Got us fast to SOC 2 Compliance
What do you like best about the product?
Going through our compliance for SOC 2 was much easier than we thought. Laika provided all the steps and templates we needed to set us up. Our compliance architect (Hey Amalia!) and our Customer Success Manager (Hey Paige!) were both instrumental and critical in our success.
Ultimately, we went through the readiness and audit for Type 1 in around two months.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish more could be done in Laika. In the end, many processes that I wish could be in Laika (incident report, security-related ticketing, access change requests, etc.) end up being hacked around either through whatever developer project management tools we already have or with emails and Google form.
This would make evidence collection much more manageable and the whole experience complete.

First in class SOC 2 Compliance Service
What do you like best about the product?
Laika is an easy to use tool that helps track and manage the SOC 2 process. Our team went through Type 1 and Type 2 audits, which were managed closely and well by our customer success team. We worked with Michael who went above and beyond for our team over a matter of years.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the tools were being released when we were starting our initial audit so it got better as time went on. The only feedback I have is to support more automated integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika walked us through the SOC 2 types 1 and 2 process and helped us become compliant. They also gave us tools to help manage our compliance throughout the compliance period and beyond.
Fantastic Product and Service
What do you like best about the product?
I do not typically take the time to compose reviews, but when asked if I would write an honest review for Laika, I was most happy to.
We have worked with Laika for about a year now and through one full audit period. As a company working with financial institutions and with many compliance requirements I can honestly say that the platform makes management of not only the audit process, but management of policies, responses to diligence questionnaires, employee trainings, and compliance activities easy to manage and track. They also perform pentests as part of their service offering. I have found all of these tools intuitive and user-friendly. Their broad offering also allowed us to collapse a few vendor services into their single service [location] and save money overall.
From a service perspective, Laika is similarly fantastic. I generally find with vendors that the sales pipeline is strong, and they fail when it comes to actually servicing their product. This is not the case with Laika. I meet almost weekly with our account manager to discuss needs, answer questions, handle technical issues (if any), and prepare for upcoming items. The audit and pentest teams are separate entities, but equally responsive and attentive. This ensures that everything stays on track and I am never left in the dark.
I would highly recommend Laika if any of the above services are of need to you. Their product is fantastic and their staff is highly available and helpful.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few improvements that can be made to those service offerings that may not have been part of their original "core" offering of audit and compliance. For example, the training portion makes it a little challenging to track where everyone is on their new hire and annual training and could use a better design. Another area that could use some improvement is the Integrations. While that may not be entirely an issue with the Laika platform, some integrations are clunky or will not connect at all -- though it should be said that this is the exception and not the rule.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not sure if my previous responses will be visible alongside this one, but to quickly reiterate, Laika allowed us to collapse several products we were leveraging other vendors for into one platform and add additional layers of compliance and audit control to our business. We can now centrally manage our audit activity, compliance, policy documentation (including employee acknowledgment), pentesting, employee training, and diligence questionnaire activity in one place.

What do you like best about the product?
There are a few Laika competitors, one of which we have used previously before switching. The idea is the same, but the execution is entirely different. Working with Laika is more than just a more streamlined way to get your SOC II - they help ensure security standards are set up in the most effective way possible. Not only do we have our certifications, but I feel our security program has matured!
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is still newer so there are some little bugs, but it's not a dealbreaker by any means.

Laika is turnkey, simple as that. Getting a sense for where our compliance gaps are so quickly and then following the roadmap in Laika eliminates any mystery on our end.
Having everything in one place is key since I manage SOC 2 and security assessments from customers. One great surprise was how easy it was to find our vendors' security docs. Laika pulls that information in automatically, which was a huge time saver. I didn't know about that feature until we were onboarding, but it is very helpful and deserves more promotion.

What do you dislike about the product?
A few integrations were tricky to configure at first. But Laika worked with us to set it up and already shipped a fix for some things we had trouble with.
One thing that's missing is definitely the ability to import data from files that we dump from other systems (CSVs, log, json, etc.). Some things just don't have APIs and others Laika doesn't have integrations for yet. It would be great to be able to export from those and import to Laika.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having built security products for years, I can say that tools for managing compliance are long overdue for an upgrade. We are a very technical team and most of us have deep security backgrounds. That being said, we don't know the compliance piece like we do the security stuff. Laika takes a lot of the lift and lets us spend our time on what we are best at, sparing us a lot of headaches.

The platform itself had growing pains during our engagement and early in the process inhibited our work. As we progressed, the platform achieved the stability needed and is an asset for the future. .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a solid baseline for growth and a repository for tracking. This will cut considerable time off of the process moving forward...
Platform needs more integrations & a bit clunky, but the team behind it is super supportive
What do you like best about the product?
Laika’s human component is the biggest value-add. Their team is knowledgeable and can dive deep into case and company-specific nuances for SOC2 compliance (and I imagine other certifications as well). They made themselves very available for our compliance team and were a huge help to getting our certification over the line.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest draw of a compliance program and audit management tool is automating evidence collection and submission to auditors. Laika's platform, despite some process improvements and their stellar support team, still lacks many integrations that would allow for a plug-and-go evidence submission process. Instead, the process is still fairly manual, with relatively incremental improvements on a non-automated evidence submission process.
The platform also still has some other features that still need to be built out (e.g. access rights review automating, bulk vendor management, MFA flagging, etc).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Achieving SOC2 Type 2 compliance, and building + maintaining a more robust data security & risk management program. Laika definitely is great at communicating ideal states for these programs, and providing guidance on how to build appropriate internal processes to meet the ideal states.
Easy to Get Started HIPAA Compliance Software
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Laika is how easy it is to get started on the platform. After having an introductory meeting with a member of the Laika team, I received an overview video to watch that helped explain the interface and gave me a good understanding of how to utilize the platform. Once on the platform, it became clear how easy and intuitive it was going to be to complete the compliance tasks. Features such as the simple, but effective roadmap overview and the assign task function made getting started with the platform and tracking progress a breeze. After that, it became as simple as completing the tasks and reaching out to the responsive Laika team if any questions arose.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, there aren't too many downsides to using the Laika platform for compliance documentation. In our specific scenario, it would have been nice to have templates that were a little more geared towards our company. As an early-stage startup, some of the templates didn't seem to be super applicable to us, so having a more robust template library that can be more easily altered to fit companies of all shapes and sizes would be a great feature to have. This is understandably difficult to do though, so it is doubtful that any other providers have done a significantly better job in this area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is helping us with our HIPAA compliance and documentation challenges. By working with Laika, our company is well-positioned to be fully compliant and prepared for market entrance.
Excellent and timely support throughout the process
What do you like best about the product?
Laika is always there to support questions that we have about the compliance process. Their response time is timely, and their breadth of knowledge is great. They go above and beyond when supporting us. Feels very white glove.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are elements of Laika's software that are not intuitive, and there are some features around role management in particular that I'd like to see. But their product team has been receptive, and the platform is constantly improving.

Laika is helping us achieve HIPAA compliance, which is a major requirement for our company. They have provided a hands on service to help us get audit ready, and their support has been greatly appreciated.

All of the support they provide. Someone is always there to answer your questions.

No real downsides at all. As they continue to grow, I'm sure they will improve their platform, but they are great where they are!
