My favorite tool to use

  • August 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, easy to learn to use, gives me access to so much data right at my fingertips. I appreciate how fast it loads compared to my other SaaS tools. It has so many different helpful kinds of charts and does so much with very little effort. The notebook feature makes it super easy to do a data analysis and present findings, dashboards are easy to get a peek at everything, and the workspace keeps track of every chart I make so I can go back to them. I find the user lookup very helpful for me to see my events and look at other users. I use amplitude almost every day to make decisions myself in product. I like that I can pull up data right when I'm on a call and see how something is performing. Amplitude is literally my favorite SaaS tool of the many I use as a Product Manager though and I'm pleased to be able to sing its praises.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no way to clear data easily from all your drop downs. So if there's a bug that sends a bunch of extra parameters with your events, that's there forever. You can manually hide that in the Govern tool but it's tedious. I also wish the user event feed was a little more real-time. Sometimes I'm trying to track down an event sequence and I'm waiting for Amplitude to tell me which event I've just triggered for a few minutes. Another minor issue is that its hard to keep charts organized. I make so many sometimes with only small differences from each other. I would like to be able to organize them in folders or add tags somehow. I mainly just end up throwing a lot of stuff on the dashboards so I can find it again more than because I need to monitor on a regular basis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everyone uses it to monitor releases, read A/B test data, track down user complaints, measure our onboarding funnels... so much. Pathinder is an especially useful tool because we can use it to find out where users ARE going when they aren't behaving as expected. I recently used funnels and pathfinder to identify some technical problems with our onboarding not always behaving as expected. The dev team was able to hone in on that and we improved conversion through the intended sequence. Amplitude also makes it very easy to see that improvement by segmenting by version. We even have customer support using it to help us identify exactly where specific users have problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have data and want more folks in your organization to be able to easily access and analyze from it, Amplitude is great

A powerful tool that quickly gets to the heart of the real questions being asked

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is a powerful tool that "gets it". As a consultant (with no incentives from Amplitude) I love proposing and implementing Amplitude as one of the best solutions. Using Amplitude, I can quickly help clients go from first-order analytics (counting things) to a much higher order of analytics. This means my clients (international retailers, B2B IT software as a service company, innovative fintech client used by almost everyone, etc.) can quickly instrument and understand what is making a difference! What campaign, what channel, what parts of their website, app etc. lead to high lifetime value customers, new customers, more revenue etc., etc. etc. The benefit doesn't stop at analysis as Amplitude makes activation and targeting easy. If you see friction and dropoff at a certain point in a user journey, with a few clicks, I can create a cohort and activate a marketing campaign against it. I could go on and on about the real-time analytics, the integration of statistical causality analysis, the ability to analyze and understand the engagement and health of my customer base, etc. Finally, the support Amplitude provides to clients is first-class. Many other vendors I bring to clients don't do nearly as good of a job!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is that it takes some time to get the instrumentation in place and done right, often with developer help needed. Other tools require the same, but in an implementation, when you want to be getting at the insights, it is tough to be patient while everything is getting set up, tested and pushed to a production environment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
E-commerce: Real-time analytics when other platforms couldn't do true real-time. Unifying usage and product analytics after a suite of products have been integrated after being acquired under one roof. Designing and implementing Amplitude for conversion tracking for a popular fintech product/app
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for real-time, higher-order (causality & correlation) analytics, A/B testing, recommendations, and/or marketing activation against cohorts of people you uncover, Amplitude is a great solution. Far above and beyond traditional website analytics.

Great tool for tracking client activity for Software as a Service companies

  • August 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude allows you to check high-level information (big picture) or even go into deep detail for time spent, usage, reoccurring visits...
Understanding trends is quite simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
User Experience: sometimes reloading takes a bit long.

Learning curve: it took me some weeks to understand how to navigate, build charts and make sense out of the noise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefits: real time visualization of platform activity.
Problems solved: knowing when someone did not use the platform even though he/she said that used it.
Understanding effect of client estimulations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Invest some time in order to get used to the platform. Formal training is key.
Once those steps are all done, you should be all set.

What do you like best about the product?
The cohorts tools! So easy and straightforward
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far! If I had to choose something, I'd say the tools for sharing, it'd be nice to have an option for people to comment or propose changes on charts or cohorts without actually giving them the ability to edit them
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Personally, view and interaction rate of a few features on our platform but the team is solving quite an array of problems with Amplitude!

I highly recommend using Amplitude!

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is incredibly powerful. I was using another analytics tool not long ago and could not slice up data as I can in Amplitude to truly understand my customer's behavior. The ability to segment users while querying events is beneficial. I am also a huge fan of "Govern," this is a must-have for every organization to maintain data integrity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to add "anytime in each " option while building cohorts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am constantly using Amplitude to solve a range of problems to increase retention, fix broken funnels and maintain data integrity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Honestly, it's a must-have for organizations that want to maintain data integrity. No other competitors are able to compete with Govern.

    Computer Software

Very easy to use

What do you like best about the product?
Event Segmentation, Pathfinders and Funnel Analysis
What do you dislike about the product?
None I can think of.
But probably it can help us send alerts to an email or to a group when we create a dashboard and there is a certain metric drop ( maybe this feature already exists, not sure)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Yes, I'm using Amplitude Analytics to track multiple features' usage. It's also helping me know which step is involving a lot of time from the user.

Amazing Analytics Product with superpowers

  • August 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The way they have segmented the different kinds of data interpretation methods. To look at conversion rates they have funnels, to look at absolute number they have event segmentation. Basically, the ease of visualising the data is superb.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't be intuitive about certain things, it is better to read the documentation to be at a safer side while dealing with the terminology defined by Amplitude.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving our day to day Product analytics along with understanding user behaviours. We use the Amplitude data to do RCAs almost on a daily basis. Moreover, we also tried our hands on Amplitude Experiment which had a few bugs but if fixed can be a really product for SaaS companies to run experiments on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amplitude Analytics can really provide you with valuable insights to boost your business use case. Moreover, the people at Amplitude are responsive and provide support for your problems. Nirmit and his team have solved our problems many times.

Amplitude is building new generation of product analysts

  • August 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility is outstanding. You can do extremely complex reports in no time. Funnels and cohorts are quite complicated concepts when attempted from SQL or raw data. Amplitude greatly liberalized those concepts.

- Funnel reports - the depths there are incredible, from simple drop-offs to digging deep into time to convert - analyzing time between events. Understanding user progress within the app is essential.

- User journeys, flows - an essential tool for understanding user flows, discovering irregularities or on the contrary common flows.

- Dashboards - day-to-day monitoring is an important part to maintain a healthy product. Amplitude helps you build flexible and blazing fast dashboards or receive email alerts.

- Integrations - revenuecat, onesignal, appsflyer, export to amazon bucket. Even though the native functionality is extensive - integration capabilities extend utility even more.

- Bridging the gaps between web and mobile - Amplitude allows building omnichannel analytics. When building complex journeys web to app and app to web capability to track to build reports covering both projects is extraordinary.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reports based on user property are still to be improved. When switching report types cohort settings break. Amplitude is still incredibly fast for building reports covering millions of events. However recent performance has been gradually slowing down from update to update.

Web performance - complex dashboards use a lot of memory and can get sluggish pretty fast.

Initial onboarding - for a seasoned specialist everything is extremely logical and easy to grasp. But for someone greener, the amount of information you are expected to know might be overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What teams use amplitude:

Product team - from health metrics to feature reports help build a continuous process of improvement and analytics.
Quality assurance - investigating journeys and content that may lead to a failure - this is something amplitude helps as well.
Customer support - understanding how users really use the product is paramount
