It would be great if we had some sample apps available that would have guided us in the development process. The solution development lifecycle needs to be more structured
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are filling in gaps in our existing business processes using self developed apps and user interface forms. This is much more easier to use for end users and hence increases the adaptability for us.

Business success platform
What do you like best about the product?
That we can focus on the business problems and outcomes without having to worry about the technology that will server the solution. We are able to retrain resources quickly with out have to install and get heavy IDE's running. There's no language to learn and it only takes a basic understanding of logic and web development.
What do you dislike about the product?
That we sometimes have to develop work around to meet the requirements. The UI doesn't support custom Javascript very well and there are some bugs in the processing flows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logistics for our shipping and for our DC based returns, inventory controls, manufacturing floor management.
Amazing time to value, but do invest in a CoE as well

The multi-channel experience of mobile and web using pixel perfect UX and a robust offline mode makes OutSystems a clear winner for our IT department to address a long backlog of business requests that couldn't otherwise get of the ground.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am hoping for a better citizen developer design/build experience, so there is an onramp for them to begin working with OutSystems and grow their skills. The citizen developer demand for a tool is very real, and I'd like to cater to it in a controlled manner to allow even more value to be gained from this platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OutSystems is addressing a gap we had in delivering digital solutions to our 5000 field operations staff. It is also an alternative to resorting to high code traditional application development practices that is becoming increasingly hard to be effective at and meet current UX expectations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Set up a Center of Expertise to foster and govern adoption, by providing best practices, architecture & value reviews, and build out a community of practice.
Excellent low code platform

It's very easy to code and get started with OS even with little or no prior programming experience
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's hard to pin down a problem since you can't read the code, you always have to click on the icon
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and scheduling of large projects with lots of tasks. Visibility to project status to the whole team, other departments.
Quick to learn, Fast time to market
What do you like best about the product?
The non-technical entry level required to create working solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
Not having a licensing model that adapts for applications with potential market of millions, where you pay for usage, traffic, transaction or concurrent sessions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving obsolescence issues by migration MS Access applications to outsystems. Also stopping Shadow IT by providing my citizen developers with a tool that out-of-the-box provides security, centralized repository, contingency, etc.
