Solid Product Analytics Software with Extensive Knowledge Base Despite Some Feature Gaps
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility: I have been able to create events and dashboards to cover the majority of my product analytics needs. Interface: quite intuitive. Knowledge base: Advanced analytics requires some research but the knowledge base is quite extensive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude's session replays stopped working for some of my apps, and the investigation of the root cause is still ongoing. Amplitude support provided some generic recommendations but it looks like they haven't been very helpful so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude is the main product analytics software I use as a Product Owner. It has provided me with some critical information about the product usage and the customer behavior over the last few years. In particular, it helped prioritize some feature development for the rewrite project and feature enhancements, as well as understand who our customers are and what their workflow in the product looks like. My overall experience has been quite positive even though I have not been able to take advantage of some Amplitude features (session replays) due to them not working properly with some of my products.
Game-Changing Insights and Effortless Usability
What do you like best about the product?
Having previously used GA4 I find Amplitude far easier to use and more robust. The amount of data we have been able to unlock and use to improve the business has been a game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly our Amplitude experience so far has been all positive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has given us visibility into multiple areas that we did not previously have. Allowing us to see the experience truly through the customers eyes and identify any potential friction points.
Insightful Analytics Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the flexibility of the configuration with Amplitude Analytics. We're using it alongside Segment, which lets us pass controlled and granular data into Amplitude. Setting up views has been great, and even though we're still in the POC stage, the results we've seen are strong and promising, providing us with exactly what we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creation of the charts and filters in the dashboards is not as straightforward as it could be. There are some issues in learning curve on creating them properly. One of those was with the time period filters. It seems to kinda default on just the last few days, and we had some hiccups with filtering those. Then the other was when setting up and understanding our data structure, we were adding a variety of events, which we then later deleted. But in the reports, it was still showing up as a deleted unknown event. If it's deleted and unknown, it shouldn't show there. And there was really no way of taking it out from the report. So that was a hiccup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude Analytics surfaces platform complexity and user interactions, helps create user cohorts, and identifies key groups and usage patterns, enhancing our understanding and focusing on value drivers and bottlenecks. As well as establishing user maturity curves.
Great for Conversion Analysis, But UI Needs Work
What do you like best about the product?
I like the funnel conversion feature in Amplitude Analytics. It helps me identify drop-off points and the cohorts to target to reduce drop-offs in the funnel.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's really hard to understand user journey paths. The UI is not intuitive and because there are often a lot of paths it is really hard to get an overall picture of the main paths. A better UI and presentation style can solve for this. Also, the initial setup was tough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude Analytics helps me understand customer segmentation, product engagement, and conversion funnels. It identifies drop-off points in the funnel, allowing me to target cohorts and reduce drop-offs.
Great tool for product teams!
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is exceptionally strong for products with complex interaction patterns. If you care about funnels, retention, engagement, activation flows, and behavioral metrics at scale, it’s one of the best and easiest tools to use once implemented.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside is the initial implementation. Setting up Amplitude properly requires meaningful engineering effort, so it’s not something you can “try casually.” Sending high-quality events needs clear tracking design, developer time, and strong company buy-in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude lets us analyze large volumes of product data quickly without overloading our own databases. Computation is fast, visualizations are clear, and non-technical teams can self-serve without relying on SQL or data engineers.
Powerful Product Analytics with Minor Hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to analyze user behavior once the events are set up properly in Amplitude Analytics. The funnel and cohort analysis features are very powerful and help us understand where users are converting or dropping off. The cohort analysis, in particular, makes it easier to differentiate between new and old users or across different experiment buckets, saving us time from pulling data from multiple sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially it is a little bit hard to understand how everything works, especially custom formulas, events properties. Also, sometimes dashboards take longer to load.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Amplitude Analytics to understand user behavior beyond top metrics, analyze funnel conversions and retention, and track revenue. It saves time by integrating data sources and helps to quickly identify user drop-off points in onboarding or subscription processes.
Effortless Onboarding and Powerful Analytics Features
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how you can start using it in a straightforward way, and as you continue, it gradually reveals more features to help deepen your analysis. I also value that you can create and share dashboard views, updating attributes or events without losing the history of changes. This makes it easy for me to share specific views with my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a noticeable delay before we can start accessing newly created tracking events. Most of the time, we have no clear indication of when these new events will become available, which makes it difficult to predict when we can move forward with actions like releasing a product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool provides me with the flexibility to run data analysis on my own, even without extensive technical expertise. Once the tracking events have been set up, I no longer need to rely on the engineering team to carry out my analyses.
Empowers Designers with Autonomous Insights
What do you like best about the product?
I use Amplitude Analytics frequently to create charts and dashboards for experiments, which helps me understand current user behavior and make design decisions with more confidence. I like the UI in general; it's comfortable to the eyes and easy to use. Tasks like creating, saving as favorites, organizing in folders, and sharing with my team are easy to do. The platform allows me to have more autonomy and move at my own pace since I don't need to rely on data analysts as much as before. Additionally, I enjoy the session replay feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when creating a chart, after adding the events and properties, I try to see how it would look like in a funnel or journey format and I lose the information I added there (events and properties). I wish I could play around (as I am no expert in data tools) without losing the configuration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Amplitude Analytics to create charts and dashboards, understand user behavior, and make informed design decisions. It reduces my dependency on data analysts, giving me autonomy to access data quickly and work at my own pace.
Intuitive and Fast, But AI and Setup Need Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
very quick and solves many join of structured data needs, very intuitive
What do you dislike about the product?
ask ai doesnt work well, the configuration could used a walkthrough
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
quick building of dashboard without the need to build bi infra behind them (like tableau)
Highly Customizable Tool for Growth Marketers
What do you like best about the product?
I like how customizable Amplitude Analytics is, especially the ability to create charts and dashboards for different purposes. I also like the user lookup feature and being able to track user journeys. These aspects make using the tool effective for understanding where users come from and determining which marketing strategies are most effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude tends to work well when either our side or another company's side (e.g., YouTube) has UTM parameters set up. However, sometimes it doesn't detect the source and medium if there are no UTM parameters. I can understand this but in some cases you could infer the source (at least) by referring to another piece of data like 'previous page location' or 'referring domain.' Another issue is that if you have an event that trickles down into other events (like a funnel), sometimes if you've left a filter or grouping on, the data in the next event becomes skewed. It would be nice to have the option of choosing 'funnel' or 'comparison' to either have a ripple effect on all data or just to keep data separate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Amplitude Analytics to track user data as a growth marketer, helping me determine effective marketing strategies and discover issues in our conversion rates by identifying leaks in our customer acquisition funnel.
