Laika successfuly fills our Data Security Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Laika understands the complete process of becoming SOC-2 compliant. Their software system organizes the many, many tasks required to meet the SOC-2 standard. The software is intuitive and the consulting had raised our level of awareness and skillsets with regards to Data Security.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data security is a lot of work. As a startup software company, people bandwidth is precious, and it will take a lot of time with your smartest people to complete the program. That being said, I can't imagine how much longer and more expensive it would be without them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have customers that now require SOC-2 compliance, and our software team had no idea where to start. Laika also provides the corporate governance and structure to achieve SOC-2 compliance. Our company is now better organized to make data security an integral part of our design and process so that we can work with the largest customer requirements for data security.

Laika is a very reasonable way to improve security
What do you like best about the product?
Laika fills a need to help any company with security compliance by providing a clear framework to get there. The staff and IT security experts are great and very customer friendly. Pricing was incredibly competitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have not experienced any downsides from using Laika.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is helping us become SOC 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 certified. This is the first step in our company's path to HITRUST.
Makes SOC 2 compliance process clear and manageable
What do you like best about the product?
Laika makes the process of pursuing SOC 2 compliance incredibly clear and manageable for us as a small company with limited personnel resources. There are also a ton of integrations and internal tools which help automate some of the steps and provide templates for policies and procedures. The dedicated customer and technical managers are amazing and always available to help guide your next step / answer questions. Has been a great experience so far!
What do you dislike about the product?
Comments / notes section is specific to a section vs. individual steps which is not 100% ideal, but easy to adjust to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Achieving SOC 2 compliance will be an important step in our growth.

What do you like best about the product?
Thoropass has been great at making the compliance process easy to manage, and has been extremely responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you're looking for a consultant to come in and complete a compliance process for you, it's not the right platform. However, if you're looking for a clear set of guidelines to follow and a powerful platform for tracking compliance status, Thoropass is excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thoropass makes it simple to get certified with clear, actionable processes.
Great platform and client partners
What do you like best about the product?
An intuitive platform coupled with a robust set of integrations and templates makes getting through the SOC-2 infinitely less painful. Really great partners on the Laika team also make the experience enjoyable!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some UI bugs here and there that could use some cleanup to make the experience a bit more seamless. Occasionally difficult to find what you're looking for, but the team is highly responsive and quick to answer questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need our SOC-2 to close more deals. Simple as that. Without it, some potential leads won't even begin the convo.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika gives you a wealth of information and a bevy of tools to help guide you toward your Compliance goals. Whenever we hit a roadblock while implementing new systems to meet our goals, Laika gave us in-depth articles and hands-on help to guide us when setting up the nuts and bolts of our new processes. The ability to comment and communicate with one of Laika's specialists on each step of your Compliance Roadmap (and later on, quickly find those comments) became an essential feature for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
There hasn't been much to dislike at all while using Laika. While implementing new systems to meet our Compliance requirements, our team wanted to see more examples of other solutions (for logging, etc.) that other companies had implemented or at least generic examples that we could use as a starting point for our own processes. As we were new to SOC 2 compliance, we sometimes didn't feel confident in a particular solution we implemented, and having some template to refer to or check against would have been helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is guiding our company to SOC2 compliance, detailing the policies, procedures and systems we need to complete our Compliance Journey. Their expertise and clear Roadmap let us focus on actually implementing our Compliance requirements rather than sifting through documentation and wondering if we have everything we need in place.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika has all of the requirements for our compliance needs in one place. It's easy to upload evidence and discuss it with auditors. Sometimes the requirements can be tricky, but Laika does a great job of explaining exactly what we need to do. There are also a lot of integrations that remove a lot of manual work of pulling documents and information from other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes evidence requests have different due dates. Laika doesn't have a way of showing that requests have other due dates. Also, there is no file naming convention. When uploaded, files can have very ambiguous names, making it difficult to find files after upload.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because of Laika, we can manage our compliance in one place and reduce the time we spend going back and forth with auditors. We can spend less time on compliance, freeing our team to do important feature work for our customers.
Laika is a surefire bet for your SOC2 compliance
What do you like best about the product?
The platform includes everything you need to meet compliance. Together with Thoropass team's guidance it makes it possible to navigate the requirements needed both to meet compliance and to continue renovating it. Initially you start at your own pace, but their suggestions and inputs will push you to ensure you get there faster. Once our team completed our SOC Type 1 and Type 2 compliance, audits on our second year were pretty straightforward. We've since completed HIPAA and are going on to second re-evaluation soon.
What do you dislike about the product?
There weren't many dislikes about Thoropass's platform; everything is organized and easily accessible. At first, due to all the items and policies that need to be filled out, you get an overwhelming feeling, but once you get organized, you'll get the run of things in no time. Thoropass remains in contact to handle any doubts or impacts when they do updates to their system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To achieve SOC Type 1, SOC Type 2 and HIPAA compliance since 2022. With Thoropass's guidance and platform, we've improved the way we handle and store information to ensure we maintain the trust our clients have by using our system.

What do you like best about the product?
HR compliance training onboarding and offboarding employees are a breeze with the checklists.

Invaluable guidance while achieving SOC 2 compliance
What do you like best about the product?
Laika took all the pain out of the SOC 2 experience. First, the excellent compliance portal gave us step-by-step instructions on everything we needed to do to become compliant. I especially like the document templates, which save a lot of time while ensuring we check all the right boxes across many security controls.
Working with their customer success team also made a big difference in our SOC 2 process. Meeting with their experts bi-weekly kept us on track and answered any tough questions we could throw their way. This is a key differentiator for them.

What do you dislike about the product?
Over time, we encountered UX issues/bugs with the compliance portal, but to their credit, the Laika team was receptive to feedback and fixed issues quickly. Some items can't be tracked yet in Laika, but again, their team is so focused on making SOC 2 process smoother that I'm confident the platform will only get better in time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika helped us achieve SOC 2 compliance through their SaaS compliance site and dedicated customer success team. We reached our compliance goals much faster by partnering with them.
