Amazing tool, critical for our app business

  • August 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitide is very easy to implement but extremely powerful. It allows us tog sin amazing insight into how users use our apps so we can focus on improving what really matters.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s sometimes hard to segment users by properties because properties are only registered when events are triggered. I would appreciate profiling users directly regardless of events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to monitor how users use our apps, discover usage patterns and improve the app in ways that will actually make an impact based on what users are doing. We’ve seen an increase in usage, ROI and customer satisfaction.

Great Client Service

  • August 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Review is based on my experience working with the Client Service (Platform) team. Tracy, who I worked with this time from the platform team was professional and helpful. I recently took over the Amplitude project at my company and was not very familiar with how it was set up. Tracy always responded to my emails in a timely manner with easy to follow steps, suggested documentation links, and additional insights if she has any. She knows the ins and outs of the product. There were a few times when she had to confirm with internal engineers, she circled back to be the next day or two.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't had any negative experience with the teams I worked with so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Redshift ETL plugin, Amplitude Analytics UI, and AWS S3 data destination setup

My Experience with Amplitude

  • August 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a very simple tool. Doesn't need hands-on training to use the tool. Even a new person can quickly and easily understand and work with the tool. Personally, amplitude has helped our team a lot with the new product. All their features like funnels, user segmentation, cohorts have helped us understand our users better. How when a new version of our product goes out it automatically creates release notes and shows me the new events that were part of this new release. It becomes easier for me to add on to the release if something is missing. Amplitude is made our life easier for me and my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like it if I could easily switch between 'conversion' & 'conversion over time' easily from the dashboard instead of having to open the funnel. It's very important for me and my team to have an eye on the funnel every day to make sure everything in our system is in place. Apart from other systems that help us know if everything is working fine, checking amplitude charts help us totally validate everything.
To add on when I have to make changes to existing funnels, it takes time to load these and edit and save them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Amplitude analytics to understand our user behavior. What are most people doing on our app? How many people are enjoying our services on the app and how many are dropping off? We are a data-driven company. Any changes we make on our app is backed by data. Amplitude plays a huge role for us to understand how our users like our features on the app and have improvements in the app have affected our user behavior.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please try using Amplitude it's amazing.

Product management wouldn't be the same without Amplitude.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to use funnels which gives us a deep understanding of our user behaviour. Another very powerful feature that we really like is the HTTP API which solved a lot of our tracking issues, right now we track a user from sing up onwards, even if they have an AD blocker, we get stats which is hard to get via other tool like Google Analytics. Ability to have more than one team and more than one dashboard is another feature that we like, which gives each team have the freedom and control on what they want to track. The generous event limitation is also another thing we like and appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
The high price tag to upgrade, I think you should have a more reasonable packages to pick from, especially with team with little budget and in early growth and integration state. I would love to be able for example to purchase some features that will elevate my experience, without the need to purchase a hefty package to unlock some of those features. Also the new released feature with destinations does not include enough destinations and does not explain if new ones are coming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding user behaviour, tracking backend events and connecting frontend and backend actions via user id. The flexibility the Amplitude has gave us better understanding on what our needs and we were able to break down the events and data further and create more charts and funnels, thus able to segment our users further.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would really recommend using Amplitude, it makes a life of a Product Manager easier once the correct events, funnels and charts are implemented.

Powerful tool to uncover what users are doing in your product

  • August 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude makes it really easy for developers to add metrics in to an app in a few lines of code. While at the same time, the powerful charting capabilities make it easy for product owners to build and tweak their own reports to gain insights to how the app is used. There's even a generous free tier so you can get started straight away and try it out in your own app.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve to creating charts but overall the UI is quite straight forward. When you try to dive a bit deeper in to the data (e.g. custom functions, exports, etc) there is still some room for improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude has allowed us to gain insights in to what features our customers are using the most and to visualise their journey through the app.

Yet NOT another analytics tool

  • August 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude's user interface is the most consistent I've ever seen. Once you get going with the chart filtering and selection panel, it gets addictive. It is a highly iterative and composable environment, where staff with no strong technical expertise in reporting or business analytics can feel safe in giving it a go, and ask complex questions about user and account behaviour.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version is extremely limited in extracting real insight from the product that you can show to stakeholders and justify an upgrade. There is no account-level tracking features out of the box, which are essential to any SaaS business. If you don't have a good taxonomy plan to start the journey, you are in an uphill battle with trying to achieve buy-in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been trying to address the issue of not having strong segmentation groups within our business. The product has enabled us to quickly determine who are the activated users, power users, onboarded users, and so on. From there, we were able to capture experimentation groups based the state of these active segments, and the patterns that they exhibit (e.g. dropping off from certain conversion funnels). The main benefit derived from this functionality was agility in experimentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is no other product in the market that comes close as an analytics tool for B2B SaaS. Most other tools are focussed too heavily on Mobile and E-commerce. Amplitude is the only one that supports a complex customer journey like the one you would find in any enterprise-grade software platform. Their causal model is strong too. As a result, it becomes easier to ask the "why" question without permanently needing to rely on a data science team.

From darkness to clarity in record time

  • August 07, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it mixes simplicity and complexity really well.
It's really easy to quicky start doing simple analyses, but you''re never left wanting for more complex tools. Sometimes it feels a bit like magic so it's always good to check the documentation or reach out to support (they're fantastic) to figure out what's happening underneath the hood.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were pre set up templates based on popular models. Everything must be done manually (which also makes sense). Sometimes cohorts become outdated and I wish they would automatically update themselves.
There's nothing *really* to dislike. Amplitude is great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well, everything Product related. I use Amplitude to map out and quantify the entire user journey. I use that data to understand depth and breadth of issues our users are facing. That information is then used to prioritize and plan solutions.

Excellent tool to collect and analyze RUM from out B2B web app

  • August 07, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Ability to capture any metric I can think of.
- Ease of analysis and presentation using their charts.
- Charts are easy to create but they have lots of advanced features.
- Amplitude's customer support have answered all my questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of so far, we have been using it for a couple of years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had no visibility on our web application, after adding Amplitude we have learned how our users are using the application which can help us plan for new features and improvements. Additionally we can now see performance metrics and errors as they happen in production.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with a small set of clear and measurable objectives
