Rollbar review

  • January 24, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
the description along with the errors and the number of occurrences help to debug the bugs and issues on the server better
What do you dislike about the product?
At times there are errors on the server but rollbar doesn't report
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
helps to find which part of the code has a problem and how severe it is, financially - it reduces the turn around time for finding and fixing the bugs

Rollbar makes debugging in browser errors much easier

  • January 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Rollbar can be integrated into your backend and front end code to report and aggregate errors over time. While this is useful for backend errors, it is particularly useful for seeing errors when they occur in your customer's web browser. Knowing all the errors that your users are seeing without relying on them reporting the problem allows you to fix the issue more quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Rollbar web console can be slow to load and rql queries are sometimes slow to execute. I understand that it may be filtering on a lot of data, but it does make it harder to use quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rollbar is used to capture backend and frontend errors. The web console can be used to see error occurrences and to aggregate similar errors. Slack and email notifications are also used to report new error occurrences.

Bring stability and peace of mind to your codebase

  • January 20, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
Rollbar quickly allowed me to instrument unknown code and quickly understood my problem areas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like more control to modify the data when received by Rollbar (jscript or other options). For now I can bounce it throw a lamda and do the work there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was improving the quality and stability of an enterprise application for a firm I recently joined.

Solid service helps to make bug identification and tracking easy

  • January 20, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The level of detail provided for each request
The ability to group and categorize requests, as well as mute requests which aren't relevant
Integration into code
What do you dislike about the product?
The same error is not always recognized as part of a group and will not show up as an instance of a previously reported error
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bug tracking, deployment of fixes.

Real-time notifications help to diagnose issues much faster.

Essential for production environments

  • January 20, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Rollbar brings the one place to find and explore issues. It alerts me when something is happening, and the way Rollbar presents items/occurrences allows me to take action.
Is this just a bug to report? Some isolated issue? Should we run in pannic and go to a shelter? Rollbar instantly brings me the answer just by looking at the item dashboard.

There is another great thing on Rollbar. The way it groups similar cases (called "occurrences") into one set called "item". It does a great job of knowing what cases go together. Even in the rare case it's wrong, you can join items or report the problem (I have never had to report an overjoin problem).
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say I like the main dashboard. It allows comparing the number of occurrences between projects / with last week / with the previous day. I found it interesting to play with, but I can't think any valuable use for that information
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Rollbar, I can have in one place all errors from different applications, languages, servers, or environments. For example, if you have a Rails app for the backend (running in 2 or 3 different servers) and a React app for the frontend, you can watch all errors within Rollbar.
Also, production environments have limited access for specific users, so accessing logs or similar usually is a pain. Rollbar lets you know what is happening without even botter production guys.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it. If you are not sure, just try it (it is really easy to install). If you like it, you can think on other options (How I'm going to use it? Where? etc)

Great tool to track errors, especially with microservices

  • January 20, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The occurrences can show you many details about the error, the context, the user and also custom data that you could trace from your applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admin panel does not allow you to filter by data inside occurrences, there are a few filters that not always are useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every time we release a new feature we can track every error it causes. That way we could measure it as tech debt and build strategy plans to fix it. It makes errors visible.
