Behavioral analytics platform powering personalization at scale

What do you like best about the product?
A critical tool for any marketing tech stack that is aimed at giving its growth and product teams a self-service analytics engine as well as behavioral cohort insights to drive lifecycle marketing - both from visualization as well as from an actionability perspective.
What do you dislike about the product?
None come to mind.

Although it is quite a complex tool, as a consequence of the sheer flexibility and features offered by the platform - hence there is a learning curve before you can utilize the full potential of the tool!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were leveraging behavioral insights to drive hyper-personalization of our CRM campaigns. Just this aspect resulted in an uplift in our weekly conversion rate by > 50% across all our core retention metrics during the busiest time of an e-commerce venture aka Black Friday.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Getting a buy-in from your product and data teams to drive proper data governance from the start is critical to scaling adoption within the wider organization.

Really valuable usage insights I could never construct otherwise

What do you like best about the product?
Able to see how users both in aggregate and in particular navigate & use our product- where they dropoff, how often they do things, and how these vary across groups. I have no background in analytics and can uncover these insights myself.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would appreciate better definitions (or access to definitions) for metrics like 'active user' and 'this order' vs. 'any order.' Occasionally event sub-properties are harder to make use of than regular events in small parts of the product, but this is minor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are learning how users move through our product: what stops them, makes them successful, and how different groups of users behave. This has helped us pinpoint and understand the impact of pain points and improve those methodically.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to dice and splice data quickly into multiple ways and visualize them. The ability to share a chart url that remembers the configuration applied to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The data governance is still a work in progress imo. The ability to create derived properties from existing properties is difficult right now. But not much to complain honestly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segmenting customers into buckets and checking their behavior frequency and event adoption rates. Doing comparison analysis between users coming from different channels and demography.

Quick and easy access to data insights

What do you like best about the product?
It's the perfect analytics tool to empower growth teams to easily and quickly build conversion funnels and retention analysis. It's way faster and easier to use than other tools like Looker or Tableau making it easy to adopt within your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite the easy-to-build charts and dashboards which is a great plus, Amplitude could make charts and dashboards more customizable. This would increase tremendously the value for consumers of the content, increasing their ability to better understand the insights provided by them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Dropoffs and conversion analysis of different user journeys
- Evaluation of A/B tests results
- Data segmentation and cohorts
- Retention analysis
- Track of conversion drivers
- Monitoring of north star metrics and growth metrics trends

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Amplitude is building new features all the time when I need them. Their filter feature in the dashboard is one of the most important. When you're looking at a specific dashboard, you might want to see all that data for a particular user attribute (let's say only for users based in Brazil). We used to need to create different dashboards for different markets we operate in, now it's just one click away.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had more third-party integrations, like with Insider, since we use it as a user activation tool. It would be so easy to observe the drop-offs from our Amplitude user funnel dashboards and then set up some communications/push notifications, etc., according to that data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps us find hidden user patterns in terms of pain points or success. That way, it enables us to iterate and improve our product all the time, based on data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To be honest, I haven't used any other product analytics tool (e.g., Mixpanel). But I am so happy using Amplitude that I've never thought of using any other tool. Its ease of integration, ease of use, creating dashboards & team spaces, notebook feature as a report mean is incredible. I would definitely recommend Amplitude to anyone, especially those who are PMs.

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is incredibly easy to use, with comprehensive FAQs, making the rollout and upskill across the business fast and easy. Amplitude has taken our customer insight to the next level.
What do you dislike about the product?
Automatically importing 'offline' events into amplitude is 'fairly' difficult and time-consuming. We bought a 3rd party ETL tool that assists with this. If amplitude had this capability it would be an all in one tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What are our customers doing on our website? How do they interact with new features? What experiment is running better than the control? Where do our customers drop out of our sales funnel?

Perfection - if your customer lifecycle is frequent

What do you like best about the product?
The speed of building analysis is second to none, and the ability to carry continue to dive deeper and deeper in to more focused analysis (using the microscope feature) is super powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude is clearly built to focus on products where customers are frequently using the product; most analysis options are limited to considering just 90 days. If your customer lifecycle is longer than that, you'll be pretty frustrated. To this end, I think the query tool should be a first-class citizen, not locked away behind another product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Amplitude to understand customer behavior, then devise experiments, and finally monitor the ongoing response to the experiment. We've been able to extract quite a few chunky (100%+) conversion uplifts using the insights from our Amplitude insights.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider your customer lifecycle and if it's suited to Amplitude, given it's focus on analysing customers that frequently reuse the app.

Very easy to use platform

What do you like best about the product?
the platfomr allows you to drill down into the steps of the marketing funnel and perform anlatyics on the fly. It is easy to sahre tempatles with my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
it is is slow to revert back changes made and is time consuming to redo analytics. I have to reset and redo searches and that is time consuming to get back to the right data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
solving analytics in the funnel which include converison time and journey times.

What do you like best about the product?
I started a new role at my company around the same time we signed for Amplitude. As someone who had no background in any type of analytics, I found Amplitude to be the epitome of user-friendly and beginner-friendly. Within just a couple months, I was an expert in Amplitude and ran training sessions with my colleagues to get them well-adjusted to running their own queries and pulling data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The implementation was kind of drawn out, it took us around 2 months to fully integrate and get training. Given, there are tons of youtube videos online to help you train yourself, but our first training with our CSM wasn't until the end of our implementation process, and it was a very watered down training. I found the Youtube videos to have more to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For an app, it's so important to see the user's journey after a drop-off from a desired outcome. In Amplitude, we can highlight the cohort of users who drop-off before completing a funnel of events to the desired outcome. After selecting the drop-off cohort, we can see what actions they took after dropping off and implement comms and pushes within those common actions to get them to change to a converted user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are an app, Amplitude will change the way you look at user experience and user journeys throughout your app. Amplitude will help you determine how to get a user from 'Sign Up' to 'Check out'.
