Enables our employees to focus more on servicing our members rather than being bogged down by mundane tasks

  • October 23, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We're a financial institution, and we started using UiPath for small, simple processes and day-to-day tasks, such as adding and removing users and updating information, but we're also exploring opportunities to automate lending processes.

We typically evaluate a process first to see if it's appropriate for automation. Sometimes, we've identified bad processes and needed to update documentation before we can implement them.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath has allowed our employees to focus more on servicing our members rather than being bogged down by mundane tasks. In the last year, we have saved about 6,500 hours for our users, equating to the time of two full-time employees.

With UiPath, we've saved costs, increased productivity, and reduced stress on our employees. It has saved our employees time. They're thinking more about their processes instead of just doing what they're told. It places more onus on employee creativity.

What is most valuable?

I primarily work with task capture, which has been valuable. We have created a template for ourselves and reused it for all these processes. Other departments also use it for their procedures, even if the process is not automated.

What needs improvement?

We struggle to demo our processes. For whatever reason, we can't get the bot to run so that someone can watch it simultaneously. We press the button, and it shows that it's done rather than showing how the bot works.

For how long have I used the solution?

We started using UiPath with a partner two years ago and transitioned to handling everything in-house last year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of UiPath is good. We do not encounter issues with logging in or frequent service failures.

How are customer service and support?

I rate UiPath support nine out of 10. Their customer service is good. They are always willing to help us and address our concerns.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What about the implementation team?

We initially used a UiPath partner but have since moved operations in-house. Our in-house experience has been better.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment. The 6,500 hundred hours we saved using UiPath translates to a savings of about $56,000 per year.

What other advice do I have?

I rate UiPath 10 out of 10.

Helped to revamp and update our older systems

  • October 23, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use UiPath to replicate what medical coders do by inputting codes from certain medical systems into another. It also automates our billing cycle, allowing us to input the codes directly into the insurance billing system to receive payments faster.

How has it helped my organization?

Our hospital doesn't get paid if we don't get those codes to the payers fast enough. We wanted to speed up the process of getting paid from insurance companies. A full-time employee can only do so much.

Many of these people who do medical coding don't have college degrees. They're normal people with a lot going on in their lives, so they can't commit to doing this coding every moment of every day. A person can code maybe 10 to 15 records daily, but the bot could do 50. You also don't need to pay bots or give them benefits and physical workspaces. UiPath enables our organization to be more robust in what we can do.

The company doesn't currently prioritize AI use cases, but we're trying to get the leaders to prioritize them by showing them the dollar value. AI is growing. Every year, it's getting bigger.

What is most valuable?

In healthcare, everything is still on paper. People still fax papers to each other. Doctors have a sheet of paper or a packet of information about a patient that they can't read quickly. UiPath's Document Understanding lets doctors get a document that's already processed, and they can ask it questions.

What needs improvement?

We are looking to add AI, such as generative AI, but it requires our organization to implement it. UiPath's chatbots and autopilot require UiPath Assistant on every machine, which is challenging because many people use the same machine in the hospital. Everyone knows how to use Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT. Even a non-technical user can go on OpenAI.com and start chatting. But with UiPath, if you want to use their chatbot or autopilot, you need UiPath Assistant.

For how long have I used the solution?

My enterprise has been using UiPath since 2021, but my team inherited the solution from another team in 2023.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution just went live recently, so its stability is not yet fully determined.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, as UiPath helped to revamp and update our older systems.

How are customer service and support?

I rate UiPath support nine out of 10. UiPath support is amazing, especially with hypercare.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We still use Power Automate and UiPath together. Our system is entirely on-prem because some of our hospital systems must be.

How was the initial setup?

We build and deploy some of the automations in-house, but we also had a parnter build some of our stuff.

What was our ROI?

There has been a significant return on investment. The cost of replacing employees with UiPath has shown significant savings. We probably saved $45 million this year, and we're projecting $80 million in savings next year.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

UiPath is more expensive than other automation services, but the ROI justifies the cost.

