Data Analyst's review on Monday.com
What do you like best about the product?
From a data-driven perspective, Monday.com shines in several key areas, particularly in how it empowers non-technical users to create, manage, and analyze workflows efficiently.
1. No Coding Required - Democratizing Workflow Creation-
One of Monday.com's strongest advantages is that it requires no prior technical or coding knowledge to get started. Users can build automated workflows, set up custom columns, create dynamic dashboards, and integrate with other tools - all through an intuitive, drag-and-drop interface. This significantly lowers the barrier to entry for teams that may not have technical resources, enabling marketing, HR, finance, and operations teams to create powerful data-centric workflows without relying on IT or developers.
2. Smooth, Interruption-Free Workflows Through Smart Column Mapping-
At the heart of Monday.com’s data management lies its column-based architecture. Once users properly map all the necessary columns whether for status, priority, ownership, due dates, or custom formulas and the workflow becomes seamless. Each task moves predictably from one stage to the next, and automations can trigger actions (like sending reminders or moving items) based on changes in data.
3. User-Friendly Interface and Accessibility-
Monday.com has invested heavily in UX/UI, and it shows. The interface is clean, colorful, and highly visual, which makes it easier for users to scan large datasets quickly and stay organized. Whether you're managing dozens or thousands of tasks, filters, views (Kanban, Gantt, Timeline, Table), and search functions make it easy to access relevant data fast.
Additionally, it is cloud-based and accessible across devices, so real-time access to data is never a problem.
4. Live Dashboards for Real-Time Insights and Analysis-
From a data analytics point of view, Monday.com's live dashboards are a major asset. These dashboards allow users to visualize data in real-time by tracking KPIs, progress metrics, workload distribution, and even custom formula-based indicators. Since the data is updated automatically as team members make changes, decision-makers have an up-to-date view of operations without needing to manually refresh or export data.
This also supports better forecasting and proactive problem-solving, as trends and bottlenecks can be spotted early.
5. Cost-Effective, Especially for Growing Teams-
When comparing feature-to-price ratios, Monday.com proves to be cost-effective, particularly for small to mid-sized teams. Its tiered pricing model lets you scale up as your data needs increase. Considering it includes project tracking, team collaboration, dashboard reporting, and automation in one platform, it reduces the need for multiple disconnected tools, thereby lowering overall operational costs.
6. Integration with Third-Party Data Sources-
Monday.com also integrates with a wide variety of tools like Google Sheets, Zapier, Excel, Slack, Zoom, Dropbox, and CRM systems. From a data management standpoint, these integrations allow you to import/export data and sync platforms, ensuring your Monday.com board becomes a centralized data hub for team operations.
7. Automation and Formula Columns for Advanced Data Handling-
For power users, Monday.com includes formula columns, which allow for spreadsheet-like functions (e.g., calculating time between dates, status-dependent metrics, etc.). Combined with automations (e.g., "If Status is X, then notify Y"), it enables a high degree of data intelligence and operational efficiency, without needing any programming.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Monday.com offers a visually rich, user-friendly, and no-code environment for managing projects and workflows, it is not without its limitations. For teams and organizations relying heavily on data scale, performance, and advanced analytics, there are a few notable drawbacks:
1. Performance Lag at Scale-
One of the most significant issues from a data perspective is that Monday.com begins to lag when handling large volumes of data. Once your boards accumulate thousands of rows and dozens of columns, the platform's responsiveness drops noticeably. Loading times increase, filtering becomes sluggish, and even minor changes like updating a status column or moving an item can feel delayed.
This performance degradation is particularly frustrating for:
- Enterprise-level users dealing with high data throughput
- Operations teams needing real-time updates without delay
- Cross-functional teams using shared boards with high-frequency edits
While Monday.com is great for small to mid-sized datasets, it starts to feel less reliable as a central data hub when the complexity and size of boards increase. This limits its effectiveness for analytics-heavy use cases or for businesses with rapidly growing data operations.

Such a great platform
What do you like best about the product?
Monday allows our team to stay organized with our projects and ongoing programs. Setting up a project is very easy and takes little time, which we all love. Each project created allows for multiple departments to stay on top of all elements in the project so nothing gets overlooked or delayed. The ability to keep all details in one location makes time management so easy. Every extra minute is precious with our heavy work loads. Highly recommend using Monday if you want to have a seamless experience with projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot think of a dislike when using Monday.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The number one benefit for me is having all details in one location and assigning tasks to individual team members. This holds us all accountable for the tasks assigned within a project.
Nothing short of Amazing

