    Hospitality

Awesome Data Funnel

  • November 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easily send data to multiple connections from a single source.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to find filters that have been set up so, if a data endpoint isn't receiving, it's hard to debug.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily manage data funnels and multiple data processors

    Information Technology and Services

Goes unnoticed, and that's a good thing

  • November 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Super easy to push all of the data we need. We don't use Segment as much as we could from a track perspective, but Segment's ability to have multiple sources and destinations allows us to understand across multiple dimensions pretty easily
What do you dislike about the product?
I think because we use Segment for API requests more than tracking, our pricing seems high for the amount of visitors we have on the site. We also paid for segment time to help go through this, but the complexity of delivering on what we need means that the tracking consistently gets pushed down as lower priority
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have many places where we track, generally disjointed systems, so we use segment to collect data from all of these places, then destinations like Heap allow for the analytics team members to be able to rapidly understand our users better.

Great tool

What do you like best about the product?
Having a common spot where all analytics pass through, so we can check and debug any issues. The integration with new providers is usually pretty straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features could use some more work, like violations alerts. Some integrations take a bit of work because of the particularities of their SDKs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a lot of chaos around analytics before Segment. Thanks to Segment all departments are now coordinated between themselves. We have a common place where we check the data and violations, so we know which tool is having issues. It also forces us to follow a strict Tagging Plan thanks to the Protocols feature.

Great product, makes our life easier when tracking data !

What do you like best about the product?
I do not have to deal with multiple tools sdks to track data and helps us to unify our tagging plan (protocol).
What do you dislike about the product?
Some tools integrations are not as good as others, specially the ones working on device mode. Is hard to see what's going on on production build due to the high number of events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had too many sdks and different tagging plans in the past. Segment helped us to unify. Also, helps us to determine where to start investigation when some data is not arriving (in front of segment or behind segment)

    Insurance

very helpful tool automating event logs recording to databases

What do you like best about the product?
As a data scientist, segment makes it easier for engineers to get me the data I need to do my daily job. Segment can quickly pull data from production as well as from other data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Segment must continue to expand on the data sources available. I think Segment has multiple sources, but more are needed. For example, Segment should add Bing to their sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment it is making it easier to get multiple data sources into one place. Hence, it makes data processes more effective. iafsfasasfsadfadsfasfasdfasdffdsfasdsfas

    Consumer Goods

Reduce tracking events complexity

  • November 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Segment JavaScript SDK is easy to understand, the documentation is excellent, and destination middlewares are an amicable solution to abstract the complexity of having different tracking providers
What do you dislike about the product?
The observability system. When there is a violation, if hard to find the reason, you can only see two events. I would like to have real-time charts to watch the events
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralize our tracking system into a single solution. Before, we had to deal with different tracking providers with various APIs, and it was chaos. It's also great because you can control it from a single dashboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great product that makes tracking integration way easier. Give it a try

    Consumer Services

Good service for piping business data to many sources

  • November 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can funnel data from an application to many disparate sources, to meet business needs across multiple departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some useful features are hard to discover in the segment ui, such as event filtering functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment is used to gather user analytics of our applications, allowing for a greater understanding of user behavior.

A Focus on Speed To Contact with an easy Integration to existing CRM

  • November 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Coming into a new role it's always daunting having to learn a new platform or program, however, the easy-to-use functionality and ability to integrate Twilio helps streamline all those time-consuming tasks that can take you away from the end goal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the issues I found when first learning the platform was in the onboarding process, not being familiar with the platform I was looking for a basic breakdown and instructional demo to help familiarise myself with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working in software and tech I deal with a lot of customers coming to me asking questions, having the one-stop platform where I can respond and engage helps increase the speed to contact which reflects through our records and nps score.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a platform that helps you natively address customers and manage tasks I would suggest looking at investing some time and seeing if it's the right fit for your business model.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment allows non-technical stakeholders to build tracking infrastructure independently from the Data Team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's costly, and it's easy to be locked in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing growth hackers to track events independently from the data team.
Routing events in a somewhat declarative way.