What other advice do I have?

I rate UiPath 10 out of 10.

Document Understanding has improved healthcare workflow efficiency and reduced human errors

  • October 23, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We are a diagnostic laboratory that receives tissue samples from all over the country daily. To manage these, we implement UiPath for Document Understanding to process requisitions from clinical providers. This information is then loaded into our laboratory information system, enabling us to carry out the diagnostic process. We have a dozen bots operating across various functions, assisting in tasks such as screening resumes in HR and data entry on patient information.

How has it helped my organization?

Automation has increased our productivity. In my three years at the company, the number of employees working on data entry has grown from 15 to more than 50. We needed an alternative because we couldn't have 150 employees in one room doing data entry. UiPath has improved our efficiency by 60 percent and reduced errors by 87 percent in the assessment process.

In healthcare, our top priority is to eliminate as many mistakes as possible. A mistake in our business can kill someone. Our second objective is to build better security measures to protect patient privacy and the sensitive information we handle. We also hope to improve efficiency and help our employees work better. It has helped take people away from mundane tasks and allowed them to focus on what truly needs their expertise.

We've achieved some of these outcomes so far, but we've only been automating for a year. I came to this event last year knowing nothing about UiPath, but I met some people and hooked up with a partner to get started. I met some people. We got hooked up with a partner who could help us get started. Then, I started hiring developers. We're still early on in this relationship, but we've already seen tremendous gains in efficiency and error reductions.

What is most valuable?

Document Understanding has been particularly helpful, and so has UiPath's ability to interface with other applications. AI is the next phase. Document Understanding can only process about half the documents that come in. We need the AI component to start helping so that the half we can't process has a methodology on what needs to be done with it.

AI automation is a high priority. A year ago, I was the chief operating officer, and now I'm the chief innovation officer. Our CEO saw that we needed to have a dedicated technology group looking for solutions, and he asked me to move into this role. I have seven full-time developers on my team who are specifically looking for things to automate. When I saw the demonstration this morning, my mind was blown. They're doing so many things that we could do that will take us to the next level. We can have AI interact with our pathologists and assist them in diagnostic research. We can apply UiPath across our billing processes and everywhere.

What needs improvement?

While not a negative remark toward UiPath itself, our initial partner was limited in helping us achieve our goals. We are now directly working with UiPath support, which has been exceptional.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using UiPath for about a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I think it's we I think we we I think I don't have any barriers in my head of what we can do do or not do with it.

How are customer service and support?

I rate UiPath support 10 out of 10. It's outstanding. Working with them has been a game-changer.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use any different solution before adopting UiPath.

What about the implementation team?

We initially worked with a partner who was limited in aiding our objectives, leading us to work directly with UiPath support.

What was our ROI?

We saw a 60 percent improvement in efficiency and significantly reduced errors.

What other advice do I have?

I rate UiPath 10 out of 10.

Employees' menial labor is reduced, and they can spend more time interacting with customers

  • October 23, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We're an insurance company, so we use UiPath to enter customer and policy data. Four of us work on the data side of bot development, which is our department's priority. We have multiple inflows of different ideas and use cases coming from various departments that ensure the company runs smoothly and efficiently.

Implementations and updates allow for frequent email communications on Monday mornings weekly. Our team sends out email notifications if anything significant is urgent. We're still working on some of the aspects that we're looking to solve by attending this event. We've got some integrations that UiPath provides.

How has it helped my organization?

We have a limited staff and a lot of work. UiPath tackles repetitive jobs that people don't want to do but must do them daily. We've saved on reporting, and that has mitigated costs, so we've seen revenue advantages.

Our customers and employees are happier. Employees' menial labor is reduced, and they can spend more time interacting with customers. Our customers like this because they can talk to a real person who will follow up on their issues. It's generated a lot of buzz in the community. Customers can talk to our agents faster and get the information they need quicker

What is most valuable?

