Awesome, Automated, Reference checking Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's efficient, easy to use, and people can share feedback when it's most convenient for them

Not everyone is familiar with the tool and therefore may not "trust" it to be reliable
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managers only need to call references if they choose to, and this saves a ton of time. The references are honest and thorough

What do you like best about the product?
The database and the fact that we catch people faking their references. The insights are incredible and people will rate candidates fairly accurately and give specific feedback on skills required for the job. One comment stated that the candidate was a great person as long as you don't require her to sell anything. The position was for Insides Sales. Respected resource with incredible data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. Just don't like the fact that candidates try to cheat. Don't like the features around current employer references but it is not something we haven't been able to work through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hiring much better Inside Sales staff, preventing bad hires who don't have the skills required for the job and significantly reducing turnover.

The problem we were looking to solve is getting feedback without having to chase someone down on the phone

Organization of the software. You can easily organize candidates in the process and the ones that ate finalized.

I wouldn't say I like the rating scale for this; I wish it was more standard and had a 1-10 rating scale rather than a 1-7 scale.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accurate reference reports for candidates before they are hired, making the onboarding process more seamless.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My only recommendations would be that it is a 1-7 rating scale, don't let the rating scale be too harsh on candidate reference feedback.
I would recommend SkillSurvey to friends and colleagues for the ease and efficiency of use

The ease of sending the survey to candidates; options for surveys that meet our business needs; questions within surveys are specific

The manager override requires that references are submitted before we can override

No need to call references; references are coming back sooner; snapshot of references make it easy to assess a candidate

Two things:
+ the amount of time it saves us - pays for itself
+I think people say things online that they may not say in a conversation, which gives us a clearer picture.

We have had made some critical hiring decisions based on feedback.
The time we get back by incorporating it into our ATS has been enormous. We can push one button and references are started. We calculated the time saved and it actually saved us money.

You have to finalize a reference before seeing what it says.

Sometimes the platform does not always work as it should due to updates or random glitches. However, if reported the customer support is amazing.

it really helps locate the talent that the company is looking for.

Hiring based solely on resume and interviews. Being able to use the whole person concept is what we have adapted from the Talent Cloud.

What do you like best about the product?
By far the easiest system to use with the most advanced customization. I have used this system for over 12 years and have not found one that compares. There are endless custom fields and reports that can be created. I have used the system in 3 organizations and have made it unrecognizable from one company to the next in order to suit each organization's unique requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are small things that can be improved but nothing I dislike. It would be nice to have custom notifications when certain actions are taken. For example, an email every time a new job is created. There could also be more intuitive searching.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a remote team of 7 recruiters that are filling over 100 positions a month. We needed a central system to ensure recruiting was as efficient as possible. This has lowered our time to fill and has allowed us to track sourcing activities much easisr.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it! I have implemented this system 3 times and it has always been a success. We have looked at all the major players multiple times over the years and always go back to using iCIMS. They are simply the best product at the best price.
