Jamf Pro has been pretty great

  • October 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Support has been wonderful about helping us diagnose any issues we have and get us a quick workaround or solution and have us back up and running very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price tag is pretty high, especially in the K12 edu space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a stable reliable MDM and support team has been a must after we went 1:1. We originally started out with Apple Server/Profile Manager and after repeat issues with it, we swapped to Jamf Pro and haven't looked back.

JAMF Pro JNUC 2020

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of management with the Management Commands.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the pushing out applications to iPads are delayed and occasionally require a device restart. The ability to search multiple devices under the search at one time should be an option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to manage applications that students are able to use is most beneficial.

JAMF Review: The Gold Standard in MDM Solutions

  • October 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of JAMF's standout features is its robust integration capabilities. Whether you're syncing with Active Directory or leveraging Apple's Volume Purchase Program, JAMF makes the process smooth
What do you dislike about the product?
Support is making a comeback, in the past JAMF was growing and support could be some what lacking. They have seemingly addressed this issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security is paramount in today's digital landscape, and JAMF does not disappoint. From ensuring device compliance to enforcing security policies, JAMF gives IT administrators peace of mind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your research and you will find this is the MDM to rule all others!

Full of feature, but price is high.

What do you like best about the product?
Allows me to push out policies and profiles at any time, before using Jamf, we pushed a "Golden Image" using Deploy Studio, and what the labs got with the image was locked in.
What do you dislike about the product?
Repackaging applications and deploying printers. I have yet to successfully deploy printers for our HP printers because I can never find drivers. I can deploy the printer but students then have to install the driver and they dont have admin rights. Support has tried to help, but Im still having issues. Cost also seems high, and the more Macs\iPads we get the harder the price hits our small district.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Refreshing Labs is simple with Jamf, as well as pushing restrictions and wireless settings. Building lab images used to be a major burden for our techs, taking time and they weren't very comfortable with MacOS. Now we simply push a policy, and they are wiped and get the software we assign to them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is fully of features and if you put enough time and resources toward it, it can improve your management of apple devices.

What do you like best about the product?
Interface and ease of use and the ability to manage user's very easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting and Patching.
Why is it when i access a webpage in JAMF ( Ex: Policies) that after accessing information i need when i hit the back arrow it always returns to page 1 of the database and does-not leave it where i left off in policies category. THIS DRIVES ME OUT OF MIND...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing the entire fleet of mac's at Experian.

Benefits are ease of use and the ability to learn the management system much quicker than others...

JAMF Pro - Beyond ARD

  • October 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the remote management of Apple services, functions, and apps. I used to do a lot of JAMF's features through Apple Remote Desktop, some of which I had to be extremely creative about. The fact that JAMF operates over the Internet goes beyond ARD's LAN limitation.
What do you dislike about the product?
My dislike is the screen sharing features can't function when devices are on different networks than I am, due to most default firewall settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems have been with the users not keeping their devices awake long enough for managed device communication to complete. Policies will fail sometimes due to loss of network connectivity and I find out that the policy started just as they were sleeping/shutting down the device. I have not had the chance to see the recent JAMF update for policy failure retry in action.

What do you like best about the product?
Cloud hosted Jamf Pro works great from anywhere. Manages our Macs and iPads well. They also have great support people that want to help you succeed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is pretty high, but it works well. I just wish it was cheaper for schools or at least smaller districts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefit is that we can manage all of our Macbook Air and iPads well and all in one place.

Jamf makes provisioning so much easier!

  • October 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can pull a Mac Book out of the box, turn it on, and wait. All the tools we need are downloaded to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
When it breaks, it's never real easy to figure out why, but Support is great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are not a Mac shop and don't have anyone really strong in support. Jamf makes it easy to configure the machines for deployment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get the implementation assistance. Go to the training. LEARN and participate in the implementation. Be aware and take notes.

Modern and reliable product

  • September 30, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to manage apple products. Because of Pre Staging we saved a lot of time when setting up macs.

We got on board by having two Kickstart days with a great Jamf employee who helped us to set the basics up so we can start using it as soon as possible. With that we managed to roll out our first macs to employees within a few weeks.

Jamf is also listening to feedback from the community and implements new features on a regular basis. Updates are also done automatically when using their cloud offering which is great.

We are close to on-boarding every employee of the company and feedback so far has been great! Especially the Self Service App was praised a lot since employees can install packaged software and get useful links to important company tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web interface is sometimes a bit confusing and the Admin Tools look dated. But that is something i can get used to and the Admin Tools will probably be updated for the Big Sur release.

Sometimes Pre Staging can be a bit buggy with some mac models.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up systems. Sending macbooks directly to employees without having to ever see / touch them. Really useful for a Home Office environment.