We like the RPA style and constant data flow. It keeps working when our employees aren't.

What needs improvement?

It would help if UiPath fixed bugs in the software before they updated.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've used UiPath for a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath is stable and mature. They've been around for a while and are constantly improving.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

UiPath has kept up with our growth, as we do five to 10 acquisitions annually.

How are customer service and support?

UiPath support has been tremendous. They're responsive and ready to hop on a call with you to solve problems live.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment was fairly straightforward, but we have to build automations before we could solve problems.

What was our ROI?

We've saved over a thousand hours of labor this year alone in various forms, such as reporting that was previously generated manually and sent out or forms that were filled out and put into the system. Those are now automated through various methods. It has saved double the standard employee's salary.

What other advice do I have?

I rate UiPath 10 out of 10.

Facilitates efficient workflow management across industries

  • May 14, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use this solution for automating customer processes. I have been working with this for almost seven years and am responsible for automating various business processes across different industries such as finance, telecommunications, and airlines. I have experience working with numerous sectors and do not use it for personal reasons.

What is most valuable?

Document Understanding allows me to track information not only from structured documents but also from unstructured documents through artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques. These are excellent tools. Additionally, the process understanding enables me to track and manage document processing effectively. Ease of building automation includes utilizing tools to record the process and generate the initial process design document.

What needs improvement?

I have just generated the default pilot. I believe another option for the tool could be voice interaction. For example, similar to using assistants like Alexa, it would be beneficial to integrate voice commands with the UI to create an Excel spreadsheet and populate a data table.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have experienced stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have experienced scalability issues.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate customer service a ten out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

The number of solutions we select depends on client needs. My company uses various software platforms without preference, and it depends on client requirements and objectives.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is efficient if all infrastructure requirements are met, faster than Azure's requirement. It could take about an hour.

What about the implementation team?

We have our checklist that describes every document. We ensure everything is checked. We are a consulting company, and we have expertise in this field.

What was our ROI?

If you lose higher Wi-Fi parameters, it saves additional time. The license cost is slightly higher compared to other providers, yet the benefits are justifiable.

What other advice do I have?

The developers are very client-focused, always looking for feedback and adding additional value in every version. I was one of the first UiPath MDPs, and it enables a lot of learning opportunities. If you're keen on learning, you can benefit greatly.

UiPath is accessible with various language options, breaking down communication barriers. Many developers benefit from this, especially since it's free. Fatigue can lead to errors, but automation helps reduce such issues, particularly in financial processes. In terms of digital transformation, UiPath accelerates the process and reduces costs.

Overall, I believe UiPath is the best tool available. I rate the overall solution ten out of ten.

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Microsoft Azure

Has a lot of use cases, great automation capabilities, and helpful support

  • April 29, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have hundreds of use cases for UiPath. Mainly, it's used for AP and AR automation, outboarding, HR, and for vendors and customers.

How has it helped my organization?

It's helped us reduce manual work for our employees and customers.

Having expertise in IPaaS has allowed us to create a lot of automation for our clients that they normally couldn't automate. It's a profitable solution in that sense. Also, it automates many steps that normally would require a lot of FTEs to do that work. You can ensure it's being done on time without any human errors.

What is most valuable?

The UI automation is excellent. Being able to automate clicks on desktop applications and browsers is very helpful. A lot of the other tools are very good at automating online system processes and similar things. However, when it comes to desktop UI automation, they are by far the leader.

What needs improvement?

They're just starting to add a lot of AI functionality, so there's definitely room for improvements in leveraging the latest AI technologies - like GPT, et cetera.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for about eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable. I'd rate its reliability nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's extremely scalable. I'd rate scalability ten out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Most of our technical responses are related to third-party websites changing their designs. You have to deal with those changes. The modern selectors are smarter and can adapt to change. However, if the developer changes a lot of things in the background.

