We previously used Microsoft Power Automate but switched to UiPath because it is easier to use and does not have the same limitations.
How was the initial setup?
The complexity of the deployment was moderate.
What was our ROI?
We have witnessed approximately a 35 percent return on investment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
UiPath is slightly more expensive than Automation Anywhere and Microsoft Power Automate.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated Automation Anywhere, but based on the reviews and business experience of multiple friends, UiPath appears to be less complex than Automation Anywhere.
What other advice do I have?
I rate UiPath a ten out of ten.
We have a team of 20 people who are responsible for maintenance support.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Frees up staff that has been doing manual, repetitive tasks to do something more valuable
What is our primary use case?
We are a distributor and most of our customers were manufacturing and financial companies, so the use cases fell into categories like financial, accounting, and procurement departments. We used it to improve business processes.
How has it helped my organization?
With UiPath, my clients were able to free their employees and staff for other types of work. They saw value in that. Staff didn't have to get up at 6 AM or work around the clock in front of a monitor all day. It freed up staff that had been doing menial, manual, repetitive tasks to do something more valuable.
In some cases, it reduced the time it took to get a task done from hours to a couple of minutes. Workflows that would take up to four or five hours were reduced to taking 10 to 15 minutes.
It also definitely reduced the amount of human error to almost zero.
What is most valuable?
UiPath Studio has all kinds of tools and it's practical to navigate around the application. Implementing any project can be done very quickly using UiPath. Also, the robot capacity is phenomenal. They work as long and as much as you need them to and provide optimal performance.
Building automation with UiPath is easy and takes a small amount of time. It's really intuitive and doesn't require advanced development or any technical skills. It's easy for anyone to pick up and understand. Any lower-skill employee or developer can learn to use it quickly.
We would usually do a pilot project with a company and, afterward, transfer all the knowledge and capabilities to them so that they were able to develop things themselves. Especially with the UiPath Academy, which provides online courses, and the UiPath forums, everyone could learn how to use it. My clients had no problem picking it up after our first pilot project. The advanced developer courses help a new developer quickly learn how to use it.
What needs improvement?
There can be technical issues, but it's rarely about a server quitting. They are more like connectivity, platform, and software version issues, but there are no issues with UiPath performance.
I would also like to see UiPath assist clients in scaling up their usage of the application because most of our clients had trouble expanding their usage into other departments. It was hard for them to calculate the exact value they were getting. Some of our clients were flying blind.
Some of our clients hadn't really seen enormous impact from implementing and using automation yet. They had just started, and they saw the value in it, but it was hard for them to expand or add more value to automations with UiPath.
For how long have I used the solution?
I worked with UiPath from 2019 to 2022.
How are customer service and support?
It can take their technical support some time to respond. And sometimes, the assigned staff doesn't have the right knowledge, but that doesn't happen often.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. Our clients did ask for tips and tricks, but they didn't need a full consultation. They managed it themselves. It's really intuitive.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
UiPath pricing is high and sometimes it's quite complicated as well, because there are loads of components and loads of product portfolios. It works, but it could be better. The pricing could be more attractive.
What other advice do I have?
UiPath definitely speeds up digital transformation but whether it reduces the costs of doing so depends on a number of factors.
Over the years, UiPath has done a pretty good job of continuously improving its product by adding robot capacities and changing versions. In terms of features, they have everything covered, with AI features, data mining, process mining, and all that was done quite ahead of everybody else.
I would say that UiPath, as a company, was better in the past. Nowadays, I have less confidence in the company's situation, not that I don't think it's stable. And their ability to improve is a 10 out of 10.
My advice is to study your use cases and go to the UiPath Academy. You'll find everything you're looking for and there is a big community. UiPath is easy to use, but you have to understand your work processes thoroughly and not just depend on the application to help you.
Low-code solution provides scraping for data extraction, and Document Understanding for scanned documents
What is our primary use case?
