A great tool for your SOC2
What do you like best about the product?
Internal resources on the platform are great.
I like that Laika provided us with (a) an account manager and (b) a dedicated compliance architect.

Makes a painful process a whole lot more manageable
What do you like best about the product?
The platform itself and the team around it are both phenomenal. Everything is laid out, and every question is answered almost immediately. We have regular calls to ensure no outstanding items are sticking points, and Danny has been superb at resolving any issues.
The ability to ask questions and communicate via the platform as you go through the various points has helped massively. The majority of our integrations were supported, so any information needed that already existed was imported from the off!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our SOC2 certification is needed to work with a lot of SaaS companies. Security is paramount for us, and with Laika's help, we can now prove that. Time is the most valuable resource for every business, so saving it is always hugely beneficial. Laika has shaved days and even weeks off the process.
Great platform to house all security related info
What do you like best about the product?
The support from Danny and Zac (CS and Audit specialist) has been extremely helpful in demystifying the whole SOC II process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrations with Azure Dev Opps not currently available; this would be helpful for our devs to provide evidence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Laika's system and invaluable guidance made compliance possible despite our early stage.
What do you like best about the product?
Laika integrates with our stack and provides guidance around building out policies and procedures. The platform is valuable, but the human element - access to excellent compliance professionals and a great project manager who helps keep everything moving forward - is essential. While we ramp up towards SOC2, they also have a service that assists us with compliance surveys, and while that does not entirely remove this work from my world, it does save a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to nitpick, I would say that some policy templates were overkill for our relatively simple scenario. It would be great if, in the future, the templates could be a bit more dynamic so they could auto-tailor themselves to various situations. Also, our policy commitments now include periodic promises for penetration testing, document reviews, risk assessment, vulnerability tracking, committee meetings, and more. Only a few of these items can be tracked inside Laika. For the rest, we had to build an extensive system of Asana automations to manage these and provide proof to auditors. There is probably some merit to us owning that data in any case, and the platform is undoubtedly valuable without this feature, but it remains a pain point in the compliance process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika solves problems around compliance, including guidance and tracking around policies and helping us understand which aspects of our systems and practices we need to harden. Some professionals I spoke with told me it was probably impossible to achieve SOC2 at all at our size. While it has been a sizeable extended project, Laika made the process manageable.
Thoropass makes compliance possible for us
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Thoropass is the dedicated security architect role; we've only had good experiences working with Thoropass's team members , and the architect has been a keystone for us when trying to navigate the compliance landscape. Their expertise allowed us to make intelligent decisions around how we approach each control in line with our existing policies and procedures.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing majorly stands out as an issue with using Thoropass. I'll mention we've had hiccups around the in-browser document editor occasionally crashing, but due to the cloud-based nature of Thoropass, no work was ever lost from this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thoropass significantly lowered our barrier to entry on SOC2 compliance, answering our questions and bringing us up to speed on controls, generating a tremendous amount of documentation (basically overnight!), and helping us keep it all organized.

What do you like best about the product?
It is more than just a platform. Laika have been committed to helping us pass out the SOC2 audit. The person I have the most contact with is Danny Hosek, who has been endlessly helpful. We have a bi-weekly call to discuss and guide us along our audit process. Zac Patenaude also frequently joins these calls and I am always amazed by the depth and breadth of knowledge he has, plus his willingness to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform itself has everything you need and is intuitive to use. There is not much I do not like. There are a couple of integrations that are not currently available, but I'm sure they are in the pipeline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is helping us to attain or SOC2 compliance certificate through their audit framework and processes. It is more than just a platform, Laika have worked with us in a consultative basis that has made our job so much easier.
Superb customer support and the depth of technical know-how built into the modules is exemplary
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive and easy-to-navigate modules that help the user make sense of the requirements and guide users on what is expected to become and remain compliant with technical standards. The modules are set out to encourage thinking and doing to achieve compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all - the application always worked, and it is easy to navigate your way within the application. The interactive component is also a very notable feature allowing you to ask and receive input from the Laika technical and support teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Laika to become SOC2 compliant and for our company to stand ready for an external audit against the standard. We have introduced valuable policies and procedures that we did not know before starting the journey with Laika.

The platform itself is very intuitive and user-friendly. For small startups, it can be tough to keep momentum on initiatives like SOC 2 compliance. Laika allows you to keep track of your progress and assign tasks to your team, so things like SOC 2 don't fall through the cracks.
Not to mention: One of the biggest perks you get with Laika is the team behind it. They are there every step of the way to answer questions and keep you moving.
Lastly, their templates give you a great jump-start to crafting your policies and procedures, which proves invaluable for small startups starting from scratch.

Not much to dislike. I will say that the online document editor is sometimes a bit quirky when you have "revision tracking" enabled.

Laika gives:
1. An experienced, professional sales team with: a lot of listening, understanding, demoing, and contract negotiation - no pressure. I had questions about Laika's auditor partners and was introduced with full transparency.
2. A well-designed Compliance Project Portal: with a clean, modern interface that is easy to use. This gives project management guidance, document templates, with all security controls required for SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR compliance. This level of project management is vital to ensure milestones are set realistically, and achieved as fast as possible in line with a corporation's priorities and resources.
3. Laika's customer success team, is exceptional. The Laika portal gives access to your dedicated Laika compliance expert and success manager, where one can @mention the Laika team on any aspect of compliance or security control, project management, or account issues. Efficient and Affordable Solution for SOC 2
What do you like best about the product?
The assigned implementation team is simply outstanding. They appreciate the demands on a scaling company with a lean team. We appreciate that the audit expense can be bundled into the engagement and that auditor inquiries can be handled seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
We enjoy all of Laika's features. The only concern we had was in the Pen Test pricing which could be more transparent. The number of endpoints is a big deal in the pricing. Our advice would be to nail this down during contract discussions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting ready for the first SOC 2 audit is more difficult to manage than actual audits. We tried working with a national CPA firm but, after six months, it seemed like we were not making progress--even though we were spending considerable time and money. Within six months of contracting with Laika, we were on track to meet our deadlines. Laika makes organizing workload and deliverables easy and we're confident that we understand the requirements and fully meet them.
