Compliance Confusion Simplified
What do you like best about the product?
The ethyca team is very resourceful and dilegent on improving their platform's performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. Pretty awesome service. Team is super helpful

Powerful App with an Incredible Team
What do you like best about the product?
The data mapping ability from many interconnected systems and being able to see it visually is incredible. The data flow tool is handy from a system topology standpoint to see how data interacts with our environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
From an administrative standpoint, Ethyca lacks SSO / SCIM support as of yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of CCPA and PII deletion and requests workflows in our environment. Up to this point, this process has been entirely manual and leaves many chances for error.
Easy to understand and implement as a non-technical person
What do you like best about the product?
The support team at Ethyca is extremely helpful, hands-on, and responsive. They even worked with our legal counsel to make sure our privacy policy was accurate and up to date. They are truly experts in data privacy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is quite a bit of setup required if your company uses many services, but Ethycas thorough integration documentation makes the setup very straightforward
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ethyca handles all of our data privacy needs related to CCPA and GDPR, including hosting our privacy center, consent management, data erasure requests, and data download requests. This has taken a significant amount of stress and confusion off of our customer service team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Ethyca to any organization where a non-technical person will be handling the implementation and setup. The Ethyca support team is incredibly helpful, responsive (shockingly, at all hours of the day) and great at explaining complicated or confusing subjects in a way that is clear and helpful. They've made me feel like a data privacy expert.

What do you like best about the product?
The support and education that the Ethyca provides right off the bat. Ethyca went above and beyond to help my team understand compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
How difficult it is to navigate GDPR and CCPA compliance as a whole. Understanding how to ensure how company compliance is a difficult task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ethyca helped us automate our GDPR and CCPA compliance within all of the platforms. Ethyca makes it easy for our customers to consent, download their data and ask for erasure from our system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great platform for all your GDPR and CCPA compliance needs. They help make this process as simple and easy as possible.
Well done implementation that was not without hurdles but the team rose to the challenge.

I would like to see more regular updates on upcoming laws and regs.

GDPR/CCPA compliance regulations. Data mapping tool eases internal pressure and workloads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to review all servers external and internal for data use cases. If possible, work towards having full API integrations with the Ethyca solution, limiting the number of manual removal requests.
CCPA Stinks... Ethyca Make It Easy!

Easy to manage and collect customer data requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
CCPA and other privacy policies are very much a new frontier so the whole process can be confusing. But Rachel made it easy to understand during onboardiing.

We updated the way in which we collect and deal with data collected by our customers and the entire reason we changed was because we found ethyca
The company is friendly, but the technology experience has been bumpy.
What do you like best about the product?
Ethyca has been very friendly and responsive. They have helped us address issues as they arise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Original documentation was misleading and incomplete; I believe this has been resolved. Requiring a configuration database backend for what was previously configured in a yaml file has only increased complexity for infrastructure requirements. Because of this, Atlas >=1.0 is not CI/CD friendly which to us is a step backwards from versions prior to 1.0. We have still developed a way to manage Atlas deployments with CI/CD, but it was unfortunate we needed to do this development ourselves. It also means we are more likely to be impacted by future changes and will need to continually modify our solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to be in CCPA compliance, and Ethyca is helping ensure that we are.

What do you like best about the product?
Ethyca automates an otherwise arduous and complicated process. With Ethyca we feel secure that we are complying with legal obligations. The team is really nice, always ready to help and troubleshoot, they are also very well informed of the subject matter.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting up and running has taken much longer than anticipated. This is partially attributed to the fact that our integration is a bit custom built. It would have been good to have known this and been more realistic to manage expectations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ethyca is helping us manage our data privacy obligations; deleting data, access requests and DNS consents. Ethyca streamlines the process, freeing up time for our colleagues to focus on core work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As data privacy regulations expand globally it's definitely worth investing in Ethyca and automating the process. Setting up will take some time.
Great customer service, the team is always open for requests and collaboration.
What do you like best about the product?
I think their customer service is one of their strongest features. Another thing I would distinguish is their dedication in finding an optimal solution, they are always eager to fit the customer's needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The expectations of something working flawlessly are not high, so I would say more attention can be spent on testing/QA to increase confidence in the reliability and robustness of the product and its features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly, Ethyca is helping with configuring and setting up integrations with various third-party services and is keeping us compliant with California Consumer Privacy Act.
