Gain quick insights with built-in testing while addressing reporting limitations
What is our primary use case?
I have been working with Amplitude Analytics for around one year, mainly using it alongside GMP products like Google Analytics Four and Google Tag Manager.
We recently started using Amplitude Analytics and are in talks with Amplitude for a partnership. It provides valuable real-time insights, particularly beneficial for media services and e-commerce websites needing immediate data-driven decisions.
How has it helped my organization?
In Amplitude, clients can leverage existing models like the linear model and first-click model to compare their campaign performance based on specific requirements.
What is most valuable?
Amplitude offers flexibility in real-time data analysis, allowing users to make immediate decisions. It provides in-built A/B testing functionality, which eliminates the need for third-party integrations. A
mplitude's session replay feature allows recording of user interactions, which helps identify and fix user challenges on specific pages. The reporting functionalities are superior, particularly with Amplitude's ability to create multi-step funnels, unlike Google Analytics Four.
What needs improvement?
The free features in Amplitude Analytics need enhancement. The limitations, such as not being able to use the splitting method for certain events, restrict reporting capabilities. This contrasts with Google Analytics Four, where there's more freedom in passing parameters and creating reports.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been working with analytics, including Amplitude Analytics, for about one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
There have been no stability issues with Amplitude in the time that I have used it.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Amplitude is scalable, efficiently processing large volumes of data.
How are customer service and support?
Though I had a call with Amplitude Analytics support, the representatives lacked technical knowledge. I resolved most issues through the online community and did not raise any further technical support queries.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I switched from relying primarily on Google Analytics Four due to Amplitude's ability to provide real-time data and in-built A/B testing functionality.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup involves understanding the client's business needs and KPIs. An event taxonomy is created before development begins, ensuring no direct changes are made to the production environment to avoid data noise.
What was our ROI?
In Amplitude, clients can leverage existing models like the linear model and first-click model to compare their campaign performance based on specific requirements.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Amplitude used to charge based on monthly users. However, a recent notification indicated that event count also plays a role in pricing, causing some confusion regarding the cost structure.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend using Amplitude based on individual use cases, especially for real-time reporting and A/B testing features.
I rate Amplitude as an eight out of ten.
Great for websites and flow oriented products (checkouts), but not great for a feature rich product
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is pretty easy to pick and get going. I work on a product that is feature rich and needs tracking of what features are being used, how many time and time spend on each. Amplitude does an amazing job answering most queries out of the box. To understand my customer better, I use amplitude on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a first time user, I was surprised that within 2 weeks of using Amplitude, I bumped into multiple use cases that were not supported by Amplitude out of the box. For instance, Amplitude does not support distinct filter to event property. Lots of questions around time spent (ex: after signing up on an average how many days does it take for a user to spend 30 min on the product) can't be answered out of the box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps keep a close pulse on customers, how they are using my feature rich product.
Analytics tools that anyone can use
What do you like best about the product?
Even if you can't write SQL, you can analyze data. In addition, it visualizes the data, so it is easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can only create up to 10 segments, so I would like to increase it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to analyze users of our services. I am very grateful for the appeal that suits the user.
Amplitude Analytics Review
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, easy to learn and easy to understand. Simple UI and easy to implement workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want more detailed tutorials and use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Active users, feature usage, understanding user behaviour
Its great, but expensive.
What do you like best about the product?
The experience of making charts are easy, and the charts that you want to do are always within a few clicks. Customer Support was also really fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's so expensive, the whole MTU thing as well is kind of a money trap. Not being able to more easily do things like archiving events and so on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it's telling me if my latest features helped improve retention or conversion.
A powerful platform that takes some learning to fully leverage
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of Amplitude is the ability to drill into specific user journeys or event streams and pinpoint what events the user triggered, when they did so, and how. It is also very easy to create new charts based on existing templates. The ability to easily rollup a series of charts into a dashboard is another big plus.
I use Amplitude every day in my role and often find myself creating new charts on the fly. Another awesome part about Amplitude is even if I don't save the chart it keeps a draft version of it in my recents feed so I can jump back into it if I want to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude isn't always intuitive with how its various charts work. I find myself falling back to using just segmentation and sessions because I don't understand how the other types work and don't always have the time to train myself up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps me understand how my product is being used both an over product KPI level and down to the specific event volumes level. With this data I can quickly produce value or benefit analysis which highlights the value my product is bringing to my organization.
Amplitude is Quick & Effective
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude Analytics is smart when building dashboards that are user behaviour related. My job needs a very clear understanding of the user behaviour and Amplitude Analytics really helps me understand this much better.
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude can get overwhelming very very quickly. You need to be constanly on your case and objective. Sometimes your Amplitude set up might not exactly how you want it because of some restrictions here of there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Super quick analysis to start my day or week and kick off all discussions in the right direction.
Pleased with the experience - Data is super responsive
What do you like best about the product?
The pace at which the data comes in and how quick you can analyse on that makes it really usefull to monitor things in real time.
The time it takes as well to build out pretty significant dashboards is also very quick.
A great tool for getting data in the hands of PMs
What do you dislike about the product?
There are limitations in what kinds of charts and calcluations you can do. For basic dashboards and monitoring it is great, but for analysis that require going a bit deeper it is somewhat lacking.
You are limited with the graphs/charts you can create, and the functions you can use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps give insights into how people are using the product, and it helps monitoring and measuring the success of our effeorts.
A decent resource to view eventing
What do you like best about the product?
It works decently well and can be a great way to view your data without needing heavy analysis or sql tooling
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI isn't that great and can be confusing. SOmetimes its hard to find the information needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If I want to know how users are viewing and engaging with our product, I can easily do that in Amplitude.
Allows analysis of experimentation and product functionalities to make decisions
What do you like best about the product?
from the dashboards change the conditions of the analysis I want to see
What do you dislike about the product?
there are experiences like cohort analysis that are not very clear
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
conversion, experimentation, see impact of a feature or an error, cohort analysis and LTV analysis
