Helpful tool to stay organized!

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The organization capabilities are great and the ease of linking between boards makes our lives significantly easier. They frequently set meetings to go through new features, how to optimize, etc. to ensure the customer knows how to use the platform to the best of it's ability.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the linking is a great feature, it takes some work to get through the process. It can also be a bit clunky when working with a large number of groups and items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us, we use it for event and product management to keep track of deliverables and ensure we're completing every task necessary for a project. In addition, we use Monday for time tracking companywide.

The best workflow management platform around!

What do you like best about the product?
Monday.com is a fantastic platform for optimising any workflow. I've used it for about 5-6 years now and it has saved so much time and taken care of a lot of the manual admin processes. The automation are really flexible, and the ability to capture new requests via their forms, or directly by forwarding an email is such a timesaver. I'd highly recommend this to anyone managing a team or a large volume of work that needs processing. Their customer support is always really good and they don't take long to reply. Everyone I've met and worked with from Monday.com has been really helpful and great at what they do.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's usually a way to achieve anything in Monday.com, but it's not always in the most logical way. I've had to implement a number of hacks in order to make it work in a way that suits our workflow. There are a lot of excellent integrations but sometimes it feels like you have to pay for a plugin to achieve something that *should* be fairly straightforward to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Promoting collaboration across teams and slowly transitioning work requests from our inboxes and into one place.

A great project management tool

What do you like best about the product?
I use Monday on a daily basis to track my own work. Each item is a central point to track time, link to external files (for example in Google Drive), automated recurring tasks to perform.

The learning curve to start using Monday is fairly low. It's also possible to invite guests to view content or even collaborate.
What do you dislike about the product?
For quickly drafting or mapping out an idea for a board, I think Excel or Google Sheets are easier to start off. I would like a less mechanic way to doodle and sketch some ideas, in order to start a board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily track time spent and costs outsourced.

Great Front end and simple/easy to use features

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to navigate and how efficient it is at helping to organize projects for our department.
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be easier ways to move from board to board as well as share information from board to board. I dont have a lot of negative to say though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it not to document our agile scrum projects and the data from the story points is helping us to understand our developers concurrency better

Utterly Useless Fails to Deliver at Every Turn

What do you like best about the product?
That I am getting rid of it in September when the license runs out
What do you dislike about the product?
That I can't get rid of it sooner and that we paid money for this pile of utter sh1t
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management is awful, in that it does not work. For example dependencies in project timelines do not function correctly - they have to be set up after you have input all of the tasks and then manually calculated all the start end dates of each task and the subsequent tasks (which is kind of a major part of creating dependencis so you can calculate the critical path). You can't do that with Monday. If you don't input all the data in the correct way that Monday wants you to do that - which is not in line with any conventional project management methods. The Dependecies will not work for any tasks even if you have only entered one task differently from the way Monday wants you to do it.

MS Project for example enables you to enter a succession of tasks, then link the dependencies, attribute a duration for each dependency and set the start date of the first task. It then calculates the critical path for you taking into account working days weekends manually entered holidays and public holidays.

Monday cannot do this.

Furthermore, Monday cannot cope with holidays, you can only set the working days in the week (which annoyingly it defaults to Sunday being the first day of the working week). You cannot highlight that a certain day in the year is a public holiday, you can't even manually block it out in a project plan. You have to set a work around so that any tasks falling over that day you manually add in an additional work day to allow for it. However should the timeline prior to that date shift - and you have managed to set up the dependencies according to Monday's strange way of working - you then have to find the tasks/subtasks that now stretch over the public holidays and not only manually add in extra working days to 'hack' Monday's inability to allow for a public holiday, you also have to go and find the previous tasks that now no longer fall over the public holiday and readjust them.

Really frustrating when you have one public holiday in your project time line, now imagine how much fun that is for a project that stretches over several public holidays.

Not only can Monday not cope with public holidays it's utterly screwed should anyone in the project team have the audacity to take a holiday or be ill and not able to work.

This is but two critical pieces of project management that Monday cannot cope with there are at least another 7-8 issues that we have encountered with it's mangled setup. In essence Monday is great if you want to create a chart with coloured squares on it, in a web interface. But it's project management capabilities are on par with colouring squares in Excel, except working in that manner you can at least block out a column that is a public holiday.

Then it comes to support... this is non existent, unless you're happy with a useless millenial sending you 👋🏻 😁 and 👍🏻 emojies and nothing else (which to be quite frank simply results in a 🤦🏻‍♂️ 🤯 and 🖕🏻).
