Self-Serve with Fast, Easy Testing
What do you like best about the product?
Tealium enables the marketing team to self-serve without relying on IT, thanks to its point-and-click interface. This is especially efficient for POCs, with faster turnaround times and an easier way to test ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mapping out all data sources and building a data foundation that can be trusted is a huge project and can take months rather than weeks. So if you’re looking for a quick win, you may often feel frustrated and see less value than you expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
True real-time actionability. If a customer abandons a shopping cart, Tealium can trigger a personalized email or notification within milliseconds, while the consumer is still online. It’s not like some other vendors that rely on batch processing and only refresh a few times a day, which isn’t truly real time.
Tealium Became Our Source of Truth for Customer Data and Segmentation
What do you like best about the product?
Tealium has become our source of truth for customer data - it gives us a single, reliable view of our customers that we use to power segmentation and drive marketing toward our highest value audiences. The ability to identify and activate affinity-based segments across channels has been a game changer for how we think about lifecycle and loyalty marketing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like most enterprise CDPs, making changes often requires IT involvement, which can slow down our ability to move quickly as a marketing team. More self-service capability for marketers would go a long way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tealium is solving our customer identity and data fragmentation problem - giving us one reliable view of the customer across touchpoints. That single source of truth is what powers our segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and loyalty programs. Without it, we’d be marketing to the same person like they’re three different people across in-store, online, and app.
A Robust Customer Data Platform for Real-Time Data and Personalization
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Tealium Customer Data Hub is how it brings everything data collection, identity resolution, and activation into one unified ecosystem. Having worked across healthcare, finance, and e-commerce, I’ve seen how fragmented customer data can get, and Tealium really solves that at scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Tealium Customer Data Hub is that the learning curve can be pretty steep, especially for teams that are new to event-driven architectures or customer data platforms. While tools like Tealium iQ, EventStream, and AudienceStream are powerful, understanding how they all fit together and designing a clean, scalable data layer takes time and experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In most organizations, data lives in silos analytics tools, marketing platforms, CRMs, and backend systems all capture pieces of the customer journey, but they don’t talk to each other effectively. Tealium helps unify that through a standardized data layer and centralized event collection. This has been a big benefit for me because it ensures consistency in data across tools like Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and downstream marketing platforms, reducing discrepancies and debugging effort.
