Easy to use, meets my business needs

  • January 30, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
After a slight learning curve, Ampltitude meets my business goals – works well for my consumer tech use case. I'm in Ampltude about 2 hours per day and am rarely frustrated or limited in functionality – able to answer most quant questions from my team with ease.
The feature stickiness tool + user behavior threshold compass seem relatively new & have been enormously useful – they're slightly buried in the list of chart types.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's occasionally inconsistency with what graphical tools are available for which chart tyoes, like time period comparisons. These seem to be added often, but there isn't currently an Amplitude updates/releases feed where I can check for new functionality.
Some of the dashboard-building functionality is clunky, but legible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Determining user engagement trends, finding retentive features, cohort analysis – helps drive business need of userbase + activity growth

Amplitude Analytics - Wins in 2024

  • January 30, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is super easy to setup and configure and has a lot of quick customizability to cater to your tech company's needs. We chose it because the Reporting and Dashboarding UI is also best in class. It's a tool that doesn't take months of usage to begin to learn and understand your apps usage and data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation and instructions (videos, content, etc.) for "Advanced Topics" like Journeys Reporting is not as great as some of the beginner material. There's definitely a learning curve to move beyond intermediate usage. Also, it seems the Docs are catered more towards Engineering and technical teams over Product Managers who, depending on the company, may be more of the primary users of the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our application is complex and has a very large user interface (that changes a lot). Amplitude's configuration allows us to track usage at the code/event layer, which allows us to focus less on changes in our UI and more on how the user is interacting with our features and workflows.

Overall good but still have some improvement could be done in Data Validation and User Path Analysis

  • January 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's fast enough to pull a large data set and it could save the visualization into a url that will freeze the setting. This is very helpful for sharing the charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I need to validate my data. For example, am I including the right group of users. Amplitude has a good front end to show the final charts but it tells limited story behind of the charts.

For User Path, it can now filter out some events. However, I may need to skip some events category as a whole. For example, I may need to skip all click events within 1 page and only mornitor the user path from pages to pages. I can't do that easily because there are so many click events could be done within the same page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly view the trend of events usage and see whether our tracking is working well.

Very powerful reporting tool with great support!

What do you like best about the product?
The support is top notch. If you need help getting data on something, you can submit a support ticket and get help from their great support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to set things up if you don't know what you're doing. Also the dashboards can be somewhat rigid and you can't fully combine everything you want into a single view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This gives us critical information about where our users are spending the most amount of time in the platform, and which users on a given account are the most active.

Nice

What do you like best about the product?
Oh, I really like how Amplitude Analytics provides in-depth insights into user behavior and helps me understand how people interact with my website or app. The real-time analytics and user-friendly interface make it easy for me to track key metrics and make data-driven decisions. Plus, the platform's flexibility allows me to create custom reports and analyze specific events, giving me a comprehensive view of user engagement. Overall, it's a powerful tool that greatly enhances my ability to optimize and improve the user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, one thing that can be a bit challenging with Amplitude Analytics is the learning curve. It took me some time to fully grasp all the features and functionalities the platform offers. The abundance of options and settings can be overwhelming for beginners, and I wish there were more comprehensive tutorials or guides to make the onboarding process smoother.

Additionally, while the basic features are user-friendly, some advanced functionalities may require a deeper understanding of analytics concepts. Sometimes, I find myself spending extra time figuring out how to set up more complex analyses or interpret certain data points.

Lastly, the cost can be a consideration for smaller businesses or startups. The pricing structure may be a bit steep for those on a tight budget, especially as the scale of data and usage increases. It would be great to see more affordable plans or flexible options tailored to the needs of smaller businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude Analytics is instrumental in solving several crucial problems related to understanding user behavior and improving the overall performance of my website or app. Here are a few key benefits:

Insights into User Behavior: Amplitude helps me gain deep insights into how users interact with my platform. By tracking user journeys, identifying popular features, and analyzing drop-off points, I can make informed decisions to enhance the overall user experience.

Data-Driven Decision-Making: With Amplitude, I can base my decisions on real-time, accurate data rather than relying on assumptions or gut feelings. This ensures that any changes or updates I make to the platform are backed by solid analytics, increasing the likelihood of success.

Optimizing User Engagement: Understanding user engagement patterns allows me to optimize the content, features, and overall design of my website or app. This helps in retaining users, increasing session durations, and ultimately driving business goals.

Personalization and Targeting: Amplitude enables me to create targeted marketing campaigns and personalized experiences. By analyzing user segments and behavior, I can tailor messages and promotions to specific audiences, improving the effectiveness of my marketing efforts.

Identifying and Fixing Issues: The platform's ability to track events and user interactions helps me quickly identify any technical issues or bottlenecks within the application. This proactive approach allows for prompt issue resolution, ensuring a smooth user experience.

In summary, Amplitude Analytics is a valuable tool for me as it provides the insights needed to refine and optimize my digital presence, ultimately leading to better user satisfaction and business success.

Great tool for insights on app usage, retention and growth

  • January 25, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I believe the ease of use is one of the main selling points of Amplitude. After the team configured it and mapped events (pretty quickly, btw), I didn't need to expend a second reading docs or tutorials to start viewing the data I needed and answering the questions I had on app usage, retention, funnels, etc. I use it daily and it's my team's main platform for dashboards regarding our app (we do have GA4, but we rarely use it for this purpose, since Amplitude gives us a better view of our app and users). It has some nice integrations, with Facebook Audiences, for example. Or even sending data back to GA4. It's much more powerful than a simple dashboard and analytics tool. I highly recommend it for any team looking to deeply understand their app usage and customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only 2 things I miss in Amplitude. The first one is more cross chart controls (like in Looker Studio), being able to apply one time filter, for example, that applies to all charts in a dashboard. Or cohort filters and so on. The other thing is a bit more complicated, I know, but it would be nice to have a visual event setup. Like Facebook Event Setup Tool. A bit of a stretch, I know, but it could work for front-end events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude gives me and my team a clear understanding of our app usage, user funnel and cohorts. Making it easy to understand what drives our users to return and what makes them do what we want them to do.
