Amazing Cloud Back Up Solution

  • July 02, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva inSync provides excellent and reliable data backups; it retains data in compliance with every data protection act policy of each region.
Druva inSync's admin console is very flexible in terms of creating storage quota, the storage location for a specific region as well as allowing administrators to either choose a cloud-based or server end-point storage location.
What do you dislike about the product?
Druva is not meant for the average consumer who is looking for a back up solution because it is very costly in pricing.
It seemingly supports AWS cloud services quite well but not other cloud services that much.
Another drawback is that users can uninstall the Druva inSync application without the administrators permission which could lead to data not being back up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Druva inSync assists my organization in terms of backing up data autonomously without user/administrator intervention. A user that has lost a document/file can quickly retrieve that item by opening the client in their machine and then restoring the file(s) .

The flexibility of the Druva inSync administrator console allows me to allocate different quotas to various regions at ease.

Very Simple yet Robust Solution

We started using the non subscription version a couple of years ago then moved to the subscription version as our enterprise and needs grew. This is a fairly easy to use and implement backup solution for our AWS EC2 needs.

The rollout was easy enough via cloud formation scripts/links and managing the backup jobs was also relatively easy to setup and allows for some flexible customization in the conditions for including resources to backup.

Overall we are happy with this product! We will continue using it for our cloud backup needs and would recommend it for others.

This is a very useful product. We like the fact that we can set it up and it just works. It takes care of daily and weekly AMI creation and pruning as well as DR testing. We are happy with the results.

Backup and Disaster Recovery falls short

CloudRanger is a constantly evolving service that has helped us protect our AWS Resources against disaster and data loss events. You can score some savings by using their resource scheduling module which is great for shutting down non-prod environments during nighttime or weekends.

Their customer support is great, they're so responsive and you literally get the feeling that you're helping improve the product as they tightly follow up on bugs or feature requests.

Data backup solution made for remote workers!

  • May 16, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva InSync lets our users back up their laptop data to Druva cloud easily anywhere that has Internet access. Each user may backup 10 devices' data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The first data backup will take a long time to complete.
Backup for the Mac laptops cannot work on all logical drives that the users define. Hopefully, Druva will release a new feature to address this issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
After COVID, my company employees do not go to the office to work anymore and our old data backup solution requires our users to connect to the company network to complete the backup process. Druva InSync lets our employees back up their data at home without connecting to the company network anymore.

So Easy to Recover

What do you like best about the product?
Druva inSync is an awesome cloud back up product. Especially since we have such a small IT staff and we support over 800 users. The console dashboard is so easy to navigate, and you can see the backup status of each user and/or device. We use inSync on most of our laptops since we do not have roaming profiles and a lot of our users are in and out of the office. It is so great when you give a user a new computer how easy it is to pull their data over to the new device or to a different location if that is necessary. When a unit is stolen you can recover the data up to the last time a backup was done. We have several weekly notifications set up Druva inSync complete report, Druva inSync failed Druva inSync backup report, Druva inSync last backup status report, Druva inSync restore activity report, Druva inSync alert history report, Druva inSync storage status report, Druva inSync non backed up users just to name a few, these reports are of value to myself and my co-worker this really keeps our user files up to date.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the ability to change the user’s password and not just rest it by sending the user a canned email. Other than that, not much to dislike. This product does exactly what we want it to do for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps the users not have to worry about backing up specific data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a small IT staff and need help maintaining your backups this is your solution.

Druva makes backing and restoring data simple.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Druva for us is the simplicity for the end user. Being a Sys Admin, I have a lot of daily tasks to check in on. Druva is one I can set and forget because of how easy it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly do not see any dislikes at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving C-Suite level backups. We have the comfortability of knowing our upper management has viable backups.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend setting reports to show inactive backups. We had an issue where a Mac was not being backed up on a daily basis and did not have a current backup. This would have been resolved with a report showing inactivity.

What do you dislike about the product?
While running backup, system get slow. Need to do something regarding on backup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In this covid time, we have supported to our remote users very quickly to restoring the date, when operating system crash.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Druva sync time is taking long. Please work on this.

Simplified Backup and DR Protection Solution

  • May 11, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva Phoenix is cloud based and provides a rapid deployment model for backing up and protecting on-premise IT solutions. Druva Phoenix integrates seamlessly with VMWare to easily backup virtual machines and databases with minimal configuration and deployment effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
The AWS DRaaS solution provides a powerful option for delivering DR capabilities to the cloud but the EC2 conversion process requires extensive testing to ensure all failovers will be successful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization is combining our backup and DR protection solutions into one platform to simplify the administration of these processes. This has reduced our overall capital investment on-premise and simplified our skills criteria for managing backups.
