Great for small businesses or nonprofits
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the system is user friendly. It's easy to navigate without much training. I like the usage functionality within the contracts module. It saves me quite a bit of time. Intacct is great for small businesses or nonprofits who use only one currency and remain with the states. The functionality seems to handle really well for a one currency, one entity company. It's easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the length of time it takes to fix errors within the system. It can take months to fix revenue issues that impact closing and requires us to open books back months which creates a major risk factor. I do not like the fact that Intacct has issues regarding multi-currency, multi-entity companies. There are many issues regarding allocating funds across multi-currency, especially when trying to allocate bills.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to get Intacct to solve the issue regarding Multiple Element Arrangements and how the revenue is moved between the six buckets. Currently the system does not move the amounts as they should be. It only moves revenue from the lines that have an amount to bill. Once those are exhausted then it starts moving revenue from the lines without and amount to bill which is not correct. Having to determine what the true amount of deferred revenue is is very time consuming and frustrating.

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface. Different module setup and it's very easy to use and learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
The financial reporting writer module is not really intuitive and need more formula writing functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The financial reporting issue for multi-entity companies. I realize Intacct is very intuitive and highly customizable for users to build their own reports.

Need to have a fundational understanding of Intacct.
Review Sage Intacct
What do you like best about the product?
We can print signed checks , it enables us to work from anywhere. Its user friendly, after working on ERP software like SAP and Oracle, i find Sage Intacct easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Credit card is the function which needs to be updated in same lines with Bank, we can use bank to create inter co. payments and transactions automatically but the function doesn't work on credit card i.e, i can not use Credit card to make payment of different entity. Once we create charge offs in credit card, we cannot reconcile the credit card. We also cannot use JE to book any AP , even if we select vendor in JE, it doesn't impact any AP balances.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can see reports at the top level, it enables us to see the financials as a group. Approval function also benefits us to get the internal control over the transactions.

What do you like best about the product?
The reporting dashboard, consolidated financials, internal controls, partner relationships
What do you dislike about the product?
Since Intacct license was purchased through a third party, I am unable to contact Intacct representatives directly with questions. I am also not permitted to take classes to expand my knowledge base.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Intacct partners, I was able to automate a lot of manual processes.
Buggy and unintuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to create views on different pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrations are unreliable. We've had lots of problems with AmEx vendor payment service. Contracts module has bugs at least every other week, and is very unintuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primary reason for upgrade was to automate revenue recognition for a SaaS company. This part seems to work well once you work through bugs to enter the contract in the system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a complete demo to understand exactly what you're going to have to do for a variety of situations. When asking questions about capabilities of the system, don't just stop at a "Yes" answer. See how you have to make it happen. While you can make the system do certain more complex things (one example - billing to different entities within one contract), it's often done through a workaround, which isn't scalable.
Sage is easy to use, but can be a bit clunky
What do you like best about the product?
I like the multiple options Sage Intacct gives me in customizing views and reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the interface can be a bit more friendly. The dropdown menus, especially, can be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct helps me make organizational payments to many staff and vendors across the globe. It works!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a solid software that can handle payments. As an multinational nonprofit, we use it to make hundreds of payments everyday and it works all the time. Although it may not be the prettiest looking software around, it is still efficient and effective.
Extremely Powerful online Accounting
What do you like best about the product?
The reporting capabilities are phenomenal
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, when I run a report that is too large, it crashes and I have to log back in. Also, as you require more storage over the years, they charge more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an accounting solution that helps us in a multi company and location situation. We have 85 entities that we consolidate.
Great product - easy transition
What do you like best about the product?
I think using Sage Intacct has increased our productivity across the board as the software offer is user friendly and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The multi-entity set up does not work as clean as I would prefer. Our entities do not roll up and it is obviously set up for that and there does not seem to be a way to un-integrate that easily
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The report building capability is far greater than previous and this has made the close reporting process much smoother.
A robust system
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create dashboards for visibility across teams with real-time data. The built in data visualizations are great for people of varying financial literacy and enable metrics to be shown in a variety of ways. The various dimensions also enable us to pull a large variety of reports, reducing the need to export into Excel to work within the data to find trends.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not super easy to customize visualizations beyond what's built in - I would like to be able to change the colors and make the charts more tailored for our purposes. And while the capabilities are good, there are a fair number of steps involved in setting up reports , so you spend a while backtracking when creating custom charts and metric trackers. It would be nice to be able to create account groups, etc. in the financial report creator.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
keeping real time records and having a cloud-based system for the first time have been key in keeping us on track. It has a dimensional structure that was a big improvement from our previous system, Quickbooks, and better suited for a non-profit business as a result. It takes awhile to build the system during implementation, but you reap the rewards later if you're thoughtful about the beginning.

Consider the timing needed to implement it well before deciding.

What do you like best about the product?
Variety of automation to streamline processes. Great marketplace for value added apps. Reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Bulk update functionality limited or nonexistent on certain objects.

AR automation, Invoice automation. Custom reporting.