UiPath support is quite good. Sometimes they take a bit to get back to us, however, most of the time, they are pretty responsive.

They do have a higher tier of service that costs more, and they are quite excellent.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use both UiPath and Power Automate. We used to use a tool called Win Automation. We switched from then due to the fact that they were prone to failure and did not have enough tools to meet expectations. They have since been acquired by Microsoft, and Microsoft Power Automate is based on that.

How was the initial setup?

I'd rate the initial setup eight out of ten. It's pretty easy to implement.

We use Azure Virtual Machines to deploy the robots and usually use a lot of the Azure services in conjunction with the robots. The cloud is on UiPath's automation cloud. That's where we have our servers - to manage the robust deployed data on multiple virtual machines.

In terms of maintenance, there are always releases and updates, and then you can usually design your own robots to watch over the other robots, which is really interesting. You have the flexibility to make your own monitoring; if it sees something wrong, you can enter a ticket and then dispatch it to the support team to respond to it.

My whole developer team is involved in maintenance; however, I have specific support team members. There's 28 developers and seven support team members in that group.

What was our ROI?

We witnessed an ROI fairly quickly. For the cost of one developer license, you can produce a lot of automation. The robot license is a 24/7 one-year license. If you can run bots 24 hours nonstop on it when you can run many different processes, each process can save hours, hundreds of hours of time for employees. There's also a lot of savings from your customer side on being able to service things quicker as well. That you can't fully quantify; however, you find you can offer better customer service in terms of speed of transaction, et cetera. Even if you spend $10,000 to $15,000 on a robot license, you quickly recover your costs.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is very competitive. There are some parts of the solution that are considered consumable, and as you consume more, you increase the cost. However, that's similar to other products out there. There might be extra costs for AI units, robot units, and data services. That said, what they give you out of the box for every license is usually sufficient for most enterprises.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a customer, reseller, and partner.

I'd rate UiPath ten out of ten.

I would advise new users that the biggest part is to always sync in reusable components. That will drive your ROI much quicker. If you can reuse pieces or design them in a way that they're reusable, then you can use them across multiple processes instead of redoing the work over and over. Thinking modular from the beginning is going to go a long way.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If you implement the correct logic and exception handling in your code, it seldom makes mistakes

  • February 29, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My company delivers projects to clients based on their requirements. We use the tool for web and UI automation.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath reduces human error. If you implement the correct logic and exception handling in your code, it's seldom wrong. The solution saves time compared to other tools, especially when you are trying to automate something that's complicated. It simplifies complex processes and makes my work easier.

What is most valuable?

I like the Orchestrator and the AI Center. The AI Center has many pre-trained models you can adapt to your requirements. You can train your AI or upload your own model as well. You can use the AI to extract the information from structured or unstructured documents.

UiPath is easy to use and implement. The tool has so many capabilities that we can use without using any code. Everything is there, and it's a low-code solution. We only need to drag and drop the elements and apply the logic.

The UiPath community is helpful. Most of the questions have already been answered on the forum, and you can easily solve your issues there. I've done the UiPath Academy courses. I took the fundamental course and the advanced developer course. I also received an associate developer certification. You can develop a complete understanding of the tool and its capabilities using the Academy.

What needs improvement?

UiPath's processing speed is a little slow. That's its only drawback compared to other tools.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used UiPath for about two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

UiPath is highly stable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Microsoft Power Automate and OpenRPA. I believe UiPath is the best because of its capabilities, but I also think Power Automate is nice. Power Automate has robust integration with Microsoft platforms. That's one thing I like about it.

How was the initial setup?

I found the initial deployment to be difficult, but it became easier once I gained some experience. UiPath doesn't require any maintenance unless there are changes on the website that cause the bot to not work properly. You can find the issue in the error log.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

UiPath is a costly solution. Many of the clients choose another solution after hearing the price.

What other advice do I have?

