Great service to support your journey to compliance
What do you like best about the product?
The Laika support is incredibly valuable. Not only do they help you implement and improve your compliance posture over time, but also frequently take on customer suggestions. The team is always making sure they can provide the best compliance experience to their customers… and it shows in their willingness to take feedback and adapt.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compliance is complex, and the nature of implementation is that there are always different streams of work to complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is a very useful tool for achieving alignment across major security standards (not just SOC 2 or ISO 27001). Their help with compliance implementation and upkeep after the first year has made us more security conscious.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We strongly advise businesses to consider the product if you embark on your trip to achieve security audits. It gives you clear direction and focus, helping reduce the amount of resources necessary to complete those achievements.

Great team, practical approach and diligent follow up.
What do you like best about the product?
Team cooperation, professionalism, turnaround time and pragmatic execution of tasks. Having Auditors in house helps a lot in understanding needs and matching it to efficiently complete action items and achieve compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, there hasn't been any incidents to warrant a dislike feeling.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have achieved our SOC2 compliance with Thoropass. They team has helped us get ready for 3 consecutive audits. Great support and expertise, great customer service, very knowledgeable team. They were also proactive when we expressed some frustrations along the way. They actively looked for solutions. A higher up manager met with us and ensured that our pain points were successfully resolved.
Can't imagine doing security compliance without incredible team at Laika!
What do you like best about the product?
Laika truly alleviated all our worries about compliance. We started our journey concerned about the amount of work, but the software/ architects organized the entire process in a way that was actually attainable. Our audit process was also incredibly smooth. We worked with their integrated audit partner, which was a game changer. Everything was done through the platform which mitigated a lot of back-and-forth.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, I had a really positive experience working with Laika. Compliance is complicated...especially when starting from scratch. Our architect was crucial in helping us navigate those complexities. Because of Laika, we have a really good grasp on our compliance posture (for now and for the future)

We knew we needed compliance right from the get-go. But as a small company, we had no idea where to begin. Laika helped us consolidate everything and demonstrate our security measures to our customers.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika’s human component is the biggest value-add. Throughout our entire process, I never felt like I didn’t have support. It’s really great to have an expert who knows how to approach compliance correctly. Our team of experts consistently over-delivers and is there for us when we need them. Whether it was ensuring we’re implementing policies correctly, or answering questions from our customers… they made us feel like our goals were actually attainable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their solution transforms difficult requirements into bite-sized chunks of work, which is really helpful to understand the scope of work. However I think a project management feature would be fruitful so that we can see our to-do’s, in-progress, and done all in one place.
Also, sometimes the platform doesn't cover all of the nuances of particular compliance processes that are required. That being said, the team behind Laika is extremely helpful in that regard.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika has helped shape our organization to become security-minded. Not only have we been able to get through diligence with our SOC 2 report, but also understand the value behind each control we’ve implemented.

When looking for a solution, I highly recommend Laika. They don’t just help at the beginning. They’re there for you 100% of the time, even after the audit. Having a partner that is just as invested in our success and growth as us is invaluable.
Super fast SOC 2
What do you like best about the product?
Laika was totally turn-key for us. We started with nothing, and had completed the full SOC 2 type 1 process in about 6 weeks. As a single vendor, they provide the tooling, materials, consulting, and the audit for one packaged price. They provide a compliance architect who guided our decisions, and by the audit was smooth and fast because our Laika team could handle all of the interfacing with the auditors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, it is compliance... But if you have to do compliance, this is probably as good as it gets.

We needed a SOC 2 to help our customers have confidence in our service. Customers are demanding it these days.

I highly recommend Laika for your compliance needs! We spent a good deal of time on due diligence before choosing a vendor to help us toward our SOC 2 attestation. Ultimately we chose Laika because of their hands on approach, and they didn't disappoint.
Out the gate we were assigned a Customer Success team, that included a Compliance Architect, with whom we had weekly meetings throughout the process. Our Compliance Architect was quite knowledgeable and helped us work through some of the more difficult implementation tasks to ensure that our processes and policies not only met the SOC 2 standard, but also were a good fit within our organization. Laika organizes the evidence gathering tasks into "playbooks", which helped us stay organized and on task.
Once working through the playbooks our Customer Success team took a deeper dive into the evidence, ensuring there were no gaps before turning things over to the audit team. The Customer Success team essentially worked as our advocates throughout the audit, and were the first line of defence answering questions from the audit team. In the end, we were able to achieve a successful SOC 2 attestation without any surprises.

We didn't encounter any significant dislikes through the process. Laika's software platform is developing, and occasionally we would run into a bug or lacking feature, but this was not a major issue for us, and our Customer Success team was receptive to feedback. That said, Laika's platform worked really well, so anything lacking is in the "nice to have" category vs a "need to have".

This is covered above, but we chose Laika to help us work through our SOC 2 compliance, and they didn't disappoint. They guided us well throughout the process and we achieved our attestation without any surprises.
Spectacular SOC 2 partner for our small startup
What do you like best about the product?
After evaluating several vendors to support us through the SOC 2 process, we chose Laika for their blend of hands-on and technology-driven solutions. We had a dedicated relationship manager and compliance expert every step of the way to guide us through the SOC 2 audit process. They were able to easily accommodate our small company size (5 employees) and provide guidance for the needs of our specific business in a highly regulated industry. We were also one of the first customers to use their integrated audit solution, which significantly streamlined the audit process and provided for a much shorter audit timeline than a traditional auditor.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I didn't enjoy about my experience with Laika, and I would highly recommend them for a small company without dedicated compliance personnel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika helped us achieve a SOC 2 Type 1 certification with ease and will be our partner for the SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certifications in the future. Working directly with our Laika team has helped us understand a lot more about the audit requirements and allowed us to tune the controls to meet the exact needs of our business.

What do you like best about the product?
The Laika team has gone above and beyond for us. We not only leveraged their expertise to implement proper, customized controls, but also their experience in enterprise procurement. They helped us prepare for technical interviews with potential customers, and got us through a number of due diligence conversations. That level of service and dedication is something you can't find elsewhere.

There is nothing I dislike about them - they have always heard the feedback and implemented the changes in the best possible manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a compliance administration platform ourselves, we know how crucial it is to secure data. Laika has helped us align against best practices as we grow and scale. And now that we have controls in place, it's straightforward to go into the Laika platform and maintain compliance as we work towards the audit.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika is the best option for us because not only do they have all the same SaaS integrations for SOC 2 audit, but they are scalable beyond SOC 2 as well. Also, their team guides you through everything which is exactly what we wanted. Saves us from needing to do outside research when building our policies and controls.
What do you dislike about the product?
Laika is a little pricy, but it's worth it. They do offer some discounts. I got referred by another customer who had a discount for Laika which was helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting to SOC2 compliance and ensuring we're benefitting commercially from applying good security practices.
