  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It builds best practices into the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really can't think of anything at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to validate Product opportunities during planning, target users for emails based on behavioral data for user interviews, monitor certain funnels to find bugs in the product, measure adoption/retention of features, and generally understand the characteristics of our users.

Incredible data analysis tool

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Allows you to cut through a high volume data with just a few clicks. The types of analyses available and visualization options are very comprehensive. Amplitude saves so much time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more intricate analysis still requires SQL. For example, I can't easily join on properties.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Amplitude to determine how users currently behave, identify opportunities, then run tests and evaluate the results.
The visualization tools, like Paths, allow us to determine whether the users are engaging on the right things. Amplitude allows us to easily view events or data with different segments graphed alongside one another for easy comparison.

Digital product intelligence, democratized

  • August 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude, as a company, has a strong mission and consistently releases features/products that support that mission. Though I like what I have seen with the release of their Experiment and Recommend products, our organization has not yet adopted those products - so, I will only speak to their Analytics product.

Our org has adopted Amplitude Analytics as a trusted source for product insights, behavioral analysis, and metric tracking across a significant portion of our digital products. I consistently hear about how user-friendly the tool is. The ability to "read" chart queries like a sentence is fantastic. This builds trust in analyses, and allows novice users to arrive at valuable insights much more quickly. We also love how easy it is to organize and share content in Amplitude. The tool excels when it comes to "playing" with your data, and using others' charts as templates (or jumping-off points). Additionally, Amplitude's many features help users ask the right questions, and perform the right analyses to end up with actionable insights. All this adds up to one word in my mind: democratization. With some basic instruction, individuals of any role can understand how to use this tool to better understand their product and their users.

Beyond the tool itself, Amplitude also provides excellent customer support and a driven, experienced customer success program. Every Amplitude employee I've spoken to genuinely believes in their product, which I find very telling.
What do you dislike about the product?
The challenges we have with Amplitude are mostly due to the nature of our business. We have hundreds of products/platforms, and we're collecting data from many sources. It doesn't seem like Amplitude was necessarily built with this type of enterprise in mind. They have done a great job adjusting to our needs, though - did I mention how great their customer success team is?

To elaborate - our challenges have come from having piles of messy data and users being unclear on which events/properties to select for a given query. User-friendliness can be a double-edged sword if someone is selecting the wrong data. However, with the improvements in their "Govern" feature and with the recent acquisition of Iteratively, it seems like Amplitude is making improvements in this area. Excited to see what they come out with next!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generally, we are using Amplitude Analytics to better understand the end-to-end journey of our users. As mentioned, we are utilizing the tool for many of our products, so we have many use cases. They include:

-Team/exec metric tracking
-Tracking account-level metrics like usage/consumption
-Tracking user-level behavior (identifying user drop-offs via funnel analysis, measuring retention and churn, etc.)
-Creating segments of users (which can then be synced to downstream tools)
-Visualizing/linking data from many sources
-Automatically notifying relevant individuals when there are data spikes/drops
-Troubleshooting data issues

We've seen many benefits from using Amplitude - generally, it has allowed our product teams to arrive at product insights more quickly. An example of a success story comes from one of our product teams, who (through a funnel analysis drop-off) identified a pain point for our users. The team implemented a new feature to help users through this step and saw a 25% increase in conversion rates.

I love it is so easy to track the users conversion on Amplitude

  • August 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Track in real time what is happening with users
What do you dislike about the product?
It is kind of hard to search for an event. The easiest it to track it by doing the flow on the app, but would be nice to be able to search for something on the platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conversion related problems. Issues on what we are showing/not showing to users

    Computer Software

Great Analytics. Smooth Integration.

  • August 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of integration is the best part. A basic javascript SDK with as minimal as 1 line of code added to start capturing data. Along with that, it also provides functionalities for customized capturing of events through their HTTP API.
What do you dislike about the product?
Charts are limited to showing only 10 events. But this limit is understood to maintain a clean uncluttered UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem this has solved is providing us with a view of how users are interacting with our website and identify scopes of improvement and accordingly identify what's working what's not.