I rate UiPath ten out of ten. UiPath is the best tool on the market, but the licensing cost is high and many clients don't have the budget. They prefer other tools like Power Automate, OpenRPA, and Automation Anywhere and all that. Otherwise, it's a great product with more capabilities than the other tools.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

It is easy to build automation, helps reduce cost, and reduces human errors

  • February 27, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I work in the banking industry and have used UiPath to automate end-to-end processes for seven projects. I am also currently using UiPath to help our clients automate their RPA lifecycle end-to-end.

In my role within the banking domain, I am typically responsible for complex bots. I currently have two applications and data messaging tasks requiring the creation of BRM reports and their subsequent email delivery to users.

How has it helped my organization?

With my UiPath experience building automation is easy to do.

UiPath enables end-to-end automation. My preferred development process begins with creating Process Definition Documents and thoroughly gathering requirements. I carefully review this information before commencing development. After that, I conduct User Acceptance Testing. Finally, I place the process in hypercare for one or two weeks, depending on the bot's complexity, before moving it to production.

The UiPath User Community is incredibly helpful, especially when I'm stuck on code during research and development.

UiPath is a leading platform for end-to-end automation, offering advanced capabilities for streamlining workflows.

UiPath Academy offers valuable courses that equip learners with both knowledge and practical experience. I recently completed some advanced coursework in the program.

UiPath speeds up and reduces the cost of digital transformation.

UiPath helps organizations reduce costs through automation by minimizing the staff needed to complete tasks.

UiPath helps reduce human error.

UiPath helps free up significant staff time. It can complete tasks in five minutes that would typically take a human seven hours to accomplish.

What needs improvement?

On-premises deployment of UiPath requires a significant amount of RAM for optimal performance.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for just over two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

To ensure the stability of our on-premises UiPath solution, a minimum of 1 TB of RAM is required for optimal performance.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I also work with Automation Anywhere. While both tools offer valuable functionalities, UiPath provides additional features, such as flow and list views, for managing automation workflows. Additionally, UiPath offers an orchestrator capability for centralizing and managing automation, which is not available in Automation Anywhere.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. I can do the deployment myself within ten minutes.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate UiPath ten out of ten.

Maintenance is required for updates.

I recommend UiPath for implementing robotic process automation.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Efficient and scalable robotic process automation with user-friendly interface, extensive set of pre-built activities and vibrant community support

  • January 15, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Our company is considering UiPath and Automation Anywhere for automating a mainframe application. I have explored UiPath, evaluated its capabilities, and completed a use case.

How has it helped my organization?

Building automation with UiPath is exceptionally straightforward. However, clients need to exercise caution by ensuring that the automation doesn't require intricate human logic. If they seek simple automation without incorporating human elements, UiPath facilitates an easy and automatic implementation, excluding the need for advanced AI features.

We leverage UiPath to automate processes aligned with the good cause our company supports. This includes tasks related to warehouse management and maintaining a clean architecture. For instance, activities like clearing out mailboxes, collecting bills, and optimizing server data storage contribute to reducing running costs for the machines involved.

We employ UiPath for comprehensive end-to-end automation in the client's operations. They have successfully automated around two hundred use cases, forming a critical backbone for their extensive operations. The dependency on automation results is notably high, especially in areas like warehouse management, where the efficiency gains are substantial. Enabling automation to handle these tasks daily liberates the workforce from repetitive manual efforts, allowing them to redirect their focus to other crucial aspects of their operations. This strategic use of automation enhances productivity and expedites the completion of automated tasks.

We have a robust user community within UiPath, and I have actively participated in it. Although I wasn't as engaged this year due to a significant impact on the client caused by a cyber attack on their network, the community support has been exceptional. Despite my increased workload in addressing the aftermath of the incident, the UiPath user community has proven to be like a supportive family. Whenever I've raised queries or sought assistance, the responses have been prompt and helpful.

