What do you like best about the product?
Jamf makes imaging and deploying devices quick and efficient. The versatilaty of Jamf to customize it to our organization. We have not looked at any other competitors because we already had a Jamf instance.
What do you dislike about the product?
My lack of knowledge in all that Jamf can do. Jamf has a lot of capabilities that we have not tapped into yet. We are still learning about all it has to offer. Thank you
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deploying Macs quickly and efficiently. Jamf helps us be more productive with fewer people. We save a lot of time and clock hours utilizing Jamf. Our performance has increase.
When comparing several Mac Management solutions it stood out from the rest.
What do you like best about the product?
It was easy to use, and as a Windows SCCM user, I found it easy to pick up and get started with. We chose this solution because compared to Parallels or SCCM it was going to be much easier to manage. The Patch management feature is excellent - we like how we can see the versioning and deploy certain patches to certain people.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we find that processes fail on machines that are all the same. For example, in a lab situation where all the hardware/software versions are the same, 20 machines will work fine and 8 will fail. It is beyond frustrating to try and troubleshoot these situations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Initially, our Macs were spread all over, and we had no idea what was out there. All users were administrators of their computers. Jamf Pro allowed us to set up everyone as standard users and enable a process to request admin access, thus improving security. It also allowed us to create an inventory of the Macs on our network. It also allowed us to manage the Macs, which we never could do before.
JAMF Pro, a powerful tool that allows an organization to maintain a managed Apple environment.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to maintain a managed Apple endpoint environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that I wish that JAMF Pro would implement, but we will see what is new in this coming up JNUC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the moment, JAMF Pro is improving and upgrading the tool as some are not directly benefiting my organization I hope that this will provide my group with new ideas.
A powerful and easy to use management tool
What do you like best about the product?
The web console being a one-stop-shop to work on anything we need from anywhere now that we're in Cloud is fantastic. Touch-free deployment has been a game-changer that our users have absolutely loved.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were an option to create a custom privilege set which could be selected from the same dropdown as the default options of Admin/Auditor/Enrollment. The custom option is there but you have to manually select it each time. It would be great to not have to recreate those privileges each time we have a new AD group that needs access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Macs were previously unsecured and not tracked. Jamf is helping us ensure all of our devices meet our security requirements, reducing risk and making our GSO happy. Jamf has also helped to reduce the number of Macs that go "missing" by ensuring we have visibility to which devices we have and when they go out of service.
Great Product

Controlling what is available on iPhones for government policies.
Good MDM Solutions Product with Limitations
What do you like best about the product?
What is most helpful about Jamf Pro is the ability to manage a multitude of Apple products. We have over 2,200 different Apple products that range from iPads to iMacs and so on. With Jamf Pro I'm able to restart devices if needed, remote into laptops for remote troubleshooting and create custom pre-stage enrollments for different solutions. Another thing that I like about Jamf Pro is the UI experience, as a novice it allowed me to jump straight in and begin messing around with the tools and get an understanding of how Jamf Pro works. Not only that but Jamf Pro comes with different search options and group creations that specific filters such as MDM Profile Expiration or even Jailbroken items can be included as a filter. And these smart groups that have been created can be included as scoped items when distributing different software versions or different packages depending on demand. Also, the software support is really helpful when it comes to issues. They are quick to respond and when they don't have an immediate solution they reach out to their engineering teams and get the issue resolved within time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the downsides to Jamf, in general, is that names on devices tend to revert back to their default name even when the name has been set on already. An example of this is how we have around 1,700 iPads that students use and there have been times when the name has been set by MUT and the mobile device name reverts back to the serial number. Our naming convention of first name initial, full last name, and graduation year (i.e. JLopez2020) is helpful for teachers when combined with Jamf Teacher or Apple Classroom so they know what student it is but having to constantly go back and change the names through MUT is exhausting. Another issue with Jamf is that when the MDM profile expires and an iOS device was not able to renew the MDM profile, it stops communicating with Jamf overall. There is no workaround to get the device to reconnect to Jamf except by performing a factory restore and signing back into the device through the pre-stage enrollment. That solution is fine when it's a small office of around 50 people and you can easily have access to their iOS devices. But when 1,700+ students don't always have their iOS devices on or they don't use it as often or in general the device doesn't receive the renewal then it can be exhausting to have to erase multiple devices in order to get them to connect to Jamf again. When the MDM profile expires then Jamf Teacher stops working properly, Apple Classroom doesn't function properly either, and creating restrictions is very difficult as well. I'm hoping that a solution can be found soon for these two major points of headache please.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro helps solve the problem of overall device management. The fact that you can create custom pre-stage enrollments, create smart groups, create restrictions, distribute software to multiple devices, and much more while not slowing the device is amazing and a plus side.
Jamf Pro is a box of legos - build it out!
What do you like best about the product?
Zero-day support and the jamf community for support
What do you dislike about the product?
Hosts losing their trust and requiring re-enrollment physically
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of Apple devices in enterprise. Benefits me to have a solution to do so
Jamf Pro Changes Work Lives!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to manage all the Macs and Mobile devices across campus from one space.
What do you dislike about the product?
The differences between cloud and on-prem hosting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
iPad and app management. Program-specific setup and reset.
Jamf has been invaluable in managing our Apple Devices
What do you like best about the product?
In our organization, we use Jamf Cloud and I love that it's accessible no matter where I am. I'm not tied to my company network to be able to access the tools and resources I need. I like the ease of use and quick responses when sending commands to devices or trying to install software. It helps my company bring the Apple devices that we use under one management system and allows us to provide the software and workflows for all of our Apple users. I love that we can provide a portal of software to choose from using the Self Service portal and people can choose what software they need when they need it. I feel that our organization is better off being able to provide standard setups and software and Jamf is able to help us do that.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that with the licensing costs and setup, Jamf may be cost prohibitive for some smaller companies. I am under the impression that Jamf is more effective when managing larger numbers of devices and some companies may not be able to use it because of cost considerations. I personally haven't used other competitors, so I can't speak to the comparisons between Jamf Pro and other MDM's, but Jamf might not be a good fit for everyone depending on the organization.
Specifically with Jamf Pro features, it lacks the ability to schedule actions as far as I can tell. There are ways to schedule policy updates and installation settings, but I'd like the ability to select a certain task such as upgrading iPadOS and have the ability to schedule when the action takes place.

Our organization had hundreds of Apple devices that had no management backend at all. Users were free to set up and use their devices at will and there was no management whatsoever. The biggest issue we had was with setups and rollouts of devices and also with large numbers of devices that would need to be set up. Last year, I was in charge of setting up about 100 iPads to run a specific app. Luckily, I was able to utilize Jamf Pro to configure the iPads and push the configuration profile to each one without having to manually set them up one by one. Jamf Pro saved me hours of time.
