An intuitive and easy to use solution that can be used for transformation and quick data migrations from one platform to another

  • July 21, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We use Workato for iPaaS, which is like a middleware enterprise service bus. We use it for transformation, quick data migrations from one platform to another, and building connectivity. It's got over 300 pre-built connectors. We use it mostly for migration projects for quick benefits over traditional solutions.

What is most valuable?

Workato is low code, intuitive, and easy to use. The biggest feature of Workato is its pre-built connectors. Suppose you have to move something between Salesforce and ServiceNow. Based on the volume of data you're looking at and the complexity, this would take anywhere between three to six months in SSIS. With Workato, you can do it in two to four weeks once you have all the data and requirements mapped out.

What needs improvement?

Workato's Extract, transform, and load (ETL) and extract, load, and transform (ELT) are not very strong and could be improved for very complex transformations. Workato's licensing model is a bit confusing, and it's not very transparent. They charge for SAP, but then there's a cap on the number of transactions as well. I found it very difficult to understand how each transaction is considered.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Workato for more than two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I had no issues with Workato’s stability.

I rate Workato a nine out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Workato is a pretty scalable solution. About three to four of our customers are using Workato.

How was the initial setup?

Workato’s initial setup is very easy.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment with Workato.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Workato is an expensive solution.

What other advice do I have?

Workato is deployed on-cloud in our organization. They've also got an on-premises connector, but primarily it's on-cloud. It's a SaaS application.

If budget is not a constraint, I'd definitely recommend Workato because of its ease of use and the time it takes to get started and see an outcome. The solution has helped our customers see an outcome in less than two weeks. The solution's cost is on the higher side, but if budget is not a constraint, then you can choose Workato.

Workato is a pretty solid platform. The solution's ease of use and the ability to deliver results make it very intuitive to define complex transformations.

Overall, I rate Workato a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Workato helps me achieve my integration roadmap

  • June 21, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Workato has integration connectors available for the most popular apps. Creating a workflow is extremely simple, and their live support team is extremely helpful. The bi-monthly conversations I have with the dedicated Customer success manager are very helpful too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The live support team takes a lottttt of time to reply. While they are highly knowledgeable and help fix any issue, i have to wait a lot t get their reply. This is a nightmare because it keeps me continuously distracted from my regular work that day.
Also, I think there are still some popular apps that can have a ready-to-use connector but they aren't there yet and we have to custom build it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Introduce integrations in my product

What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workato is allowing us to pass data to and from different saas providers and keep saas systems in sync with each other.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very elegant, and the post-sale training and onboarding is first class.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is certainly lots of complexity in integrations in general, and there is probably scope to improve any product - but for now we are very happy...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a vendor with multinational clients who all have their own nuances for integration - Workato allows us to scale and massively reduce the time taken in each individual integration project.

As someone who frequently works with complex workflows, Workato has been an absolute game changer in terms of automating processes and increasing efficiency. What do you dislike about the product?
While I have had an overwhelmingly positive experience using Workato, there are a few things that I dislike:

Steep learning curve: While the user interface is user-friendly, it does take some time to get familiar with Workato's more advanced features.

Limited customization options: Although Workato offers a great deal of flexibility, some users may find that certain workflows require more customization than what is currently available.

Overall, I highly recommend Workato to anyone looking to automate their workflows and streamline their processes. Its powerful capabilities, user-friendly interface, and responsive support make it a valuable asset for any business.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

By automating these processes, Workato is freeing up my time and allowing me to focus on more important tasks. Here are a few specific benefits that Workato has provided me:

Increased efficiency: With Workato's automation capabilities, I can set up workflows that automatically move data between different systems, reducing the amount of time I spend on manual data entry and transfer. This has helped me to complete tasks faster and more accurately.

Better collaboration: Workato allows me to set up workflows that streamline team processes and ensure that everyone is on the same page. By automating tasks like tracking project progress and assigning tasks, Workato has helped to reduce miscommunications and errors.

Improved data accuracy: Workato's automation capabilities ensure that data is transferred accurately between different systems, reducing the risk of human error. This has helped me to trust the data I'm working with more, which is crucial when making important decisions.