I create robots for clients of our company. We have an insurance client that asked us to help with sending letters by email and extracting documents related to insurance, between their insurance agencies.
We also do e-signatures using an API with a server to get digital signatures for all the customers of a bank. And with other banks, we have worked on onboarding clients. We have all the information about them and we do subscriptions for them.
We also have a lot of clients that ask for filters and updates in Excel files.
How has it helped my organization?
Employees who were doing the same tasks every day are happy to have time to do innovative things and stop doing tasks that a robot can do. They feel free from those unwanted tasks. These kinds of tasks are often boring, and employees can make mistakes. They spend a lot of time doing them without any benefit, because it's something they do every day. There is no innovation when they have to do those tasks. The most important part is that we can help employees in these situations.
The benefits include managing employees' time. A robot can work at night or even on the weekend, whenever you schedule it to run. It's helpful because employees can let it do their jobs when they are at home. There are also fewer errors because when you give a robot a formula, it does all the iterations in the same way. Even if there is a special situation or an exception, the robot can help itself get through it. So it helps with an employee's time and efficiency, and they are happy about that.
There are two kinds of robots that we deliver. One type of robot works independently, giving our client's employees time while the robot does its work. And there are other robots that do work but need a human to verify things. But even that type of robot reduces the work, leaving only the validation.
And when we start discussing RPA with a client, we can see the difference in the costs. We ask them how much they spend on a task or how much time it takes, because even hours have a cost. We then give them the difference. If a robot does that task, it will spend X amount of time on it and you will save this much money. It depends on the project, but sometimes we save them 30 or 40 percent of their time or even more.
What is most valuable?
The scraping for data extraction is very important. There is also a connection with all Microsoft tools, like Outlook, Excel, Word, et cetera. And OCR, the Document Understanding feature, is important because we have clients that ask us to read data from scanned documents.
UiPath Orchestrator is also important to help us schedule our bots.
In addition, UiPath is a low-code solution, which is very useful and helpful. Given the features and solutions it offers, it's quite easy. The ease is a seven out of 10, or even more. The challenge for us is connected to the demands of the client. Sometimes we work with banks, sometimes with insurance companies, and the challenge is to know what they really require before we start developing. We need to know the exceptions that we might face. But the development part is quite easy thanks to the UiPath Academy and the forum. It's not that hard.
We can even teach our clients a little bit about the use of the UiPath. It's easy and doesn't require an IT engineer. They get excited to use it.
I started my use of UiPath with the UiPath Academy and I'm still learning there because there are updates and new features to learn about. The Academy is very helpful with its videos and explanations, and with the questions at the end of the lessons. I like that it allows me to learn on my own time. It's very constructive because things are explained well and I like that I don't have to be at a school to learn it.
Also, the UiPath community is very good. Anytime I have a problem, or something blocks me, I post a question on the forum and people spend a lot of time helping me. Even if the first solution doesn't work, they come up with another one. When I started working with UiPath, there were only a few people who knew the platform and I had to wait days and days to get an answer, and sometimes I wouldn't get one. But over time, I feel the difference because there are more people in the community and they are more responsive and very helpful.
What needs improvement?
We have the new license, the Flex Plan with Automation Suite, but we don't have practical examples and we have found it a little bit difficult when dealing with it. We could use more specifications about it and practical examples. Sometimes clients ask us questions, but, even on the UiPath forums, we don't have answers. We have to spend a lot of time trying to find them. Practical responses about installations and the differences between the kinds of installations would be helpful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with UiPath for almost three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's very stable. I haven't faced a problem with UiPath Studio. I would give it a 10 out of 10 for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scalable. I would rate it a nine out of 10 on this aspect.
How are customer service and support?
I have needed their help too many times but they have been so helpful. They respond with emails, and sometimes I even talk with them on Google Meet. They are responsive.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
We have worked with UiPath on-premises, on Azure, and on a private cloud. That's where we use it the most. An on-premises setup is easy to do, and on a private cloud, it's not complicated. But with the Automation Suite, it is complicated and we asked UiPath to help us.
