What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of reporting, whether for an individual device or groups of devices. Reporting on hardware or software, it doesn't matter. I've recently delved into extended reporting capabilities with extension attributes. This has been a game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance issues. We have a large environment and experience session timeouts, as well as working in one screen and having it send us back "home", e.g. creating a policy. Our current production version as of this review is 10.22.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing visibility into our macOS and iOS environment. We are now beginning to focus on zero-touch deployments. Jamf has made this possible, and not just for the technically aficionados.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of MDM providers out there, and I feel a lot of them probably provide the technical tools for success.

However, they may not provide the the same level customer support.

Jamf's customer success agents are available, intelligent, and willing to tackle any issue you put in front of them. This provides a level of comfort that may not be found elsewhere. I believe they are putting the necessary resources in their people to enable their clients to do more.

One other thing. There is a large online community of helpful, insightful people working through the same issues as you, and willing to share their solutions.

Best tool in your toolbox

What do you like best about the product?
Has helped us automate many of the repetitive tasks to allow our technicians more time to work directly on other matters.
What do you dislike about the product?
Steep learning curve, but completely worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowed us to centralize our workload so that certain tasks aren't being done over and over repeatedly by different people in different areas.

JAMF Pro is the best-of-breed Mac and iOS management software

What do you like best about the product?
The tight integration with new OS releases. The support is very very good— prompt and knowledgable and tenacious about chasing down answers to unusual problems and edge cases. I've used Jamf's support team many times and have always had positive, helpful, and competent support from them. The support team at Jamf is the most valuable part of the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s pricy, but it’s still far less than the cost of another employee at my workplace. JAMF is my other employee and it works harder than I do, which is how it should be. Sometimes there are long-standing bugs in the code that go unresolved for many months, or even years, at a time. I like that Jamf asks for feature requests, but then sometimes I feel like the requests go unanswered or unfilled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeps my fleet healthy and productive. EA’s allow me to collect amazing info on the state of my fleet and then I can use the flexibility of JAMF Pro to engineer solutions that for my environment. I've recently started to use the MDM functionality of Jamf Pro more, including configuration profiles, PPPC profiles, and features like Webclips. I've also started managing AppleTVs with my JSS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at the other vendors (Fleetsmith, Addigy, FileWave, etc.), but depending on your organization's needs, you may actually find yourself back with Jamf.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jamf allows me to manage Macs in 39 locations in 16 countries without the need for an extensive staff of technicians.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Jamf Pro to have more robust reporting features and the ability to create dashboards that can be shared with other teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to manage Macs in a diverse, multinational company with limited resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It may seem pricey, but if you should consider Jamf Cloud as your solution if you are going to implement Jamf. Removing the need to maintain infrastructure is worth the cost.

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF pro is easy to configure and use. It allows us to remotely manage our apple products and is very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most of the features that are limited in JAMF Pro are not limited by JAMF but rather by Apple.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to meet regulatory compliance with our security policies that we are easily able to deploy.

What do you like best about the product?
easy of use. overall great control of features and can adjust how tight we want to set security on iOS and macOS devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
just mac only. would love to see more support for devices that are not apple. currently we are supporting android within Intune and are considering
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are aiding the education of medical students with the use of jamf pro. we created configurations and policies to meet HIPAA requirements .

What do you like best about the product?
Automating initial setup with installing all the programs and joining to the domain
What do you dislike about the product?
During the initial boot, it does not always hit DEP, but I don't that is a JAMF issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mac computers went from taking a few hours of initial setup with installing all the programs, to taking a few minutes and letting it run.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the possibilities of automation that jamf provides. We constantly try to automate as many processes as we can to ensure that our end user experience is at it's peak across our district.
What do you dislike about the product?
All of the product issues that seem to be a burden on our district.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the issue of students downloading and running VPNs on their mobile devices. We've realized that we can automate a process that would require the student to remove the app in order to use their device fully again.

What do you like best about the product?
I love Jamf's day 0 support on new systems. There's never a concern when major changes are released.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes too long for feature requests to make it's way into jamf.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wouldn't be able to successfully manage thousands of Macs if we did not have it. The benefit is the management of Macs.
