Simple to use encryption for a small business
What do you like best about the product?
Virtru is easy to train on our users on, and the recipients don't report many issues accessing the secure email. We use the Gmail plugin for Chrome. Advanced features are also available when needed, but don't get in the way of day to day basic usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Chrome plugin gets disconnected sometimes and a few steps have to be taken to re-enable it. Not a big deal because the plugin walks you through the steps to reactivate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Virtru allows us to email information while staying HIPAA compliant, a must for our industry. This makes it easier to transfer information with clients versus setting up dedicated secure channels through FTP, VPN, or other means.

What do you like best about the product?
It is always on, so even if you forget to turn it on, it will be on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Keeps getting kicked off GMAIL, so a few times a month you have to refresh your email to get it back
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do not want users to share our customer's personal information without encrypting them
Ease of use on the sending side - some difficulties on the receiving side
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use sending encrypted emails; integrated with Outlook makes this very easy;
What do you dislike about the product?
Numerous people that receive encrypted emails are unable to open them - clearly many of these are due to user error (mostly impatience, not waiting for an email to open); and then constant issues that people receiving encrypted emails cannot forward attachments to coworkers or other people involved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving ease of sending HIPPA data securely; again, it is easy to send;

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that it is an extension on the business Gmail account, and adding or deleting users is a click away.
What do you dislike about the product?
Several end-users who receive the secure Virtru email have experienced difficulties opening the encrypted message. Different messages are noted that they do not have access to the message have been reported.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a medical practice and need to send secure PI to members outside our Gmail domain. This encryption allows us to feel confident that we are doing everything we can to keep with current HIPAA laws and regulations regarding PI and the transmission via email of this protected information.
The company is good, very upfront in what they offer & what they dont

never had any issues WITH THERE WEB, EVREY THING WAS PERFECT

share files in Drive, send messages via Gmail, and communicate via Google Meet
Solid email encryption solution
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of setup and use. It is pretty self-explanatory for end-users and integrates into existing mail clients such as gmail. We were able to rollout virtru with minimal issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial conversations, negotiations were a little bumpy. So, not so much the product, just the initial discovery and getting set up with an account, etc. but once that was over, no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance goals such as HIPAA/HITRUST as well as increased security and data loss prevention. So far, we have been able to achieve several compliance goals for securing data and communications

nothing at all , every thing was easy and the service was perfect
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protect Secret Information. One major benefit of having email security in place is to protect secret information
Great for Chrome, but lack of Firfox support is a small hurdle
What do you like best about the product?
Virtru's simple toggle button interface and clean UI within GMail makes it easy to use and to feel safe that encryption is being enabled. The UI for receiving, opening, and managing encrypted emails is also cleaner than any I have seen with competitor platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
A good number of our users are heavily reliant on Firefox rather than Chrome, but do not use MS Outlook either. It is fine with the relatively small amount encrypted emails those users need to initiate to switch over to Chrome when necessary to send an encrypted message, but if possible a Firefox plug-in would be helpful in unifying processes across all of our staff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We relied on workarounds of and responding to partner's encrypted messages in order to send data through encrypted email or storing encrypted files on fileshares before acquiring our own encrypted email solution. We were instantly more assured of the security and safety of our practices once we implemented Virtru, and are able to communicate securely without second thought.
Helpful, but can be a little glitchy
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Virtru encrypts my data and that it's as simple as turning on and off
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a lot of clients who will have trouble accessing it or logging in, which is partially due to user error but also sometimes Virtru will just disallow use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to email sensitive information via a secured format is very helpful and solves the problem of communicating across databases. It's a major benefit for protecting information while at the same time sharing it where it's needed

That I do not have to worry about information getting leaked

There are a few steps to unlock messages but that is expected

sending information securely allows us to communicate when needed about member information and not get leaked.