When we deploy it for our customers, we ask them to prepare the production environment for us so that it is already ready. For deployment, we have an architecture and an infrastructure engineer. Sometimes we need the infrastructure engineer if something is complicated about the infrastructure. We work with the IT department of the client and our infrastructure engineer.
For unassisted robots, we take the robot from the development machine or the test machine to the deployment machine. For clients using Orchestrator, we create the robot, the job, and we execute the robots from Orchestrator.
Maintaining UiPath is not difficult. One engineer can handle it, for now.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I did some research on Power Automate, but I haven't worked with it. I only saw the interface and some examples. We are planning to learn more about Power Automate and the differences between it and UiPath, but for now, we are only working with you UiPath.
What other advice do I have?
My advice is to use the UiPath Academy and do some practical exercises. And when working with your client, ask all the questions that you have, including exceptions and real cases. Technically, everything is good. Just attend the Academy and use the forums and everything will be okay.
{layed a crucial role in generating significant capacity and managing all the challenging tasks efficiently
What is our primary use case?
We utilize UiPath to automate manual and repetitive tasks that range from simple Excel manipulations to web scraping. We have several use cases related to refinancing, such as handling accounts payable for invoice processing, remittances, and accounts receivable, among others. In addition to that, UiPath enables us to develop public-facing applications that are integrated with automation. This automation is triggered automatically whenever there are user interactions or events, resulting in numerous use cases. For instance, if the requested data is not already available in the document, we can obtain input from customers using UiPath.
Furthermore, we employ UiPath products for automatic invoice processing. When we receive invoices in PDF format, we digitize them using our own OCR engine. Subsequently, this information can be utilized to save data into systems like SAP. We extensively automate ERP systems, including SAP, Oracle, and NetSuite.
We also use UiPath for application testing. We have built several test cases for suppression, user acceptance, and so on, which can be scheduled to run or run on demand.
How has it helped my organization?
UiPath has a small learning curve because we leverage Microsoft technologies, benefiting greatly from UiPath's integration with the Windows Workflow Foundation. Moreover, there is also a version tailored for business users. Personally, I have a tech background, but we have received feedback from other users who find it very easy to create simple automation. However, for more complex automation, some experience or training might be necessary. Fortunately, UiPath offers completely free on-demand training through their Academy. Once someone completes the training, they will be able to proficiently build automation.
We employ our bots to collect data on emissions, consumption, and byproducts. We do not have any byproducts. Recently, we published a report detailing where and how we have achieved our sustainability goal.
With UiPath, we have been able to achieve a 100 percent scale-up in the finance department without increasing the headcount. Therefore, it has played a crucial role in generating significant capacity and managing all the challenging tasks efficiently.
Being able to implement end-to-end automation using UiPath is crucial. We have use cases where human involvement is necessary. For instance, if there are invoices exceeding ten thousand dollars, we require approval. Therefore, UiPath allows us to pause automation until we receive those approvals from various stakeholders. Once the human input is provided, the bot proceeds with the remaining steps. It is highly reliable and adaptable to changes in the sales flow. We have utilized UiPath for automation without the need for additional staff.
Whenever there are new features or releases that lack detailed information, we can use UiPath's User Community to discuss the posted topics. For example, we can seek assistance in understanding how to make the most of a specific feature or determine the necessary settings for our properties to leverage those features effectively. Additionally, training resources for these products are available within the community. Webinars are frequently hosted in the UiPath User Community, which we also utilize to gain insights into the functionality of the product and its application in solving various use cases.
There are several areas in which UiPath has benefited our organization. We gain process intelligence and revenue intelligence. Additionally, we are able to perform virtual investment analysis using automation. UiPath enables us to free up a significant amount of capacity for more meaningful work.
