What do you like best about the product?
One of the unique thing i like it in CloudAcademy in comparison to other learning source is the "Learning Path" for all major Technical certifications.
What do you dislike about the product?
its not 100 % dislike but can be a recommeded improvement.
All core concepts have to explained with clear examples without overlapping with other services. For example, Benefits/right use case of Azure services "Service Bus" & "Event Bus" have to be clearly explained.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get more Technical handson experience with Labs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Allocate some time to go through various technical courses in CloudAcademy everyday. Use the labs to test your learnings and correct your mistakes

The virtual guru for techies

  • November 21, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Personally I like entire learning paths, if you really wanted to learn and prefer to watch a video and get some hands on via their labs.
The cloud classes for AWS is well worth the price, not to mention the extensive coverage on Linux platform.
This is especially true if you compare this service with others like it where you'll pay more and probably won't get as much for the steep price. Also, cloud academy now include in the coverage, access to Cloud Assessment where you can run scenarios to help build our skill and understanding as well as now virtual lab sessions is new and I can't speak much to it other than it looks to be usefull.
What do you dislike about the product?
Content wise it's overwhelming but it will be good 😊 if cloud academy is giving access for lifetime accessibility to the content as it will be updated frequently.
Other than this everything is perfect
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I personally gained real time experience as it's very essential for every leaner who tends to be a pro.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Subscribe for trail and taste the flavor of teaching methodology - you will definitely wonder and go for long-standing relationship for learning with less price.

What do you like best about the product?
I have completed comparable course on other learning platforms. What I like about the Cloud Academy is that it just does not cover the basics. It covers the more advanced aspects and then encourages you to get hands-on.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were spots where I wished the hands-on lab were more guided.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud Academy is being used in my organization to train of GCP as we implement cloud solutions.

What do you like best about the product?
The presentation and the step by step approach Cloud-Academy takes towards achieving the goal is the key distinguishing factor between the other competitors. I also like the fact of always keeping the customers updated with the new content being published and Certification updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far that I really like to mention it specifically. Thank you for all the great work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud Academy helps me to be up to date with the latest technology that the Corporate and the digital era demand. I have my latest certifications done, which I don't think it's possible without the help of Cloud-Academy.

What do you like best about the product?
Especially for Cloud certifications such as AWS, Cloud academy is perfect, it not only covers the complete certification objectives but the lab and hands-on session.fff
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of thffe lecture videos are monotonous, that can be made interesting with real-life examples.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm keeping myself up to date with the latest DevOps, Cloud and Security know-how. CloudAcademy is easy to use, I watch the offline content during my commutes.

Weak platform for Machine Learning topics

  • November 20, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The material they cover in the lecture style content strikes an appropriate balance of depth and approach-ability. The interface is easy to navigate. The video playback speed can be increased. They provide labs where you actually go into AWS to accomplish tasks (on their dime).
What do you dislike about the product?
I paid for Cloud Academy specifically to prepare myself and two team members for the AWS Machine Learning Specialist certification, so that was the track we followed and what my review is based on.

First, some of the content is out of date:
• Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Amazon Machine Learning – this course focuses on a discontinued offering from AWS which has been entirely replaced by AWS Sagemaker. New customers have no access the old Machine Learning platform at all. So not only is this whole course useless in exam prep, it features fairly heavily in the ‘practice exam’ offered in the course.
• Introduction to Amazon Rekognition – aspects of this training (we sent in comments about this) were out of date with the way the offering currently works.

Second, the balance of content doesn’t reflect the actual exam:
• While Cloud Academy provided a whole section on IAM, this represented a very small fraction of the actual exam. The exam had a lot of focus on the usage of VPC, however, which is never covered despite there being courses available on Cloud Academy on this topic.
• Storage Fundamentals for AWS dives into the multiplicity of offerings around S3 with some coverage on EBS and EFS. The actual exam treats S3 as a single offering and asks questions around S3/VPC. The exam ask a *lot* about Kinesis and it’s offerings which are not included in the track despite there being courses available.
• The practice exam at the end asks a lot of very specific questions about exact usage of tools like Rekognition/Lex (like what the exact API call is) but the exam treats these as easy, slide-in solutions without concerning itself beyond the key offerings. Missing from the Cloud Academy track (and overall it looks like) is coverage of Comprehend, Transcribe, Translate.
• Nothing about serverless (Lambda specifically) is part of the offering.
• Coverage of AWS Sagemaker is limited to a single lab when it would benefit from a full course covering the Notebook offerings, Training Jobs, Inference Endpoints and Hyperparameter Tuning. Actually, it would be great if there was a course on hyperparameter tuning at all. These are all topics that appear frequently in the exam.

Other Notes:
• While the labs are slick in the sense that I actually get to go to AWS and practice stuff, the Sagemaker, CPU/GPU and Style Transfer with MXNet labs are just copy/paste exercises with no opportunity to dig in beyond following the exact instructions. I believe these would benefit from providing people with the code/instructions to do it on their own account as follow-up.
• The audio balancing in the material isn’t great, we all struggled to hear and understand some of the instructors even with the volume maxed out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our focus was on passing the exam. We did, but only thanks to extensive use of material provided by vendors other than Cloud Academy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don't know that I have a recommendation.

Interesting to have a global vision of AWS

  • November 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked accessing the acadamy cloud because it has allowed me to have a global view in a comfortable way about how aws works.

This will allow me to deepen in the future. The points system encourages you to continue with the course.

I really liked the possibility of downloading the videos on my tablet and being able to watch them anywhere.

Highly recommended for people who are interested in learning new technologies and do not have time to attend face-to-face courses
What do you dislike about the product?
Some videos do not have English subtitles. For people who do not have fluent English, it is very important to have all subtitle videos available.

On the other hand, it would be interesting for people who do not speak English to have subtitles available in other languages and thus get the most out of the courses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At this precise moment, I am not working directly with AWS but indirectly, in my company there is a commitment to migrate all systems to AWS in the medium term.

Cloud Academy has allowed me to have a first impression of AWS and thus understand many aspects that are beginning to be implemented in my company. I hope to continue acquiring knowledge and progress in AWS
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Cloud Academy is a good tool if you decide to spend time learning about technology related topics. It is easy to use and you can access it from anywhere, even offline