Amplitude is an intuitive tool for fast charts that can also be used cross-company by non-analysts.

  • August 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Chart types, primarily funnel analysis, and the option to get ab test significance is beneficial. It's excellent that creating charts is extremely easy and intuitive, that we can develop cohorts and calculated parameters, and that you don't need to write complex queries for that. It's runtime - so it's a lot easier for non-analysts to create a chart, thus making it a tool that can be used cross-company even by non-analysts, unlike Tableau and looker.
Amplitude offers many chart types that enable viewing any data (absolute, unique, pct), which is very helpful.
Pathfinder is fantastic, and I enjoy using notebook view as well. Very helpful.
I love the fact that I can easily create an ab test report and get the numbers as well as confidence level. This is very helpful as I don't need to copy the numbers into an external tool.
Overall I'd certainly recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no lower-level analysis:
A user cannot create conditions between steps (such as use step 2 only if a specific parameter for both steps 1 and 2 is identical),
cannot choose p-value or significance level and no option for z-test,
cannot redefine or group values of a parameter, so for example, if I have a date parameter, I can't group it by dow, not even manually,
No option to have non-mandatory steps in a funnel, so if I create a funnel that can go a few ways, I'll need to create a separate report for each.
There is currently no option for an "exit" event, so I can't measure nicely how many users have dropped at a certain point over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The AB test section is a huge advantage, as we don't need to transfer the data from Amplitude into external AB testing tools. The funnel is also helpful and allows us to see user flow and where we clearly lose them.
Using Amplitude has improved our workflow significantly, as each management member can take a report we created for them and tweak it to conduct their research.
We gained numerous insights quickly, which allowed quick solutions and a better experience for our customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amplitude analytics is an incredible tool that I'd highly recommend to every analytics team working with big data.
The built-in logic, events auto-completion, AB test section, and numerous chart options are a vast asset, saving time and allowing non-analysts in the company to use the charts and even create their simple ones.

What do you like best about the product?
Making data-driven decisions is much simpler once you start using amplitude. It gives the entire team complete visibility on the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
You might get overwhelmed with the large number of features. You might not always know which feature to use to get your answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is democratizing data access amongst our product, growth, marketing, sales, and engineering teams, allowing everyone to make data-driven decisions.

Simple to use and Awesome for analytics

  • August 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user streams, event segmentations, Dashboards and simple to query charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The updated dashboard is not smooth enough. When I try to move around the charts, they don't fit in properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude is like the heart of our business Analytics. Everything like a new feature performance, user retention, weekly active users, etc., are all widely used and super beneficial for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We have used multiple Analytic tools available and found Amplitude to be simple and easy to use while keeping the cost to company much lower.

Jack of all trades product analytics tool

  • August 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is a powerful product analytics tool, more so than the other analytics tools that I've used. It's comprehensive and all-rounded, with the breadth of the charts available with the tool. Within each chart, there are multiple use cases, and it's up to the user on how you want to use it.

Amplitude is easy to learn - you can pick up Amplitude reasonably well if you've used other Analytics tools. With Amplitude's training, Amplitude's knowledge base, and responsive customer service, your questions will no doubt be answered within a day.

Amplitude is also flexible. They offer different methods for ingesting data into their system, showing that they understand that they know the different needs of different customers. They also offer Govern, enabling us to choose between a code change or changing within Amplitude to update our tracking.

If you have a feature request or found a bug, they are quick to work on it or include it into their backlog. They are transparent with feature releases too.

Their Customer Success Managers are ever ready to help you find a solution to ensure that your company is tracking standards are at its best, going beyond just solutions boxed by Amplitude's tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to master as they have a range of charts, and each chart has different modes—Master in the sense that there are many things to learn. It would be super helpful that they expand their knowledge base further with even more use cases.

However, I see this as a blessing as it challenges me to do product analytics and shows their breadth of product analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Areas of growth, retention, customer lifecycle and monitoring our event tracking health.