UiPath has helped minimize our on-premises footprint. It's all about the SaaS cloud-based offerings. Therefore, several products are currently available quickly, specifically on the cloud. Essentially, we only utilize virtual machines for the robot itself, which execute alongside all the other services. Everything is hosted in the cloud.
The biggest benefit of using UiPath's Academy is that it offers various labs and exercises, which greatly assist us in utilizing and improving our understanding of the tool. Additionally, the Academy provides certifications that can help individuals become certified in the technology. These are some of the benefits offered by the Academy.
For most of the document understanding process, we utilize machine learning models that are hosted in the UiPath AI center. Additionally, AI is integrated into the process mining and task mining products we employ, which help us discover new automation ideas and opportunities by analyzing information flow within data from ERP systems, among others. Moreover, UiPath recently introduced communications mining, which utilizes a large language model. This enables us to examine emails and other modes of communication to gain insights into the processes and occurrences. There are numerous concealed insights pertaining to both the processes themselves and the sentiments of customers, all of which can be obtained through these AI tools.
UiPath AI has simplified the automation of more complex processes because it doesn't require machine learning, knowledge, or technical ability. It is a very simplified, no-code, local platform. This has greatly helped us build solutions that previously required extensive coding, saving us a significant amount of time during implementation.
UiPath helps to accelerate and reduce the cost of our digital transformation.
UiPath has helped reduce human errors. There are several errors that occur when working with financial data, such as missed dates and miscalculations. However, the bots prevent such mistakes from happening.
UiPath has generated sufficient capacity, allowing us to avoid hiring additional personnel for our department. Despite an increase in workload, the bots are capable of handling it.
UiPath has helped our organization save costs.
What is most valuable?
The AI feature has enabled us to automate more processes overall.
What needs improvement?
It would be beneficial to have the capability to track defects during the regression testing of applications.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath for six and a half years.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, and Power Plus Automation, but UiPath is more user-friendly.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price is reasonable. UiPath is priced for the market and is even better considering the value it brings.
What other advice do I have?
I rate UiPath a ten out of ten.
We have implemented UiPath across multiple departments, including HR and Finance.
No maintenance is required.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Enables us to pull patient information into a single dashboard with the help of a Power BI integration service
What is our primary use case?
We're using UiPath for healthcare use cases. It is primarily used for automating document-related tasks, such as moving documents around, classifying them, and extracting the information we need.
How has it helped my organization?
UiPath has increased our accuracy to 99.99 percent and expanded our ability to process large volumes of data, making data processing more affordable and improving our profitability. It has helped reduce personnel time and enhanced productivity because we can run the bots 24 hours daily.
We can automatically scan documents and send the information through Twilio. Document scanning is tricky, but we can easily collect the data after finishing the process. The integration is smooth.
The solution helps us share data between systems, which speeds things up. Previously, we were doing everything manually. Now, we can automate data tasks in Informatics with UiPath.
UiPath enables us to pull patient information into a single dashboard with the help of a Power BI integration service. Power BI is our dashboard solution, and we integrate it via API. It's much easier to monitor the patients because we can see how many records were successfully processed and prepared. It's secure enough to comply with HIPAA because we can collect patient data and encrypt it. Automated scheduling helps the healthcare staff, particularly the doctors.
What is most valuable?
I like the ability to extract emails and other data from scanned documents. The machine learning and AI features are helpful because we're processing tons of documents and warehousing the data. UiPath's Document Understanding makes that much easier.
What needs improvement?
Document processing could be improved. It's challenging to build document automations. It would be helpful if UiPath provided some templates and prebuilt models. Citrix automation could be improved. It's static automation, and we cannot fully automate processes involving Citrix. Some elements aren't supported.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used UiPath for around four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
UiPath is generally stable, but the stability goes down when we do Citrix automation.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
UiPath is scalable enough. We are using more than 20 licenses.
How are customer service and support?