The advantages of using UiPath are evident in the efficiency gains achieved by minimizing human efforts. For instance, when uploading a report to SAP or executing a job in Insight SAP, these processes can often take several hours. Without automation, users may be tied up in monitoring these tasks, risking potential human errors due to prolonged attention. However, implementing UiPath effectively liberates users from this prolonged monitoring. Automation ensures that tasks run seamlessly according to protocol, allowing users to easily obtain results and simultaneously engage in other important activities. The goal is not to overcomplicate processes but rather to streamline and optimize them for enhanced productivity throughout the day.

UiPath has played a crucial role in reducing our on-premises footprint and enhancing the solution's capacity. The company we're currently assisting primarily focuses on order management, dealing with a significant influx of orders. By leveraging UiPath, we've effectively streamlined the order management process, optimizing the solution's capacity to handle a large volume of orders.

Our team actively engages with the academy courses provided by UiPath. As UiPath continuously expands and introduces new features, the courses serve as an invaluable resource. We find that the admin courses are particularly beneficial for us. When we come across new elements or features, we go through the courses to understand them thoroughly. This allows us to assess their compatibility with our solutions and implement them at our own pace. Additionally, if there are issues with older automation, the admin courses assist us in applying updated solutions to enhance performance. It not only helps with incorporating new automation but also in maintaining and improving existing ones, making it an excellent resource for managed support.

It accelerates digital transformation and significantly lowers IT costs. This is achieved without the need for expensive or complex application upgrades or extensive IT support. Currently, we are reducing the number of active machines and servers in operation. Although there might be an initial investment in bringing up users, the efficiency gains result in substantial savings. As we streamline processes through automation, we not only reduce the number of calls and machines but also realize long-term ROI by saving on infrastructure costs. In essence, the more automation implemented, the greater the cost savings and efficiency improvements over time.

UiPath has been instrumental in minimizing human errors, particularly in the process of uploading orders into the system. With automation, validation, and auditing integrated into our workflows, potential errors are identified at the initial stage. This allows us to promptly notify users of any issues, providing details based on the preset parameters. Through these efforts, we have observed a substantial reduction, estimated at around twenty to thirty percent, in errors that could potentially lead to future problems.

It has effectively liberated employee time by automating around two hundred processes within our sizable company. Based on my estimates, we have saved approximately three to four months' worth of workdays. This translates into significant time savings for our team and contributes to improved efficiency and productivity for our client.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable aspect is its simplicity in coding. All that's required is a fundamental grasp of coding principles and a bit of logical thinking. Once you've acquired these skills, you can effortlessly write a substantial amount of code and easily upgrade it as needed.

The integration is seamless and streamlines our workload.

What needs improvement?

It would be beneficial to enhance application insights, and I've shared this suggestion with the UiPath committee as well. Occasionally, clients expect a process to run at a specific time, but due to various factors, it might get delayed by half an hour or more. Currently, we only become aware of such delays by actively checking within the application. It would be beneficial if the system could proactively generate alerts, notifying the client about any delays in the process execution. This would provide transparency and enable clients, as well as our team, to be informed and take necessary actions, such as considering a migration if needed.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with it for approximately six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It exhibits high stability. With a robust security department in place, we conduct thorough code reviews, contributing to a secure and stable process. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate it at nine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Our clients are a massive enterprise with approximately two hundred automations in place. Scalability is dependent on the process level. If you have independent processes that can be executed, scaling up is straightforward.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is readily accessible to us always. I would rate it ten out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

When comparing Automation Anywhere to UiPath, it's important to mention that Automation Anywhere has undergone numerous updates in recent years. In my assessment around 2020, it lacked features such as the concept of attended and unattended bots, as well as multi-bot automation. However, I believe they have since introduced these features, though I haven't personally explored them. In terms of features, Automation Anywhere lagged behind UiPath.

What about the implementation team?

