What do you like best about the product?
The easy-to-read dashboards and the reporting capabilities are some of my favorite things about Intacct.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Intacct had integrated Payroll functionalities.

Reporting and dashboards leave a lot to be desired

What do you like best about the product?
We really like the ease of jumping from company to company (we have 20+) and the ability to attach PDFs for our bills and journal entries. We also like the ability to automate some of the reports to run automatically.

Attaching PDF copies of our bills has allowed us to become paperless and we're saving a lot of time filing papers and then going back and searching for invoices in large filing cabinets.

Another nice thing is that we're able to make updates at the top level and then all of our various companies (entities) are updated. Example- we can add an account number and it will show in all companies. You can also create reports at the top level and create different.

We also love the ability to create bills and cut checks from multiple companies at the same time. We previously had Peachtree and would have had to open each company and enter them separately and print separate checks. Most of our bills are entity level but the few that we have at the top level saves a ton of time.

The help features in Intacct were really helpful when we first started. My team had limited training and was able to get through our first month end within a reasonable amount of time for 22 sets of financials. They used the help feature a lot at first or when new types of transactions come up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, this is a long list and seems to be growing......

Our implementation didn't go nearly as well as hoped. The CPA firm that we worked with struggled with getting our information transferred to Intacct and wasn't able to fully understand our business model so they didn't set us up correctly. It got frustrating for us and things weren't getting done correctly/timely so I ended up doing most of the work. In the end it saved us a lot of money but at the same time was a lot more work.

We set up all of our general ledger accounts to have a department dimension for reporting. After converting all of our accounts over and using this for over a year, we found out we couldn't run reports with the account and department number showing in the same report. Seems simple but was told it would cost tens of thousands of dollars to create this one report for us. If we would have known this from the beginning we never would have added the department dimension as part of our structure.

Another issue we've come across is that the "dashboard" is far more basic than we had expected. We were told that if the information was in the system, we could create any report with graphs etc. that we wanted. We've struggled being able to create a dashboard that actually has graphs that meets our needs. The only solution that's been given to us is to have a third party add-on for this type of service. We haven't worked with any yet due to cost and the fact that we just spent a lot of money switching to Intacct but its likely in our future because of the limitations Intacct has with its reporting/dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better Reporting for operations- for us this was our main reason to switch to Intacct from Peachtree. This was what we were trying to solve for our properties but has not 100% been realized because of the lacking dashboard graphs available.

However, we did have a weekly operational report that was previously done in Excel that we now export directly from Intacct. This has save a lot of time and we don't have to worry about Excel formula issues.

We are currently also working on creating bill imports which should save a lot of time if we are able to get all 22 of our companies on board.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to have them prove out a certain report you're looking for before you assume they can do it. Even if they say they can, make sure they send you an example of it.

Have reduced the amount of manual work involved in time/expense reporting, invoicing and payroll

What do you like best about the product?
Accounting process - entries, month-end close, year-end close.
What do you dislike about the product?
No fixed asset system built in. We have to use an external fixed asset system, and enter the summary entries in Intacct. Fixed assets is pretty easy - Intacct should build it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Short month-end close. Timely and accurate reporting. Easy to report against budget and prior year.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The AICPA recommends it, that's one important reason we took a chance on it, and we have been 100% satisfied.

What do you like best about the product?
The product is very easy to get up and running with then there are plenty of ways to configure the product to meet growing business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the reporting tool to be easier to use. Really I just want to be able to access the raw data and create my own reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduced the staff needed to process invoices for recurring revenue. Improved cash collections with more accurate invoicing. We are now moving towards more detailed analytics based on custom and standard dimensions available withing the product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend the time (and maybe a little money) on the implementation to not box yourself into a corner for future growth. Take a look at all of the partners available in the Intacct Marketplace, many problems can be solved with integrated partners.

What do you like best about the product?
This g/l knows what an API is. Therefore, it can easily integrate into other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the cash receipts module was a little more flexible, in terms of setting up standard pages to input data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No more sneaker net with excel worksheets.

Start with the basics and build from there.
