Excellent customization and deep dig options
What do you like best about the product?
Using Amplitude has really given my company the opportunity to have an objective look at the state of affairs in areas and scopes that we truly care about, the customization options are really unique and the way you can target and slice data is truly one of a kind.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are instances when service is delayed or visibly broken, but Amplitude does provide heads up to users prior to client side actually seeing/feeling the pain of not being able to use their service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the issue of identifying which markets and which cohorts are really helping us and which ones are holding us back. Performance wise, we use Amplitude to maximize A/B test results and help identify clear winners.
Powerful tools, bad dashboarding
What do you like best about the product?
The funnel tool is really handy. It measures the number of users who complete event 1, then go on to event 2, and how long it takes them. This, and many other Amplitude tools (pathfinder, retention, churn,) would be very annoying to create from scratch with SQL, but with Amplitude, it's a simple matter of drag and drop.
What do you dislike about the product?
For people used to the capability of Looker or Tableau, Amplitude's dashboard capability is frustrating. You can't create subheadings, tiles only come in a few limited sizes, and you can't customize colors. It makes the dashboards hard to read or present after more than 4 charts.
The users and cohorts tool has a lot of potential from a sales/account management/marketing perspective, but the reporting here is pretty limited. I look forward to seeing what Amplitude does with it in the future.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude is great for measuring how users are interacting with our newly launched product. It helps us find places where users get confused, the most useful features, and how to define an "active" user.
Easy to use Data Tool for PMs
What do you like best about the product?
With the proper training, Amplotude allows a non-technical product person to quickly onboard the data structure and start using it for product discovery. Such instant access to data is a potent tool for product managers. For me, Amplitude is a starting point for any product question I have.
The ability to run both high-level product dashboards and, at the same time, being able to dig deeper per user level is such a powerful combination. Observing a particular user behavior usually gives more insights than anything else. I typically do that before any high-level analysis.
The other best part of Amplitude is the generosity of smaller startups. It's straightforward to start tracking your product performance with Amplitude using their free tier.
The data set up and data managing process is also built pretty efficiently. It gives a complete overview of all the inputs and helps to make any minor fixes right on top of the existing data layer. Pretty useful for sometimes messy product development at startups :)

What do you dislike about the product?
Retention analysis is, unfortunately, the biggest issue I have. If I wanted to know how long a user stays on your platform/product based on what features they used, it's not as intiuituve. Would also be great to be able to order your pinned dashboards by things like date created, etc. This would allow me to sort through based on when I created the dashboard.
Also, their lack of visualizations needed for live storytelling is unfortunate. At a user level, Amplitude does not give any way to present data. Looking through their help center, there is no best way to accomplish this.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retention analysis and using it to create dashboards for launched Experiments. Also using it to answer Ad-hoc questions.
Very Easy To Use
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can use different charts and graphs based on my desired outcome. I usually use this for evaluating the usage and views we're getting on some of our website pages. I'm able to share this externally with team members and it's become a very helpful tool that we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the only thing that could be slightly confusing is that there is so much to learn. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I need to see if there are some training out there that will help me understand the various features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently solving our ability to understand the metrics behind certain website pages. We are using this information to help us make strategic decisions about the long-term use of certain website entry points
Amplitude has been a great tool for understanding overall trends and conversions.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Amplitude gives the ability to analyze conversions and counts of differing cohorts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some events are not recorded in Amplitude. The events are missed or fall through the cracks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding conversion rates for different cohorts during beta testing a new product feature.
Amplitude Analytics is very helpful for all sorts of analysis and intuitive to use

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just spend some time to get a lay of the land and all that Amplitude has to offer. Most of what we do manually can be automated easily with Amplitude
Great analytics product for smaller teams or startups
What do you like best about the product?
If you're a beginner to analytics, Amplitude often has you covered. It can generate the most commonly used graph types automatically, making sure you're on top of the most important numbers the business needs.
It's also quite user-friendly and allows you to build custom dashboards quickly. As someone data-driven but new to the platform, I was able to quite quickly pick up the basics and dig into the data within minutes.
Things I really liked:
+ Automated generation of most high level KPI's
+ Automated user persona segmentation
+ Tracking user flows of specific types of users

What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude may not be for large organizations with inhouse data scientists. The data is cleanly and clearly presented, with the slight drawback of having a limit to the types of ways you can view or present the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Amplitude to look at our business KPI's and identify problem areas and improvement opportunities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A must-get for smaller or intermediate teams or businesses, especially those without a large analytics team..
Great for surfacing the right product insights
What do you like best about the product?
Cohort analysis and event segmentation. These features single handedly make Amplitude extremely useful for anyone in product or product marketing roles.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that cohort population over time isn't completely fleshed out yet. It's a beta, which I get, but users should be allowed to check beyond the default 30 day timeline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Which features are the most impactful, and what leads to the most user engagement or referral growth. This has helped us be more targeted in our experimentation and segmentation strategy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure you build the right tracking plan. Data labeling and cleanliness can make or break an implementation, you need to ensure that data is tracked in a way understandable by people who aren't engineers.
Great product analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to put together a wide variety of visualizations and analyses on the fly. In addition, the interface is so simple that others, regardless of their background or experience, can learn how to use Amplitude and use it as a self-serve analytics tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The simplicity of Amplitude does make it unsuitable for more complex analyses, although more complex analyses of that nature should probably be queried directly from a company's databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are learning how users are engaging with our product. We can learn what percentage of users are using our new feature or how well are users being retained. We also use the A/B testing features to quickly gain insight into how a new feature might be doing. It is also helpful for identifying any bugs or changes in performance that are out of the ordinary.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is such an easy tool to use and I have trained many non-analytics folks on how to use it. All of them were amazed at how easy they could put visualizations together and discover insights on their own.
An intuitive analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
Analytics can be intimidating. Amplitude makes it easy. A great tool to pick up and run with thanks to its intuitive, easy-to-use interface. The Google extension is useful also!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is I can't rely on it solely for all of our analytics—I use this tool in conjunction with Salesforce. Amplitude gives me an easy way to look and traffic, lead source, and conversion % whereas Salesforce gets into the nitty-gritty like lead status and ACV.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Amplitude to help measure the performance of campaigns and unique pieces of content on our website and identify areas for improvement, particularly traffic source and conversion.