I rate UiPath support 10 out of 10. I'm satisfied. When we raise a ticket, we get a response in a day or two.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
UiPath Studio is available in community and enterprise versions, but the UI doesn't work correctly in the community edition, so it's difficult to achieve 100 percent automation. I'm not responsible for the licensing, so I don't know how much it costs.
What other advice do I have?
I rate UiPath 10 out of 10. I recommend UiPath because it's better than other automation tools like Blue Prism. It's easy to use and has a large user community that you can rely on for support.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
A cost-effective, user-friendly solution with many good features
What is our primary use case?
We use it for making end-to-end projects. We are working with a commodity trading company where we have automated almost 150 processes. We have automated daily tasks or repetitive tasks.
How has it helped my organization?
It allows us to implement end-to-end automation. It's an ongoing activity where everybody is involved in automating things. Everybody is looking for a cost-effective output. With manual processes, there are chances of errors, but with UiPath, there are no errors.
It's cost-effective. For example, if ten members of a team are working on a given task, with UiPath, that task can be done by one member. It saves costs for our clients, and they can use the freed-up employees for other important tasks. So, it saves time and costs and improves accuracy for our clients.
It helps to minimize the on-premises footprint.
It speeds up digital transformation or reduces the cost of digital transformation. Doing so doesn't require expensive or complex application upgrades or IT application support.
It reduces a lot of human errors. It also frees up employees' time, but there is a drawback. Previously, if a hundred-member team was working on a given task, after automation, you don't need that many people, and they end up losing their jobs. That's applicable to any kind of automation case or any of the automation apps. The time saved with automation varies. It depends on the project.
What is most valuable?
It's user-friendly. The UI is very user-friendly. It's quick to learn. Anyone can learn this tool.
The Orchestrator feature given in UiPath is very good for monitoring processes. We get alerts for everything on time.
The ReFramework feature available in UiPath is widely used. We have almost 90% of the processes running on ReFramework. Other built-in features are also very good. Exception handling is a very good feature that has been introduced in ReFramework.
The Insights feature that they have recently introduced is also very good. We can create dashboards and configure alerts.
The UiPath community is good. They also provide free-of-cost UiPath Academy where any beginner can learn about UiPath free of cost and get certified. It's a very good service provided by UiPath. I used UiPath Academy when I started with UiPath. The courses are very well prepared and detailed. There are videos, and there is a theoretical part. At the end of every course chapter, you have to take a test, so you get to know how good you are at that part. Each and every point and detail has been covered in the UiPath Academy courses.
What needs improvement?
I have not used it that much. It has been more than enough for my needs. However, its stability could be better. There are cases where because of the UiPath upgrade, some of the activity features get upgraded, and the processes that we have designed using an older version of UiPath don't run after the upgrade. In such scenarios, we have to downgrade and use only the older version. We have seen issues in that part. It's good to add new features, but that shouldn't impact the existing development of processes that we have done for our end users. We shouldn't have had to design features using the older version. We find it difficult when they remove or change features with the upgrade. We have to reach out to the UiPath community for a solution.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using this solution for 2.5 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I'd rate it a seven out of ten in terms of stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I'd rate it a nine out of ten in terms of scalability.
How are customer service and support?
They are very quick. They have separate teams. You can email them your query and you get a response within two to three hours. I'd rate them a nine out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've used another tool previously, but we could only automate a limited number of processes with that tool, whereas, with UiPath, we don't have any such limitation.
How was the initial setup?
I wasn't involved in its setup.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I didn't evaluate other options. I had heard of Automation Anywhere, but more people were using UiPath, so I also chose that.
What other advice do I have?
It's very good. I'd recommend it to everybody. You should use UiPath instead of any other tool.
If somebody wants to learn UiPath, I'd recommend UiPath Academy instead of purchasing a course from any of the other platforms or going to a class.
I'd rate UiPath a ten out of ten.