The deployment process took approximately three months for us due to various IT issues. This involved obtaining clearance from the IT, firewall, and security teams. In the current client setting, which has about five to six internal auditors, securing approvals was a meticulous process. Once all the necessary clearances were obtained, the actual implementation only took around fifteen days. Additionally, we received direct support from the UiPath team during the integration process. From our side, only three individuals were involved in the implementation process.

It has been deployed across multiple departments and various regions, including APAC, Europe, and Australia.

Maintenance is not a major concern. System-level maintenance is required, but if your automation is rigid and doesn't necessitate frequent changes, it's easy for us to manage and monitor. For maintenance, our current approach involves regular database cleanups and similar tasks since we are on-premises. However, once we migrate to the cloud, I believe such procedures won't be necessary anymore.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I believe that the price is on the higher side. From an ROI perspective, I would give it a rating of five out of ten. However, if we exclude the ROI considerations from the overall assessment, I would rate it at seven.

What other advice do I have?

From my perspective, it's a strongly recommended tool. However, from the client's viewpoint, especially since they are venturing into RPA implementation for the first time, they prefer a proof of concept before proceeding. Overall, I would rate it ten out of ten.

Helps to speed up digital transformation

What is our primary use case?

I have worked on use cases for three domains, which include the banking, health care, and insurance domains, and designed bots for automating processes.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation. In my three years of experience, I have developed bots for banking, insurance, and healthcare domains.

UiPath is very easy to use. We are able to automate manual processes with bots, so the work gets done in a very short time. Manual work that takes months can be done in two or three weeks.

UiPath helps to speed up digital transformation. It is easy to use. It completely removes human intervention. We can develop unattended bots. It brings efficiency and also helps in reducing human headcount. After UiPath was launched in our organization, there was a reduction of 800 employees.

What is most valuable?

UiPath Studio and Orchestrator have been useful in designing the bots. I know about Document Understanding, but I am not working on integration services such as app integration. For building automation, a lot of activities are there. There is load taxonomy or taxonomy creation. After that, there is digitization, classification, and extraction. The validation part is also there. These are the steps for designing a bot using Document Understanding.

I have used UiPath Academy courses. I have done two courses. I did the UiPath Associate certification in 2021, and UiPath Advanced RPA Developer v1.0 certification in January 2023. I am currently preparing for the advanced UiARD certification. Through the UiPath Academy courses, I have learned a lot of things about queues, Orchestrator, advanced methods, etc. It is very good for learners.

What needs improvement?

On my organization laptop, while doing database activities, such as database connect activity, UiPath Studio hangs. We click on the screen, but there is no response. The only option that works at that time is to open the task manager and forcefully stop the services of UiPath. UiPath gets closed, and we again have to run UiPath Studio.

UiPath Studio is also slow during web scraping and screen scraping.

In terms of new features, UiPath already has many features, but its pricing can be better for small businesses.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with UiPath since December 2020. It has been three years since I have been working as an RPA developer.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We are an organization with about 1,300 employees, and we have 20 people working with UiPath.

How are customer service and support?

I have not used their support. When I have a problem in developing a bot, we use the UiPath community, and they provide me with a solution for the same.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have also used Blue Prism. UiPath is easy to understand. It is easier to develop and deploy bots in UiPath. In Blue Prism, there are some challenges related to how to create processes. In UiPath, there are many sections such as Control Panel, activity properties, or object repository. They provide a modern experience to the developers. It is better than Blue Prism.

How was the initial setup?

To deploy three projects, I had to install UiPath on the client's machine, and it took only one and a half days.

What about the implementation team?

We have two or three people for the deployment of projects. We have one person to deploy the code on a client machine. We also have a solution architect and a support team. The deployment requires only two or three days.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Small businesses do not have the budget to purchase the UiPath license. They should provide a cheaper license option for small businesses.

What other advice do I have?

It is a very good solution. There are various RPA solutions, but UiPath is currently the number one solution in India as well as outside of India.

I would rate UiPath a ten out of ten. I love this tool. It works very efficiently.
