A great way of managing our internal compliance processes

I don't really have any dislikes. Everything works well and Laika provide the service we need from them

Great Support, Makes HIPAA Easy
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Laika is Laika's extremely strong customer support. I have also been able to get a helpful and timely response to my questions, which has made HIPAA much easier for my startup.
What do you dislike about the product?
No major complaints. At first I found the templates and guides a little confusing, but with the support of the Laika team my team and I quickly learned how to use Laika best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika has completely streamlined becoming HIPAA compliant, and made it possible for my small team to navigate.
Makes the journey to SOC2 compliance simple and easy to manage!
What do you like best about the product?
The combination of experts in their field, the regular check in's and the platform itself make the journey worry-free.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform can be a little buggy, with some regular 404's for missing pages and some unobvious approaches to the way things are done. But it's getting better!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Laika platform and the expert team behind the scenes is helping us get through the controls at a good pace, in comparison to going through this without any support and going to your traditional auditor. Along the way I am supported with checklists of requirements, prompts and templates for evidence and all of this is monitored by the Compliance Architect in almost real-time to ensure what I am doing is correct - they even spent quite a lot of time reviewing my existing ISO27001 policies and carrying out a GAP analysis so that I can reduce the work needed on documentation as it's already been done for our ISO compliance for the last few years.

Laika is reliable, helpful, adaptable to your level of expertise, patient, and a great advocate for getting through the compliance you are working towards
What do you dislike about the product?
The audit process took a little longer than expected, however, much quicker than initially predicted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were not SOC 2 Compliant and needed assistance beginning and completing that process. We are now type 1 certified and looking at type 2!

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Laika is that there's no pressure. You work at your own pace. If you're a small organization like us, you can complete a few of their tasks, work on shifting priorities, come back a month later, and pick up right where you left off. There's a status tracker that shows you the progress you've made. Everything you need to accomplish is laid out in straightforward steps. You can ask them anything, and they have subject matter experts on hand to help you.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's tough to find fault with Laika; they do so many things well. Sometimes an integration monitor will break, but they quickly fix these issues. The biggest thing I wish they had right now would be an integration with Microsoft Endpoint Manager. Their MDM monitoring is a bit light, but it's not a huge deal, and you can upload the audit trail you need on their platform. Their user controls could be more granular, but this is very nit-picky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you sign up with Laika, you get a true partner that's an expert in the compliance industry. They have playbooks that lay out your path to whichever certification or attestation you're after. You get assigned a team of experts who quickly answer questions via their platform. They have detailed descriptions of the things you need to accomplish and even suggest some of the best ways you could achieve each control they describe in their platform. You also don't have to go searching for SOC 2 auditors since it's provided with the platform cost. They assist the auditors in gathering the information on your behalf. They only bring you in when they need you.

What do you like best about the product?
The integration between our dedicated representatives from Laika and the application was seamless. Getting started was easy. We met with our Laika representatives a few times and were on our way to completing playbooks to get everything set up for the audit.
At the end of the day, the attention and detail of our team of helpful Laika representatives really solidified the experience for us and added a personal touch to the very drab work of undergoing an audit. I truly looked forward to the weekly touch base with our Laika team.

What do you dislike about the product?
The transition from preparation to audit was cumbersome. There were a number of pieces of evidence requested in the audit that were not covered in the preparation playbooks. Had these been covered in the playbooks, we would have had all of them done and completed well before the audit started.
That being said, even with the surprises, it was a much simpler process than preparing for the audit on our own and we were still able to complete the audit very quickly.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika enables our lean startup development team to not need to bring in compliance consultants or hire someone specifically for that role. With the help of Laika's app and guidance of their team we were able to prepare for and complete our SOC 2 audit easily without any prior experience.

Laika still does not offer full PCI compliance

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is streamlining our compliance process. We are facing aggressive timelines to comply with multiple frameworks, and the platform and its experts help us accelerate that process.
SOC 2, ISO 27001 -- Laika is the way to go!
What do you like best about the product?
We used Laika for our SOC 2 type 1, currently in the progress of preparing for SOC 2 type 2, GDPR and ISO 27001 certifications. I especially like Laika for the customer success team always being there for you. We've gone through SOC 2 type 1, which was a blast. We were given organised playbooks, uploaded our evidence, and answered the auditor's questions – all within the Laika platform. I like the streamlined and efficient process and recommend you check Laika out.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform sometimes feels slow to load right after you log in, but updates from Laika are regular, so hopefully, it will be quicker.

Laika makes audits way more organised and understandable. The flow for getting the audit done is very straightforward. Laika checks your evidence before going through an audit so that you will be prepared.
If we were getting the audit done ourselves, we would be pretty much in the dark starting from the preparation step (How do I even know which documents to prepare without a Compliance department at a company?).

Haven't found any downside so far. All available features work like a charm.

The step-by-step walkthrough is something everyone needs, especially for new frameworks.
