My experience with Thoropass
What do you like best about the product?
Relationship - helping us through the process, especially with us being a new start-up business
Customer support - immediately answering any questions we may have and frequent check-ins

What do you dislike about the product?
Getting access to the portal for some people, especially those who are non-tech savvy, requiring them to use an authenticator which they are not familiar with.
Security Awareness training wasn't appealing nor interactive. Didn't feel it was beneficial as anyone can just speedily go through the slides without reading anything.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work as a 3rd party with organizations that require us to ensure we are in compliance with their security requirements. Also as a start up, we needed to be able to make sure all security controls are developed and in place.
Great Support. Mediocre UI/UX
What do you like best about the product?
There overall customer support and account management has been great. The team has always been helpful with questions and they provide answers quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user experience of the Thoropass application could be designed better. It's lacking some features. It shows Tasks, but has no way to easily view past tasks completed and manage recurring tasks. It's more of a hack that our AM showed us. So trying to keep track of what tasks are due next month, next quarter, etc is difficult. It could be easily resolved with a Calendar and simple recurring task management.
The initial sales process was rough. We were very close to ending conversations with our sales rep. Looking back at it, I think the sales rep just didn't have great industry experience and may have been green. The sales rep's responses just came off as very shady and misleading. We couldn't get a straight answer on cost. Eventually, we had it escalated to some one in management who was able to articulate the cost of the platform.

Thoropass allows us to adopt the compliance we need, quickly, to service our customers.
Excellent Audit Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Smooth integration with my cloud provider, great follow-ups with my account manager and the in-house auditors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI needs improvements, feels outdated and has minor user experience details to work on.

I appreciate the check-ins with our reps to help answer questions and focus on priorities.

There has been a lot of transitioning of reps we have worked with along the way, but it is somewhat to be expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping guide us through the process of SOC audit compliance. We started with almost no understanding of needed controls, and through Thoropass's platform and team members we have been able to take our time and develop our systems and processes.

The platform is pretty easy to use and has every feature we need to keep track of our SOC 2 compliance. The team has been very supportive for the whole process.

Platform has had some bugs in the past, but they seem to have been resolved since.

It simplifies the process for our SOC 2 compliance and audits. The audit is pretty complex so their platform has been useful in simplifying the process.
One Compliance System to rule them all - Thoropass
What do you like best about the product?
Thoropass provided a unified platform for complaince completion, tracking and audit. The platform is simple to use and has good integrations with exisiting cloud vendors to help complete the task using a gamified approach to complete the certifications. I really liked their customer support and how Val helped us in closing the tasks on the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Thoropass can improve on number of provided integrations and support, for example we also host some OSS instead of their managed cloud services and wanted to integrate that to Thoropass, which was missing but still was in product roadmap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thoropass helped us complete Soc 2 Type 1 compliance requirements.

What do you like best about the product?
Really everything. It's been a great experience beginning with the sales cycle. The team spent time to understand our drivers and timelines for achieving SOC 2 Type 2 and developed a plan to get us there. Having everything (compliance platform, pen test and auditors) from the same company was a big plus, and it has made the process much smoother. The project team was engaged and diligent and moving us through the process. We highly recommend working with Thoropass.

Again, not much. The transition of data from the platform to the auditors was a bit clunky, but not overly burdensome.

What do you like best about the product?
Thoropass makes it easy to manage our compliance posture. The tool has improved significantly over the past few years, and the integrations have been particularly valuable in streamlining our audit processes and saving time. The audits are well-prepared and straightforward to complete, making the entire process much less cumbersome than traditional approaches.
What do you dislike about the product?
Thoropass has added many new features over the past two years. Due to our busy schedules and existing workflows, we haven't had time to adopt these new tools. We're already set in our current ways of working, which makes it hard to transition to the new features.

It helps us manage security controls year-round, tracking implementation and collecting evidence continuously rather than scrambling during audit season.

Slower start, great finish!
What do you like best about the product?
The guidance and actions on the controls make implementing new controls manageable in bite-sized pieces. Compliance in the past has been a sea of paperwork, making it seem impossible to navigate or finish. Thoropass breaks down the controls so you can make progress in one area at a time.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first the project management tools were not very good. We actually created a parallel task environment in our JIRA environment so we could divide and track the work. We provided the feedback to Thoropass and now there are some better project management tools for when you first get going.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to SOC II badly for years. We had more resources attempting to get it done but couldn't really get over the hurdle. We lost some of those resources and someone suggested Thoropass as a solution. Truthfully, we let it sit for a little bit before we got serious about getting it done. We have SOC II Type 2 now and couldn't be happier. This is making closing enterprise deals much easier in our market and we feel that we are able to maintain audit readiness and the controls we have implemented with much less resources than we were previously allocating to try and manage it.
