First time Amplitude user

What do you like best about the product?
1) Easy to get started if the event structuring is done right
2) We rely heavily on standard dashboards for org-wide sharing of key product metrics. Having such a ready-reference dashboard has been a lifesaver.
3) Performance is absolutely top-notch!
What do you dislike about the product?
1) You really need to get the event structure & taxonomy right is critical. Not just an Amplitude issue, applies to other such systems as well.
2) It is easy to get lost in heaps of graphs (good & bad!)
3) While Amplitude talks about NSM it would be nice to have a way of defining the key product themes/strategies and tying NSM dashboard mapped to these themes & strategies.
4) Pricing, Licensing & feature-set: compared with Mixpanel & Clevertap this is an expensive product and doesn't have the same full-stack of features for eg A/B is separate, sending in-journey messages to user is separate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) All product metrics are now centralized, we run board meetings powered by Amplitude dashboards
2) PMs who own specific themes rely on Amplitude for tracking the impact & progress of their work
3) This is our go-to tool for "data-backed" decisions & routinely pull this up in product & engg review meetings.

Great tool to make data driven decisions, some basic statistical tools are missing.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to make charts for everyone. Easy to track data. Structure is well made. Governing data is also very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Basic statistical questions are often hard to answer. Making calculations with data is only very basic. Requiring us to use other tools ti make such data queries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maily product questions. We can run ab experiments and track user behaviour throughout our apps.

Creating Your Analytics Tool In House is Waste of Time

  • February 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We enabled every team member in the team to easily track the charts about their OKRs by Amplitude. There is no effort to educate people, no confusion between the team members. Our product/Data team creates the charts and all team members can create dashboards for their squad and track daily basis. Creating Your Analytics tool In house is waste of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the chart types such as compass, personas, etc. are hard to manage. There is a house effort to understand and educate the team members to use it effectively. Sometimes the data may be meaningless when you use those types of charts. Those chart types can be made easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Enabled all team members to use Amplitude
- Events can be easily managed in the dashboard
- We get rid of lots of efforts to create an analytics dashboard on our own.
- All team members become on the same page in terms of analytics. It was a huge problem in our team before Amplitude.

Best user friendly product analytics tool

What do you like best about the product?
It's straightforward to use, and you don't need a lot of time to master the tool as you can create a complex report without having the SQL knowledge. Hence, many people, even with low technical background, can use it. Also, you can share the insights quickly with your team using their notebook feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a rare scenario, but sometimes you can't get too creative, and you´re limited to the amplitude features, but it will affect you if you want to do some crazy thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Amplitude for all kinds of analysis from tracking the daily KPIs to analyzing the impact of new features or the engagement.

Amplitude gets the job done but needs more improvements

  • February 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and build graphs. I use the most are the funnels and segmentation. Comparing AB Tests that we run on Omptimizely. I like that it is easy to create segments of users as if I am using SQL. I think AMp is the only one that has a funnel report that has an option to choose the "Events performed in...". Which i have not seen other competitors have. Or maybe I am not aware of.
I like the ability to add Titles and Descriptions on the graphs and choose the color of bars.
What do you dislike about the product?
Out of all 20 or something graphs available, I only use 2. The rest are not intuitive. It is not because of my lack of trying. I have tried to use all of them but nothing is useful other than the 2.
I have created so much graphs, drafts and saved ones, but the UI has no way of organizing my charts. I rely mostly on copying the links or saving them in bookmarks and organize them somewhere else.
The Dashboard is very limited and restrictive in design. It is nothing compared to Google Datastudio.
The bar graph sucks in segmentation graph when adding more dimensions. Mixpanel showed me their version and it just makes more sense how they do it. Amp is very clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it mostly in analyzing our AB Tests using the Funnels. Since because I cannot replicate the funnels using any other medium or platform. Without this, I would probably not use Amplitude for anything else.

What do you like best about the product?
very intuitive and also easy to learn new features. Doesn't require any type of training.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike, but if some sample or template is provided or how-to articles on new features will be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
trying to solve customer journey and also the overall health of our product. Amplitude helps us to easily see that.

Great and versatile analytics platform for data professionals and non-technical users alike.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the simple drag and drop querying functionality native to all chart types. I also enjoy the same when making user cohorts.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to get churn/session level data. For example if I want to understand how many days in a week our users have logged in that is difficult to extract.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A/B testing for new features, understanding in-game behavioral effects, understanding the effectiveness of in-game promotions the list goes on.

Amplitude accelerates speed to actionable insights

  • February 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and low barrier of integration with our CDP (Segment). Really helps to 'visualize' customer data and make it accessible to a wide audience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to be able to lean on the server-side integration, but will have to defer until the level of information related to the client's browser / context can be made available via Segment's server side setting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Segment data in Amplitude to analyze drop-off points and assess how to reduce friction for consumers, which ultimately drives conversion rate improvement.

Amplitude is the ruler of events-based reporting

  • February 09, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the consistent date-based filtering options across Amplitude's platform, even when I change the type of report type I'm using. Once you get the hang of the interface, building reports becomes easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I struggle to get in-depth with the filtered segments. I can't do complex filtering logic, and I don't find many options to segment users in the report. We are a SaaS company, so I would love to display things like a customer's MRR or employee size right in my report, as well as filter users out by something as granular as their permissions. Without this granularity, I have to use multiple reporting tools, which I would prefer to do all from Amplitude.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work on my company's product team, and we leverage Amplitude to track usage and behaviors across our platform. I create separate reporting dashboards for each feature, using the same core metrics to determine success. Amplitude provides us an additional lens to understand product success by pairing our event tracking reports with our various customer feedback channels.

Great Tool to discover surface level trends

  • February 09, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease and flexibility of use; as long as you have a robust map of event properties built on your site (i.e., web visit, account creation, registering, purchase), Amplitude becomes incredibly valuable to dig into how traffic behaves on your website
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude Analytics doesn't give you the same level of depth / insights you might be interested say compared to a product like Looker, but I don't necessarily think that's a problem. I use those two things differently - Amplitude to get quick insights into discovering whether there's been any significant changes in actions taken on the site and troubleshooting where the problems are, and then Looker to do more business-analytics insights
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this to measure the impact of new growth initiatives taken on our site, as well as quickly identify problem areas whenever we see an unexplained decrease in say traffic or conversions. It's pretty easy to discern for example which channels have driven the most growth for us.