monday.com is the perfect tool for project management
What do you like best about the product?
I'm an in-house graphic designer and use monday.com to manage my list of priorities. With loads of different projects on the go for different teams, audiences and purposes, there's always a lot happening – and monday helps me keep it all under control.
What I like most is how easily it fits around how I actually work. I’ve set up automations so that when I tick something off – like marking a task as 'ready for review' or 'done' – it pings the person who submitted it. No chasing, no guessing where things are at.
I also use the time tracking feature all the time. It's a handy way to see where my time’s going, especially across different types of design work. It's also great when I need to show how much time a project took, or spot patterns in the kind of requests that come in.
Plus, being able to invite external collaborators is great. If I’m working on a video with our videographer, I can add them to the board, share timelines, briefs and feedback – and keep everything in one place. No endless email chains or digging through Slack.
The timeline and calendar views are really helpful too, especially when I’ve got overlapping deadlines. I can zoom out and see what’s coming up, which helps with planning and making sure nothing gets lost.
Overall, monday just makes it so much easier to keep everything moving – especially as a solo designer. It saves me a ton of admin and gives everyone visibility, which means I can focus on the creative and strategic side of things.

What do you dislike about the product?
There’s not a lot I actively dislike, but a few things can feel a bit overwhelming — especially with our whole organisation using monday.
Even though we’ve got folders, clear naming conventions and pretty good structure, it still ends up feeling a bit chaotic at times. With so many boards flying around and notifications coming through from other team members, it can be hard to focus just on what I need to see.
There’s a ‘My Work’ section that pulls together everything I’ve been assigned to, but I actually find that quite overwhelming too — especially when you're working across a lot of different projects on different boards with lots of moving parts. Despite monday being quite visual and customisable overall, this lacks visual clarity somewhat.
Maybe this already exists and I just haven’t found it yet, but I’d love a more visual dashboard that breaks things down by project or team – something that helps me focus and prioritise without getting lost in the noise.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest thing monday solves for me is having my workload and tasks all in one place.
As a solo designer working across loads of different projects and teams, it’s easy for things to get scattered or slip through the cracks — but having a single board where I can track everything makes a huge difference. I can plan out my week, see what’s coming up, and keep tabs on deadlines and timelines without needing to jump between different tools or threads.
It also means I can spot potential clashes early, manage expectations, and make sure I’m not overloaded — which is especially helpful when priorities shift (as they often do).
I’ve set it up so each task has the right level of detail – who's requested it, what it’s for, when it’s needed by etc – so I’m not having to dig through emails or Slack to find context.
Having that central hub has made me way more organised, and gives me more headspace to focus on the creative work rather than firefighting.

THE BEST
What do you like best about the product?
I could not do my job without Monday.com. It is easy to use and I love that they make it fun with the colors, graphics and customization! The multifaceted uses are essential to keeping everything going. The automations are a life saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had even more onboard in person training. When you get to have a phone call (not chat or video) it is super helpful. I wish they had easier access to human phone calls since they are so good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration of larger and complex tasks with other coworkers.
Review about Monday
What do you like best about the product?
I find it really easy to track invoices using different boards.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find everything very useful so this does not apply.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization and helps to keep the entire team on track and make sure we are capturing all invoices.
Monday.com has given us a shared project view that our clients actually use and interact with.
What do you like best about the product?
We needed a solution to have a shared view of all ongoing, upcoming, and completed projects with our clients and Monday.com came to the rescue. We tried other tools before Monday.com and our clietns were always extremely slow at adopting them (if at all). Once we switched to Monday.com, our clients immediately started using it. We showed them how it could be customized and how they could download the mobile App to stay on top of project updates on the fly and they absolutely love it. We use Monday.com every day, all day. It is an important tool in our workflow now.
Many of our clients ended up asking us to do a demo so they could adopt Monday.com internally as well, which I think is a testament to the tool's versatility and ease of implementation.

What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure I have anything I dislike about Monday.com. I think I've only scratched the surface of what I can do with the tool, so if anything, I feel like I should put some more time into it to see other ways it could improve our workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Work Management is allowing us to have a shared dashboard of all our ongoing projects with each client. We have even set it up so that clients can request a project via their Client Portal on our website and it gets automatically added to their Project Board on Monday.com.
Powerful project and activity management - all in a common sense UI
What do you like best about the product?
It provides the capabilities needed to manage multiple layers of projects, tasks and other coordinated efforts seamlessly within a UI that is easy to use and makes frequent and common tasks as well as more complex ones easier to track and manage.
As a result, using it every day as part of your daily activities supports multiple aspects of your own work processes.
Whilst it is easy to implement, extensive features mean that you can use it as simply or as complex as you need or as your requirements and capabilities allow.
The collaboration aspects are powerful and intuitive, with control given to multiple aspects of notifications, permissions and much more, and with additional integration to platform such as Hubspot / other CRM it opens up further capabilities.

What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike. There are times that due to the mass of features you can get a little lost in finding exactly the right menu item.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralising resources, collaboration and tasks is a powerful benefit to me / us.
For your own needs a user is able to make use of features and abilities that will benefit their daily work, whilst wider, centralised and administration led boards and collaborations support wider needed processes.
