A Lot of Features
What do you like best about the product?
Smart Group, Configurations & Simple pkg installations are seamless and simple to set up
What do you dislike about the product?
at times some commands require sudo jamf update
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
updating and installing pkgs to 300+ macs reduces time to connect and interact remotely in a session, especially in these times
Recommendations to others considering the product:
do an evaluation and pre-training before implementation
Solid MDM, with wide range of customization
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can utilize as many or as few features as we need. We do not have to over-complicate our setup, yet we can access everything we need. The technical support is great, it is very reassuring to know that they will work as hard as you will to resolve an issue. They also have a great customer advocacy program that lets you feel a part of the community even more through support, discussion and sometimes just bonding.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how easily I have been able to find a bug that has us dead in the water that needs to be escalated up to senior developers... We aren't doing anything too complicated, yet I seem to manage it once every year and a half (which is more than desirable).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Jamf to do our 1-to-1 iPad deployment at school. It has allowed us to push apps to student devices and pull away the app store. I also do like that while issues are rare for us, they are rarely across the platform, usually, just us, usually huge (not simple things that should have been caught/foreseen), and are rare enough that I still feel really good about the product. We have been able to reduce our tech team from four people (two full-time, two part-time) to just two full-time people because even handling a rollover of devices, one grade at a time it only took two days with a lot of breaks. If needed I could do it all in a few hours if I thought the wifi in the old wing could handle it. Additionally, I have learned so much about managing devices just by playing around in our Jamf instance. Additionally, as Covid has impacted us all, we were able to go to "as needed" remote learning with the ability to push apps out to students as needed while they were home when we had to sequester a grade or class (we were able to stay mostly on prem the whole time).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pay the little bit extra and go to Cloud hosted - BEFORE you need it due to a global pandemic. It is a lot harder to do during. Besides, just imagine never having to update your MDM again, it just does it for you! I love not having to go to the server and downloading things... it was dark in there. Jamf Pro allowed us to reduce our tech team from 4 to 2 people (and just between us, I'm the only one who manages the Jamf and Jamf devices and sleep just fine).
Very Useful and powerful.
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro support is amazing, they are there when there is just a small question. Jamf Pro enable two technicians to manage thousands of mobile devices. We are able to protect our students easily with configuration profiles, as well as send them easily to websites or surveys. All from one are. Jamf also makes deployment easy, it empowers our end users with the ability to wipe their group of iPads and set them up all hands off for our department.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes running reports that my supervisor asks for is quiet difficult and we must often think outside of the box on how to get the information and then strip away what isn't needed from the csv file.
Otherwise Jamf is a great tool.
Otherwise Jamf is a great tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are many problems we have used Jamf to solve. Managing a lot of mobile devices. Sending apps to those devices. Especially now during Covid when we cannot touch iPads, Jamf has proven to be an invaluable tool. We are able to send apps, update apps, profiles, change names, see students apps, profiles, battery levels.
Satisfied Jamf Pro User
What do you like best about the product?
Zero touch enrollment is most helpful. I like the ability to let users enroll their own devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not want to move to Jamf cloud. I hope that we can maintain an on-prem setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing macOS and iOS applications, updates, and preferences.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
The Support, Jamf is a great MDM solution but the part that sets it apart for me is the support/
What do you dislike about the product?
Updating, some times the updates can be a little hard to swollow sometimes, rather it is a over site or some times in the code updates can sometimes make a working solution not work. Its rare but has happen to us all
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DEP, with the school doing remote classes the DEp and the touches deployment is been a life saver
Easy to use for new IT professionals!
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
As someone new in IT, I haven't found something I dislike so far just a lot of features to discover!

Jamf Pro Makes Deploying and Managing iPads a Piece of Cake
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to remotely manage iPad is such a game changer. I can help students learning remotely solve issues without ever seeing the student. With an email or two I can solve so many issues.
I was able to use zero touch for the first time this year and I am in love with it. I had heard great things about it before but zero touch is absolutely the best thing that has happened to deploying iPad. The time I saved with zero touch blew my mind. I cannot wait to use zero touch again!

What do you dislike about the product?
I would love a few more features such as an easier way to use student images for Apple Classroom. I would also like to see a feature like Deep Freeze made available through Jamf Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving end user problems remotely. We pushed out a web clip through our profile to our Student Tech help website. We gave students a way to help themselves since they are learning remote. I am saving my time during the summer with zero touch. It gave me so much time to work on other things.
Jamf consolidates the growing needs of a Mac environment into into their management programs.
What do you like best about the product?
- Remote support for all Apple devices
- Ability to secure MacOS and iOS devices
- Amazing support if issues arise

What do you dislike about the product?
We have only been using the application for the last year, so it has been an overall great product. We haven't had any issues that couldn't be solved by their support team (most of our issues were my team not knowing how to complete a task).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team has been able to revolutionize our setups and support for Apple devices. Through the use of this management software, my team is excited to see what all Jamf has to offer in order to streamline our overall support to our Apple staff and faculty members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to cut down on the time spent preparing/supporting an Apple product in your current fleet, then I'd highly consider Jamf as an option. Our setup time has decreased easy by 50% and our time spent supporting users has dropped because of how Jamf allows my team to provide tools to troubleshoot themselves.
Zero touch mac environment management
What do you like best about the product?
Manage mass number of apple products (Macs, iPad, iPhone) from one single point. It was amazing to deploy security patches, application packages, restrict device features, etc. from one single point. Helps a lot to control device inventory and determine device life.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still learning the software. A lot to learn and implement. It's too early for me to mention any disliking point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inventory control, package distribution, epo update, OS x update, apps update, restrict device features, etc. Centralized management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend mac admins to try Jamf Pro.
